Most people will probably agree that when it comes to medical dramas, nothing can beat Grey's Anatomy. Grey's Anatomy is a popular medical drama TV series that first aired in 2005. So far, 15 seasons of the show have been released which makes it the perfect TV series to binge watch. Of course, true fans have watched the series ever since it originally aired and remember the first few seasons with nostalgia.
Like most TV shows, this series made stars out of numerous actors, including Ellen Pompeo, Patrick Dempsey, Sandra Oh, Katherine Heigl, Kate Walsh, Justin Chambers and Isaiah Washington to name just a few. As the series progressed more and more characters were introduced. Unfortunately, some of the old characters whom we have grown to love, and the actors who played them, ended up leaving the show which means that while new plot lines were added some of the story lines that we have been ardently following were forgotten.
Speaking of plot lines, while most of us love watching scenes that involve surgery and saving patients' lives, there is nothing like a romantic plot twist to keep us engaged. Over the course of the show we saw countless of characters get together, get married, break up, and start a family. Some of the romantic relationships worked out, others did not. But only a true Grey's Anatomy fan can remember who dated who!
Who was Meredith Grey's one true love?
Meredith met her one true love at the very beginning of the show. As fans will probably have no trouble recalling, she first met him at a bar. The next morning however it became apparent that she was a new surgical intern at Seattle Grace Hospital and that he was the boss of her boss. Meredith's one true love was not as perturbed about this as she was and made continuous advances which she rejected thinking that he was only interested in the chase. Things got even more complicated when it turned out that Meredith's one true love was still married and when his wife turned up at the hospital hoping to work things out.
Who did Cristina Yang almost marry?
Cristina was without doubt one of the best characters on the entire show which is why we were so upset when she left at the end of season 11. She was one of the best surgeons out there and she had the necessary qualities - and skills - to become the absolute best. She was focused and ambitious and she loved cutting people more than anything else. She had trouble expressing herself however which proved to be an issue not only when it came to empathizing with patients but also when it came to opening up to her romantic partners. Take the man above for example. Cristina found it hard to give up her freedom for him and of course it did not help that they had little in common apart from surgery.

Remember Izzie? If you've watched the show from the very beginning, you should. She was an intern at Seattle Grace Hospital along with Meredith, Alex, Cristina and George. Out of the original cast Izzie was without doubt one of the most loving and caring characters. She believed that every single person had good in them which is why she was willing to give everyone a chance. Her sensitive personality however meant that she ended up falling for one of her patients. He too was not indifferent towards her. However, this patient had serious heart problems and eventually passed away, leaving Izzie inconsolable.

When Meredith's one true love decided to give his marriage another shot, Meredith was incredibly sad and disappointed. She started seeing one guy after another in the hopes of healing and forgetting "McDreamy". It was around this time that she met a handsome vet whom she nicknamed "McVet". He was kind and caring and he really liked Meredith. On their first date he had to run some errands and by errands we mean birthing a horse, which delighted Meredith to no end. When "McDreamy" ended things with his wife Meredith began seeing both of the men she had a crush on. Ultimately however she chose "McDreamy" over "McVet".

The relationship between Richard Webber and his first wife was a complicated one. He married her when she was 25 years old and soon enough started seeing his colleague. The two started seeing one another although their relationship cooled somewhat after Richard's first wife passed away. Eventually however they made up and Richard almost proposed to her twice. In the end however it was this character who proposed to Richard, and he accepted. Their wedding consisted of a small ceremony in the hospital's chapel.

As most are without doubt well aware, April is currently married to a paramedic who is very similar to her. They both believe in God and they are both incredibly dorky (who can forget his flash mob proposal to April?) Their relationship was not without hiccups however. For example, at their wedding April's old flame proclaimed his love for her and she fled with him, leaving her fiance at the altar. They both later got married to other people but after the passing away of his wife the paramedic and April resumed their relationship. The two ended up getting married once more (and this time no one interrupted their wedding ceremony)!
Who was Owen Hunt involved with back in his army days?
The Head of Trauma and the former Chief of Surgery, Owen Hunt is a charismatic man so it comes as no surprise that throughout the course of the show he dated quite a few women. One of them was the blonde woman in the image above. Owen first met her back when he was serving in the army. They bonded because they were both army surgeons. However, nothing came of their relationship because at the time Owen was engaged to someone else. Later Owen brought this character to Seattle Grace Hospital as a present for his new girlfriend. This character then made Owen choose between her and his then-girlfriend. His decision did not please her but they remained friends nonetheless.
What was the name of the doctor that Meredith Grey dated after "McDreamy" passed away?
We didn't see all that much of this character but hopefully the writers of the show will rectify this soon. This character appeared in a few episodes in season 12 of Grey's Anatomy. He works as a surgical oncologist at Bauer Army Medical Center but came to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital to help with a case. That is how he met Meredith with whom he was instantly smitten. He asked for her number and she obliged him but never actually answered any of his calls or texts. He thus came down to Seattle once again and they went on a few dates. We've already mentioned that Owen is a charming man hence why he has no trouble asking women out and even getting them to say "yes" to his marriage proposals. However, he is not actually lucky when it comes to maintaining relationships. Indeed, Owen has been engaged three times and married twice but unfortunately neither marriage worked out. Pretty much everyone should be aware that Owen was once married to Cristina - their relationship was beautiful yet complicated and they seemed to be matched perfectly in their intensity. When that did not work out Owen married someone else but this marriage was also brief mostly because the two wanted different things.

George was one of the original interns along with Meredith, Cristina, Izzie and Alex. He was loyal and kind and he was passionate about his job. He dated quite a few of his friends and colleagues but unfortunately the woman he had a serious crush on never responded in the same way. Instead he became friends with her but that did not stop George from trying to turn their friendship into a romantic relationship. Eventually he slept with his crush but she was in love with someone else and thus ended up bursting into tears in bed. He asked her out a couple of times but she rejected him. Later Meredith told her what Alex had been through and she decided to give him a chance. However, their relationship did not last.

Who thinks they know the name of the man that Miranda is currently married to? This man is Miranda's second husband. He initially worked as an attending anesthesiologist at Mercy West Medical Center but after the merger was transferred to Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital which was where he met Miranda. He immediately developed a crush on her and she was not indifferent to him either. She rebuffed him a couple of times but only because she liked him and because he made her nervous. This character tried to propose to Miranda via a crossword puzzle but things didn't go as planned and in the end Miranda proposed to him instead.

Remember when "McDreamy" and Meredith first got together? It seemed like nothing could stand in the way of their relationship even if Meredith did play hard to get at first. Because "McDreamy" was a good guy he decided to give their marriage another shot. However, all the while he talked poorly of his wife, even referring to her as "Satan". Lexie was Meredith's half-sister and as such everyone referred to her as "little Grey". Before April married her current husband she was actually married to one of her friends. Initially their relationship was a casual one but with time they developed real feelings for one another. However, they broke up after a pregnancy scare. This character was relieved to find out that she was not pregnant and therefore did not have to marry her friend and boyfriend. He however was furious and said that perhaps it was a sign that they weren't meant to be. They got back together later however but their marriage was strained, especially after the passing away of their baby.
