The entirety of the MCU will be coming to a head in "Avengers: Infinity War," and the road has been a long one. Starting with 2008's "Iron Man," Marvel Studios attempted to accomplish the unthinkable, and the roots from this accomplishment have spanned through multiple movies set in different places featuring vastly different and unique characters.
What Marvel has been able to pull off is impressive to say the least. No one knew how people would react to Iron Man and the Avengers set up. But their gamble paid off and resulted in one of the world's largest franchises. What makes the MCU so special is that it isn't just a series of sequels. It's an interconnected group of franchises, each led by a terrific cast of characters.
