Only True Marvel Fans Will Be Able To Name All These Secondary Characters

Regular, run-of-the-block comic book nerds can pick out all of the Marvel superheroes. And if they're real fans, then chances are they can pinpoint not only their superhero name, but also their actual, regular-person name. For instance, most anyone who's watched Marvel movies in their lifetime can say that Ant-Man has become a pretty prominent (albeit tiny) member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's superhero team. But not as many people would be able to pinpoint his actual name. It's not really what you'd call common knowledge, like Peter Parker's name or Tony Stark's. (For the record, Ant-Man's real name is Scott Lang.) So, if only a small percentage of fans can name the central heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, even fewer can name all of the secondary characters that populate Marvel's many superhero films. From the sidekicks to the love interests to the villains, fans might remember what role the following characters played in their respective movies, but chances are they won't be able to pinpoint their actual names. Well, unless they're true Marvel fans, that is. In that case, this quiz should be a piece of cake. Or perhaps a better comparison would be a plate of shawarma.

Question 1

Who is this character from Captain America: The First Avenger?

Unfortunately, when one accidentally becomes a popsicle and skips decades of their life, it's kind of hard to pick up from where they left off. All the friends, acquaintances and love interests that they might have met during their old life are likely to be either gone or nearing their ninetieth birthday. Such was the case for Captain America, who fell in love with this woman during World War II, then went on to get cryogenically frozen for decades. Luckily, after he woke up in the 21st century, he got to say goodbye to her before she passed, but still, it wasn't exactly an idyllic love story. Who is this character?

Question 2

Who is this character from Spider-Man: Homecoming?

People go to desperate measures to protect their families. Admittedly, most don't steal alien technology and build an entire criminal empire based on selling alien weapons, but still, one can empathize with the idea of providing for one's kin. This is all this character was really after. Although he went down some dark paths, his primary interest was always his family and keeping them happy. What a coincidence that his daughter ended up being Peter Parker's love interest. So, what is this guy's name?

Question 3

Who is this character from Iron Man 3?

You've gotta love a good old revenge story. It seems like a lot of Tony Stark's nemeses are after a bit of vengeance. From the perspective of fans, it's kind of hard to imagine how someone could hate our beloved Iron Man, but at the same time, we could see how Tony's sharp words might bite. When you're on his good side, being a friend of Tony Stark's is a pretty fine thing. But we can imagine getting abandoned on a building roof by Tony would inspire a host of different feelings. Who is this villain?

Question 4

Who is this character from Doctor Strange?

This character is a Master of the Mystic Arts, alongside Doctor Strange. Fans of Doctor Strange probably remember him as the librarian at Kamar-Taj. Although Doctor Strange might've been able to sneak around him to get his hands on some of the complex's many ancient texts, this guy is normally not one to be messed with. He helped Tony Stark and Spider-Man take on Ebony Maw during Avengers: Infinity War, and we're guessing we'll be seeing him in the sequel. Who is this character?

Question 5

Who is this character from The Avengers?

Any nerd who's any nerd should know who this character is. He wasn't just in The Avengers. He's been in a whole host of Marvel films and he even has his own TV series, Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Fans might remember him most prominently as the man who managed to unite the Avengers for the first time in their battle against Loki. It wasn't anything he said, but the fact that he perished fighting for a cause he believed in that struck at the heartstrings of our nascent heroes. Luckily for us, as it turns out, he didn't actually perish, but that's a whole different story. So, what's this guy's name?

Question 6

Who is this character from Ant-Man?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe seems to have its fair share of power-hungry rich dudes who want to watch the world burn. That's the thing with billionaires who are in the business of creating weapons - war actually isn't a bad thing for them. In fact, it would better be described as a business opportunity. Such was the perspective of this character from Ant-Man, who wanted to weaponize the Ant-Man suit and reap profits by being the only supplier of its fuel. What's his name?

Question 7

Who is this character from Avengers: Infinity War?

When picturing the closest allies of Thanos, this was pretty much what we were imagining. When you're as big and bad as Thanos, your henchmen are going to be pretty freaking scary looking. And this guy lived up to his appearance. Not only did he manage to kidnap Doctor Strange, but before Tony Stark and Peter Parker came to his rescue, he was starting up on some pretty freaky needle stuff. So, all in all, we aren't all that disappointed he ended up getting sucked into space like a dust bunny into a vacuum. What's this guy's name?

Question 8

Who is this character from Black Panther?

It's lovely to see both of our boys from Sherlock ponying up and making a name for themselves in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And Tolkien's universe. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are basically just the two Kings of nerdacity at this point. But in the MCU, Martin Freeman plays a less prominent character than his characters in Sherlock and The Hobbit films. He's a CIA agent, but he's constantly one step behind his Wakandan allies. What is his character's name?

Question 9

Who is this character from Guardians Of The Galaxy 2?

We all love a good villain. It's pretty weird, though, when the villain ends up being the father of the main character. Normally, the kin of the heroes are... well, good. Or at least not evil. But in this case, Peter Quill's father ended up being one of the most evil characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not only did he have countless children as an experiment to try to pass on his Celestial powers, but he proceeded to end their lives if they didn't inherit his abilities. Yeah, not exactly Dad of the Year. So, what's this terrible father's name?

Question 10

Who is this character from Ant-Man?

One of the coolest things about Marvel is that it celebrates science. A lot of the Avengers' superpowers come not from weird mutations or an exposure to radioactivity, but from the innovations of technology. Tony Stark built his own suit out of a collection of weapons technology he first thought of in a freaking cave. And Ant-Man's suit was the innovation of a scientist who discovered a miraculous particle he went on to name after himself. So, what's this scientist's name?

Question 11

Who is this character from Avengers: Age Of Ultron?

In the beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a lot of the focus was on reality-bending technology and the superpowers it created. But as more movies came out, more of a focus was placed on biology. First, there was the botany from Iron Man 3. Extremis basically made ticking time-bombs out of humans, but Tony Stark made quick work of the villains behind that. Then, there was the science spearheaded by this character. Living tissue could be created using nothing but a machine. What is her name?

Question 12

Who is this character from Iron Man 2?

Normally, it's pretty hard not to love the characters that Sam Rockwell plays. He's got this charm about him that makes him difficult not to root for. But it was pretty easy not to root for this character from Iron Man 2. Not only was he in direct competition with our beloved Tony, but he was super freaking annoying about it. He broke a criminal out of prison, he stupidly trusted said criminal, then when it all backfired, he tried to shirk responsibility like a child. What's this guy's name?

Question 13

Who is this character from Guardians Of The Galaxy?

We'll give you a hint. He's not exactly well-known for getting along with people. In fact, his entire existence is based upon trying to destroy others as revenge. And poor Gamora actually had to share space with this guy. Luckily, all it took to defeat him in the end was a well-timed dance-off. Or, as Drax put it in Avengers: Infinity War, a dance-off-to-save-the-galaxy. Can anyone imagine that happening in any film other than Guardians Of The Galaxy? So, what's this terrible dancer's name?

Question 14

Who is this character from Iron Man 3?

Not only was this character an ex-flame of Tony Stark's but she created some pretty dangerous technology as well. Although one wouldn't normally associate botany with weaponry, this character managed to create something that resulted in exploding plants. Of course, some evil minds saw the potential in this, and soon, it was humans that were exploding, not just saplings. But this lady never really wanted anything like that to come out of her technology. Still, she wasn't exactly innocent in the whole process either. So, what's this character's name?

Question 15

Who is this character from Ant-Man?

If fans can't remember his name, chances are they remember how fast this guy talked. He could have made an Olympic sport out of speed-talking. And it wasn't just that he talked quickly. He also somehow felt the need to divulge his entire life's story every single time he opened his mouth. Or Scott Lang's life story. Or really, anyone's life story. This guy just loves to talk, which actually makes him pretty good for distracting people. What's his name?

Question 16

Who is this character from Black Panther?

This lady was kind of the bomb. Not only did she kick some serious butt in the various battles fought during Black Panther, but she was also the only one who saw the solution to Wakanda's problems from the very beginning. Where Killmonger believed Wakanda needed to create an empire out of itself, T'Challa wanted the opposite, thinking Wakanda was only going to survive if it completely isolated itself from the world. Only this character saw the potential of starting outreach programs and gradually introducing Wakanda to the wider world from the very start. But luckily, that's what Wakanda ended up doing in the end anyways, so it all worked out. What's her name?

Question 17

Who is this character from Spider-Man: Homecoming?

This character was kind of the best sidekick ever. Usually, one would picture someone in a super-suit as the sidekick of a Marvel superhero, but instead of helping in Spider-Man's battles, this character helped out on the tech side. He was the guy-in-the-chair, helping Peter to find out where he was going and what he should be doing from the safety of a computer lab. Plus, he built a pretty mean Lego Evil Star. What's the name of this character?

Question 18

Who is this character from Iron Man?

Tony Stark tends to keep to himself, despite being an egomaniacal playboy. Sure, he crashes his fair share of parties, but in his day-to-day life, more hours are spent in his lab tinkering with mechanics than in social settings. So, if one were to count his actual friends, one probably wouldn't go beyond two hands. And one of his absolute closest friends is this guy right here. In the beginning, this guy was his bodyguard, but when that got kind of ridiculous (Iron Man doesn't really need a bodyguard), he took on more managerial roles at Stark Industries. So, what's his name?

Question 19

Who is this character from Black Panther?

This character won the hearts of Marvel fans across the globe. When asked who their favourite Disney Princess was, fans were suddenly saying that it was this character right here rather than Elsa from Frozen or Rapunzel from Tangeld. Sure, those characters were great, but this girl manages all of Wakanda's technology on her own. And she's a teenager. So, even though she might not technically be a Disney Princess, we're of the opinion she deserves an honorary mention. What is her name?

Question 20

Who is this character from The Avengers?

Although many fans might primarily know this woman as Robin from How I Met Your Mother, she's gone on to make a name for herself in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although her character started out with a pretty minor role in The Avengers, she's starred in numerous films since, from Captain America: The Winter Soldier to Avengers: Age Of Ultron. She's smart, she's quick, and without her aid, chances are the Avengers wouldn't be where they are today. What is this character's name?

Question 21

Who is this character from Thor: Ragnarok?

This guy was easily the breakout star of Thor: Ragnarok. The guy was made out of crumbling rock, had a voice like a chihuahua on helium and dreamed of starting revolutions on a planet made of trash. Does it get any better than that? Although we didn't get to see him in Avengers: Infinity War, we're really hoping he somehow managed to survive Thanos's destruction of Asgard's ships. Because if all we get from this guy is one movie, we'd be pretty darn disappointed. What's his name?

Question 22

Who is this character from Black Panther?

This guy started out as a staunch ally of T'Challa's. But when T'Challa failed to avenge this character's parents, the tables turned. When Killmonger came to Wakanda offering alternative solutions, this character jumped right on board, turning on T'Challa and participating in a civil war that claimed the lives of many Wakandans. We didn't see him in Avengers: Infinity War, so it's hard to say where he's at now. Maybe he's in a prison. Or maybe he's dust. So, what's his name?

Question 23

Who is this woman from Thor: Ragnarok?

This woman was one of the coolest characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date (at least in our humble opinions). She was a warrior of Asgard, and when she experienced unimaginable trauma on the battlefield, she fled her home and sought solace on a trash planet, making a living hunting down potential gladiators. Turning to booze, she began to wile her life away, even though she was the last of an ancient order of Asgardians. But in Thor: Ragnarok, she changed her ways and returned to the battlefield to save her home. What's her name?

Question 24

Who is this character from Black Panther?

In most superhero movies of the past, it was a burly dude who played the main warrior. But in Black Panther, the country's strongest warrior was this amazing woman. She led the group of warriors that defended the king, and on more than one occasion, she kicked some serious butt, whether she was tossing spears off of cars or throwing a bothersome wig in someone's face. In Avengers: Infinity War, she continued the good fight, only to watch her king vanish into a pile of dust. What is her name?

Question 25

Who is this character from Guardians Of The Galaxy 2?

Although we didn't see too much of this character in Guardians Of The Galaxy 2, she is likely to play a big role in how things unfold on the cosmic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Set on revenge against the Guardians of the Galaxy, at the end of the movie, it seemed as if she had created some new life form in order to exact her vengeance. She named it Adam, and we're guessing this "Adam" will be playing a central role in Guardians Of The Galaxy 3. So, who is this woman?
