Friends is an iconic TV show that never gets old. It first aired in 1994 and was an immediate success. Its last episode aired ten years later, in 2004, much to the fans dismay. Indeed, had it been up to the fans they would have continued the show forever.
The show focused on six friends and their lives in New York city. The reason the show is still relevant today is because it deals with problems that are still as applicable as ever - love, dating, marriage, careers... Throughout the series we see the characters grow, and we too grow with them. We learned a lot from the situations they ended up in and we also learned not to take life too seriously.

Indeed, the only reason she lost weight was because she wanted to get back at Chandler for saying mean things about her weight behind her back.

Imagine this: someone steals your credit card and ends up spending insane amounts of money on frivolous things such as tap dancing classes. Luckily, you're given a chance to confront them. What do you do? Probably not befriend them, right? And yet that's exactly what one of the girls does. Of course, she went off to meat the thief (and the impersonator) with the intention of confronting her but found the thief so likeable that she ended up becoming her friend instead.
Who falls in love with her (significantly) older eye doctor?
Both Rachel and Monica go on countless of dates throughout the series. Some of the men they go out with are younger and some of them are older. But one of them ended up going out with a significantly older man who also turned out to be her eye doctor. The man's name was Richard and while the relationship was going strong at first it inevitably crumbled eventually due to the man's resistance to ever having kids again (he was divorced), leaving one of the girls incredibly depressed.
Who falls for a high school student?
We've already mentioned that Monica and Rachel go out with a lot of men during the course of the show. In the previous question, we've asked you who went out with a significantly older man who also happened to be her eye doctor. But can you remember who went out with a significantly younger man? The man was still a high school student when she went out with him and slept with him. Of course, she didn't know this at the time and when she found out about his real age, she obsessed about their sleeping together being illegal.
Who dyes all of her clothes pink at the Laundromat?
Both Rachel and Monica ended up in a lot of funny situations but who can forget that time when one of them dyed all of her clothes pink at the laundromat? Of course, it was an accident - she accidentally put one pink item of clothing among all whites - but it upset her greatly and made her feel like a total failure. Phoebe however thought that it was intentional and was so fascinated with the idea of dying your clothes a specific color she insisted she would do the same.
Who gets stung by a jellyfish and has Chandler pee on them?
Remember that episode where everyone - Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Joey, Ross and Chandler - ended up going to the beach? It was a great episode but it wasn't that great for one of the girls. Unfortunately, when one of them spent time on the beach with Joey and Chandler she got stung by a jellyfish. She was in a lot of pain but one of the guys then remembered that a jellyfish sting can be healed by pee. In season 1, Ross introduces his friends to his new roommate - a monkey named Marcel. Of course, it is completely illegal for him to keep the monkey but he grows extremely attached to it and even gets his friends to look after him. In one episode, Ross asks one of the girls to look after Marcel but she accidentally ends up losing him - he runs away when she is emptying the shoe that Marcel pooped in. Ross was less than pleased but they found Marcel eventually.

Both Rachel and Monica were, at certain points during the show, stuck for cash. Their career wasn't always going great which meant having to do jobs that neither of them liked. However, she left him after he decided to become the Ultimate Fighting Champion because she didn't want to see him get hurt.

One of the girls found it very hard to get along with her co-workers. In fact, her co-workers hated her so much they wanted her to quit. As such, they went out of their way to make her life a living hell. She then decided to hire Joey for the sole purpose of later firing him in front of her co-workers in order to intimidate them. The plan worked like a charm even though Joey was reluctant to be fired from his new job initially.
Who kisses her potential boss in a job interview?
Job interviews are never easy but one of the girls embarrassed herself greatly when she accidentally kissed her future boss at the end of her interview. What happened was this: she was about to leave his office and so he leaned over to open the door. She however mistook this lean for a lean in to kiss and gave him a peck. Of course, her future boss was shocked. Still, he gave her a second interview which was no more successful than the first but she got the job anyways.
Who gets drunk married in Las Vegas?
Can you remember whether it was Monica or Rachel who got drunk married in Las Vegas? The marriage was a complete accident in that neither the bride nor the groom remembered it the next morning. And when they were reminded of their marriage by their friends during breakfast, they were both horrified and shocked. They would have never done it had they been sober but drunk people have no sense. As such, they decided to get an annulment and when that failed, a divorce.
Who gets "close" with Chandler in London?
Ross' and Emily's wedding didn't really go as planned - as soon as Ross said the wrong name at the altar we knew that their marriage was doomed. There was no way Emily could forgive him the public humiliation so we were all prepared for what happened next. But Ross saying the wrong name wasn't just the only thing that wasn't planned - one of the girls ended up sleeping with Chandler the night before the wedding. In season 6 of the show, one of the girls decides to make an English trifle for Thanksgiving. However, the recipe book pages are stuck together and she ends up following half of the recipe for the English trifle and half of the recipe for shepherd's pie. The resulting trifle is made up of ladyfingers, jam, custard, raspberries, beef sautéed with peas and onions, bananas and whipped cream. When they can't turn off the radiator and the superintendent doesn't come to fix it they worry that he too is unhappy with the cookies. However, it turns out that he is just waiting to receive the right part for the radiator.

In the flashbacks, we can see that both Monica and Rachel looked quite different, in terms of their appearance, when they were teenagers. But it is not just their hairstyles or their clothes that have obviously changed - one of them underwent plastic surgery to fix her large nose. We all deal with breakups differently but all of us try to come up with projects that would keep our minds occupied. In season 3 of the show, one of the girls dealt with her breakup by deciding to make lots of jam (also known as a "jam plan"). However, she eventually realized that she was spending more money and time on making jam than she could sell it for and eventually came up with a different plan, much to Joey's disappointment.

Who can forget how excited Ross was for the birth of his son Ben? So it made sense that he was incredibly protective of him. It's never easy to come to terms with the fact that your ex-boyfriend or your ex-girlfriend has moved on. So when one of the girls learns that her ex-boyfriend is about to get married she initially decides against going to the wedding even though she is officially invited. However, she then realizes that she still has feelings for her ex-boyfriend and decides to fly to his wedding and tell him that she still loves him, much to the disapproval of her friends.
Who accidentally breaks Joey’s chair, Rosita?
In season 7 of Friends, one of the girls ends up accidentally breaking Joey's chair whom he has named "Rosita". Joey is distraught but then they go to the store and buy an even cooler lounge chair. In the meantime however Chandler comes over and sits down on the broken chair. Thinking that he broke the chair he replaces it with his own chair. But when Joey thinks that "Rosita" has magically fixed itself he breaks Chandler's chair so that he can have the new, much cooler chair.

Remember that time when Monica and Rachel went down to the storage room to look for the waffle maker? Of course, the girl who is with him is meant to help him, much to her dismay. It proves incredibly difficult to carry the couch up to Ross' apartment mostly because the stairs are too narrow.

Who was it that lost out on job advancement opportunities purely because she didn't smoke? Was it Monica or Rachel? Her boss would often talk to her colleagues during smoking breaks and end up giving them exciting projects as well as various job perks. Of course, when she learned of this she tried smoking but realized she hated it. She also tried to just go outside and stand beside her boss and colleagues without smoking but her boss and colleagues insisted that it wasn't good for her and that it would make her want to smoke again, which would be a pity seeing how she managed to quit it.
Who buys a hairless Sphynx cat and then sells it to Gunther for a profit?
In one of the episodes, one of the girls ends up buying a Sphinx cat which costs her a $1000. She is happy with the cat at first, especially because it resembles the cat that her grandmother had, but her friends hate it. Ross says it is inside out and Joey doesn't believe it is a cat at all. Eventually, she realizes that the cat is not as sweet as she thought it was and sells it onto Gunther for $1500.

One of the girls has the apartment all to herself for one night and says that it will be nice to have some alone time. Phoebe asks her if she is going to walk around naked as that is what she often does it when she is home alone. In one of the later seasons, one of the girls decides to propose to her boyfriend since she thinks that he is perfect for her. However, as she is proposing she breaks down crying and tells him that this is the reason that girls don't do it - they're far too emotional for it. We all have to make sacrifices when it comes to a relationship because no relationship works without compromise. So it was very touching to see one of the girls give up her dream wedding dress for her fiancé's favorite band after being blackmailed by another bride who wanted the dress (and who booked the band because she knew that her rival's fiancé liked them). She never told her fiancé about the sacrifice she made because she didn't want him to feel bad.
Who once kissed her sorority friend in college only to be called a liar by Phoebe who thinks that she's too "vanilla"?
We all do crazy things when we are in college and Friends characters are no exception. Indeed, in one of the later episodes we learn that one of the girls kissed her sorority friend in college. Phoebe however does not believe this story and thus goes along to dinner with the sorority friend to ask her if it really happened. The sorority friend denies the kiss but then later, when Phoebe is gone, tells the girl she kissed that she was in love with her and that of course she hasn't forgotten the kiss.
Who ends up using Joey’s made-up story that's guaranteed to get you "lucky"?
Remember that episode where we learned that Joey had a story which, when shared with the opposite sex, supposedly always leads to sleeping with them? The story was about a backpacking adventure in Europe and one of the girls used it to sleep with someone they liked. Unfortunately, her friends later found out about it and thought it was hilarious (especially because she claimed that the guy came on to her, and not the other way around). Can you remember whether it was Monica or Rachel who used the story?
Who was rumored to have both female and male reproductive parts at school?
One of the girls was so hated in high school that her enemies started a rumor that she had both female and male reproductive parts. The whole school knew about the rumor, except for the girl in question. Even Chandler, who went to an all-boys school had heard of the rumor. So, who was the rumor about - Monica or Rachel? Of course, the girl only found out about the rumor years after it was spread and was seriously upset about it.
Who ends up hooking up with Joey?
Ross and Rachel dated one another, as did Monica and Chandler. But who dated, or rather, hooked up with Joey? Was it Monica or Rachel? It happened during the friends trip to Barbados for Ross' boring conference. Of course, both Joey and the girl felt extremely guilty for hooking up and thus their relationship did not last very long thanks to their guilt. Still, the scenes were exciting to watch and it was fun to speculate as to how their relationship may turn out.
Who joins a baking class and is told that Joey’s cookies are better than hers?
In one of the episodes, one of the girls ends up in a beginners baking class with Joey. Her cookies turn out great which prompts the teacher to give her a tin foil star. However, when the teacher tastes Joey's cookies she likes them so much she makes the girl give her star to Joey. This upsets her greatly but there is no time for arguments because it turns out that neither she nor Joey have paid for the class in the first place.
Who goes to a massage place only to find out that Phoebe – who claims she hates massage chains – works there?
When one of the girls gets a gift certificate for a massage at a massage chain center, Phoebe gets very upset because she claims that the massage chains steal business from independent massage therapists. The girl ends up going to the massage chain anyway and learns that Phoebe actually works there even though she tries to conceal her identity by saying that her name is Ikea and by pretending she is Swedish. Whose hair goes frizzy due to humidity in Barbados?
When the friends go to Barbados for Ross's boring conference they are incredibly disappointed with the weather for it rains most of the time. To make matters worse, someone's hair goes incredibly frizzy which makes her look less than attractive. Can you remember whether it was Monica's or Rachel's hair that went frizzy due to humidity in Barbados? She later dealt with the humidity by getting her hair braided into numerous braids, a hairstyle her boyfriend did not like at all.
Who does Chandler accidentally see naked after she fails to realize that the crochet blanket is see-through?
In one of the earlier episodes, Chandler casually walks into Monica's and Rachel's apartment and accidentally sees one of them naked. She had just had a shower and upon seeing Chandler, drops the towel in shock. She then grabs a crochet blanket from the couch and screams at Chandler for barging in unannounced. Chandler stops her mid-sentence and tells her that because the blanket is crochet he can see her private areas, which infuriates her immensely and which causes her to later seek revenge by trying to catch him naked too.
