The Vampire Diaries was one of the most popular shows on the air when it was on the CW Network. It was roughly based on the book series of the same name and followed around a rag tag group of locals who dealt with the trials and tribulations that come with dealing with supernaturals. They all experienced their own personal loses that shaped the people that they were while also experiencing some highs with one another. At the end of the day they all had each others backs and tried to do what was best for everyone. This show ended about a year ago but has still remained extremely popular among people of all ages. It is hard not to feel like you know characters personally when you have been watching them religiously for eight years.
So we created this quiz to test your knowledge and weed out the hardcore fans from those who simply flipped the show on when they had nothing else to do. So which are you? Once the tomb vampires are released from underneath the church they torment the town and want to exact revenge on all of the founding families for something that happened over a hundred years ago. Of course the Salvatore brothers and everyone else refuse to let this happen and they capture all of the vampires and trap them in one place before setting it on fire and ending the tomb vampires once and for all. Everyone was shocked to discover that Katherine was back in Mystic Falls after over a hundred years. She made her first appearance while she was posing as Elena and one of the first people that she ran into was none other than Uncle John. When she ran into him he obviously believed that it was Elena but Katherine quickly made it known that this was not the case by doing something that Elena would never ever do to him. In the second season Katherine turns Caroline into a vampire. It is one of the biggest twists of the series but Caroline actually turned out to be a pretty good vampire. She flourished under the pressure of needing to be in control and was able to find herself once she became a vampire. She grew confident and was no longer the whiny cheerleader begging for attention from anyone who would give it to her. But why did Katherine do this?

At the end of season seven Damon finds himself outside the vault in the armory. He is just about to leave after completing what he went there for when he was compelled to go inside the vault by something. This turned out to be a trap and lead to him being imprisoned by a siren for months. She used him to kill innocent humans in order to feed to her for strength and allow her to once again walk the earth.

Almost the entire show revolved around Elena Gilbert. Almost every vampire on the show had a strange obsession with her and wanted something from her. Whether it was information, her blood or even her heart there was always a vampire looking for or following Elena Gilbert. Rose was introduced in the series in the first season when she kidnapped Elena as an offering to Klaus and Elijah. Elena's adoptive parents were killed when their car drove off of a bridge and into a lake. They were unable to escape and sadly drowned before help could arrive. Elena was also in the car but Stefan was able to get her out in time to save her life. He tried to save her parents but it was too late. This bridge was redone in one of the later seasons and named the same thing as the last one was.

Enzo became a main character after he was introduced in season five. He was Damon's cellmate when they were imprisoned by the Augustines for testing. They became each others lifelines and when Damon escaped and left him behind Enzo was devastated. He remained in captivity for a very, very long time and when he got out Damon was the first person he looked for. The two fought it out a little bit but eventually they made up and became BFF'S once again.

Caroline is always searching for love and acceptance. She tries to hide her insecurities behind a strong bravado and her good looks but she is not as strong as she looks. Eventually, Caroline is able to find herself and become more comfortable in her own skin, she grows as a person as the show goes on and eventually finds her place in the world. She becomes a mother and even marries the man of her dreams. But who is this man?

Now that Caroline has her children safe with her and her perfect husband everything is perfect. Isn't it? When Jeremy found out that he was a hunter everything started to fall into place for him, his anger and rebellion finally had a cause. He was born to kill vampires and protect humans. This mark was a map that lead to the cure for vampirism so Jeremy was in a rush to complete it in order to help his sister reverse her vampirism.

Elena Gilbert is one of the main characters on her show. A lot of the show centers around her and her world. She is the epicenter of the Salvatore's world and the main reason behind their desire to protect the residents of Mystic Falls. She is able to charm even the more ruthless vampires with her undeniable charm and kind heart. She is always putting others first and tries to do right by everyone, even once she becomes a vampire.
