Most fantasy novels these days have a clear inspiration: J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. This massive trilogy of books was created to not only give more information as to what a Hobbit was, but further establish the fictional land known as Middle-Earth. Needless to say, Tolkien's biggest strength was his world-building.

The Lord of the Rings became one of the most critically-acclaimed fantasy series of all time, and was later adapted into one of the most critically-acclaimed movie series of all time. That said, many people have only seen the movies, which means they have missed out on a lot of the interesting and deep elements of Middle-Earth.

There are a few who have read all of the books and perhaps even dabbled in The Silmarillion. Wherever you may stand, know that we're not here to challenge those who have just seen the movies. We're going to dig deep into Middle-Earth lore to figure out which of you are the ultimate The Lord of the Rings fans.

If you're not familiar with the books, then this quiz may be seriously difficult for you. With that out of the way, are you ready for a challenge? Only the biggest The Lord of the Rings fans can even hope to pass this quiz.

Who was Treebeard's wife?

Treebard talks a few times in The Lord of the Rings about he and the Ents once had several Entwives in Fangorn Forest. Then he laments about how they, quite literally, lost them all and can no longer find them as a result. Among the numerous wives, Treebeard is broken over not knowing where his own lovely Ent was. The sad part is that we never find out what happened to her- only that she was missing and might've been seen near the Shire.

The Wizards are a powerful race in Middle-Earth. More than just men who learned how to use magic, they are all-knowing beings who have been around since the Elder Days. Gandalf is one of these wizards and is known across all the land. Along with him is the evil wizard Saruman. However, there are more wizards in this Order than just the two of them. Yet, they weren't important to The Lord of the Rings, so we never saw them appear.
