How I Met Your Mother has been off air for eight years yet it is still one of the most watched and talked about series. How I Met Your Mother is an American sitcom that originally aired on CBS. The show followed the narrator of the show, Ted Mosby and his group of friends around New York City. This show is unique because the entire show is actually a flashback, Ted is telling his kids just how he met their mother and all of the events and relationships leading up to it. The show is loosely inspired by Craig Thomas and Carter Bays friendship as they both lived in Manhattan. The show received generally positive reviews that faltered a bit in their later seasons but all in all How I Met Your Mother was nominated for twenty eight Emmy awards. Of these twenty eight nominations they won a total of nine!
Even though the show is suppose to be about Ted meeting and falling in love with the mother of his children they don't mention her name until the series finale. Instead the show focuses on his relationships with his friends as well as his dissatisfaction in his romantic relationships.
