Only A Real Gamer Will Know If These Characters Are In Super Smash Bros Ultimate (Or Not)

Since the latest installment in Nintendo's crossover one-on-one battle game was released, video game fans everywhere have been glued to their Nintendo Switch trying to unlock every single character and learn every move of the ones they like so they can win battles against their friends and strangers on the Internet. The games in the SSB series always have a ton of different characters from Nintendo games and other game franchises and fans are always looking forward to hearing news about the next release in the series so they can find out whether or not their favorite new character is going to be included in the lineup.

In total, there are 63 characters in the latest installment. That's a whole bunch of characters for fans to unlock while they battle their way through SSBU's various stages. Of all these characters, 13 of them are brand new and have never been featured in a previous SSB game. For video game fans, keeping track of all these characters and knowing which ones they have the chance of unlocking or seeing in an online battle while they're playing can be pretty tough! But a serious gamer will definitely remember which of these characters are in the roster and which of them are nowhere to be seen.

Toon Link from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Toon Link is the name of the form of Link that appears in the game The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. This game was released in 2003 on Nintendo's game console, the GameCube. This game has a much more cell shaded style and looks pretty different from most of the other games in The Legend of Zelda franchise. Incineroar from Pokémon

Incineroar is a character from the Pokémon who was introduced in Generation VII of the Pokémon franchise. Incineroar is the final evolution of one of the three starter Pokémon in the Alola region, the region that a Pokémon trainer ventures around during the Pokémon Sun and Moon and Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon games. Incineroar is a dual-type Fire/Dark Pokémon who is pretty powerful in the Pokémon series, meaning that this Pokémon would be pretty perfect for SSBU if Nintendo decided to add it into the series. In Pokémon, it has some pretty intense scratching and fire-type moves that really take out opponents.

Peaches from Far Cry 5

Far Cry 5 is a game that's set in the fictional region of Hope County, Montana. The player controls a nameless deputy whose gender and appearance can be customized as they travel around Hope County doing missions in order to help free the region from the rule of the extremist group that has taken over the area. In order to this, the player can get assistance from different characters in the game, both human and animal. One of the "fangs for hire" in the game is a mountain lion named Peaches. Is Peaches one of the characters available to play in SSBU?

Villager from Animal Crossing: New Leaf

In the Animal Crossing series, there are a lot of characters. Animal Crossing: New Leaf starts as the others do with the main character moving to a new town to start their new life in a brand new house. Once they arrive, they learn that they're actually the new mayor of the town! The player then controls the villager as they make friends with the animal villagers that live in the town, help to fill up the museum, and help improve the town. Animal Crossing: New Leaf is a pretty peaceful game, but does that mean Villager can't be in SSBU?

Corrin from Fire Emblem Fates

Corrin is the default name of the playable character from Fire Emblem Fates. Even though Corrin is the default name of this character, the player can totally change that. The player can change a lot of things about Corrin including the character's name, gender, and appearance. In Fire Emblem Fates, Corrin is a member of the family that rules the Hoshido region where Fire Emblem Fates is set. Like other members of the family that rules this kingdom, Corrin has the unique ability to turn into a dragon. Is this character one of the ones that can be played in SSBU?

Ellie from The Last of us

Ellie is one of the main characters from the game The Last of Us. This game is one that is set after a zombie fungus breaks out and takes over the world. Ellie is one of two characters that the player controls throughout the course of the game and is a teenage girl who was born several years after the zombie apocalypse broke out. Prior to the events of the game, Ellie was bit by a zombie but surprisingly, did not find herself turning into one like everyone else who had been bit. Is this brave character found in SSBU?

Mewtwo from Pokémon

Mewtwo is one of the characters from the Pokémon franchise. Mewtwo was introduced in Generation I of Pokémon and is a Psychic-type Legendary Pokémon. A Legendary Pokémon is one that is so rare in the Pokémon world that there are myths and legends surrounding it. Legendary Pokémon are typically the central part of the story of the Generation of Pokémon they're from and are not typically able to be caught under normal circumstances in the game. In the Pokémon franchise, Mewtwo is part of the Mew Duo and was created by science, unlike other Pokémon. Is Mewtwo available to be unlocked in SSBU?

Samus Aran from Metroid

Samus Aran made her first appearance in the very first Metroid game in 1986. Samus Aran is a pretty tough character who is a former soldier for the Galactic Federation which means she definitely knows how to take out her opponents, one of the most important parts of being a playable character in SSBU. Throughout the Metroid games, Samus Aran is shown as a bounty hunter for the Galactic Federation. In order to help her do the best job she can at this, she often wears her tools on the futuristic blue suit she wears. Is Samus Aran a character in SSBU?

Wii Fit Trainer from Wii Fit

Who could forget about the Wii Fit? Like other games that use the console's motion detection system to watch the player as they mimic the moves of the character on screen like the Just Dance series or Wii Sports games, Wii Fit has the player use the Wii Balance Board to complete different yoga, aerobics, and strength training moves as the Wii Fit Trainer does them on the screen. Even though Wii Fit definitely isn't the most action-packed games, some of the characters that are included in SSBU definitely show that not every character that joins the battle has to be super tough!

We all know that most of the characters in SSBU are pretty tough, right? The whole game is based around going on head-to-head battles up against each other and trying to be the first one to take out your opponent before you get knocked off the platform yourself. That means that many of the characters are known for being really tough in the games they come from. But there are some that aren't which is pretty surprising! Isabelle is the assistant to the mayor in Animal Crossing: New Leaf and is totally always cheerful and happy, but does that mean she can't be in SSBU?

Link is a staple in the SSB series and Zelda appears in a ton of them as well. How cool would it be if Pokémon were real? Unfortunately for us, being a Pokémon trainer isn't really possible outside of the games. When we set down our game console, we have to go back to the real world where catching, training, and battling Pokémon is no longer a real thing. So sad! In the Pokémon series, when a Pokémon trainer enters a battle, they instruct the Pokémon in their party to do different moves in order to take out their opponent. Daisy is a character super similar to Princess Peach in that she appears in the Mario franchise and is also a princess of a fictional kingdom within the game franchise. Since then, she's been a playable character in several different Mario spin-off games. According to the description for this character on Mario Part 4, Daisy is the love interest of Luigi, just like Peach is the love interest of Mario. Is Daisy in SSBU?

Ice Climber is a game from 1985 that Nintendo published on their game system, the Nintendo Entertainment System. In the SSB games, there are quite a few characters that actually act as a duo instead of a single character. The player controls them both simultaneously, so the fact that there are two different characters in this pair of Ice Climbers definitely doesn't mean it's impossible to include them in SSBU. These two characters climb through the levels in the game they're from and use the mallets they carry in their hands to battle enemies throughout the game. Do they also appear in SSBU?

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was released in 1998 by Nintendo and is one of the games in The Legend of Zelda series. Like other games in The Legend of Zelda, the player controls a Hylian named Link who must save the fictional kingdom of Hyrule and, in doing so, save Princess Zelda. Each game in The Legend of Zelda series features Link and Zelda at different stages of their life and with different designs. In Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, the two protagonists are young. Coco from Crash Bandicoot

Coco is the younger sister of Crash Bandicoot and appears multiple times throughout the Crash Bandicoot games. In some levels of the games, Coco is the character that the player can control as they run and jump through the level, trying to avoid obstacles and make it all the way to the end without getting caught or running into anything so they can stop the super mischievous villain of the series, Dr. Neo Cortex. Coco is like Crash in that she's also a bandicoot. She wears a pair of overalls, has her hair in a ponytail, and often holds her laptop.

Wario is a character from the Mario franchise who was designed to be the rival of Mario, the title character from the series. Wario made his first appearance in a game when he appeared in the 1992 game Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins which was released for the Game Boy. In this game, Wario was the final boss and main villain of the series who the player had to battle at the very end of the game in order to finish it. He appears in several other games, including being the main character of the Wario Land and WarioWare games.

Palutena is a character who is from the series Kid Icarus. In this series, Palutena is the Goddess of Light, opposite of Medusa who is said in this game series to be the Goddess of Darkness. In the series, Palutena is known for loving humans and wanting to use her powers to help them while Medusa dislikes them and enjoys making life more difficult for them by turning them to stone. Because of this, Palutena got angry and banished her to the underworld where Medusa started working with others living in the underworld to plot against Palutena. Is this character found in SSBU?

In the Pokémon franchise, one of the main villains is Team Rocket. Team Rocket is a corporation that most people know for two of their agents: Jessie and James. These two are well-known for fans of the Pokémon anime or for the early games because of the fact that they're constantly trying to catch rare Pokémon so they can sell them and make a huge profit. These two are definitely up to no good!

Rosalina and Luma are a pair of characters who are found in the Mario franchise. Rosalina and Luma make their debut in the Mario series in Super Mario Galaxy in which we meet Rosalina for the first time! Matt and Emily are a couple from the super spooky survival game Until Dawn. One of them is the Zoey skin, a skin released during Season 4 from the Sweet Tooth set.

After Link defeats Waterblight Ganon inside Divine Beast Vah Ruta, Link can use the power Mipha's Grace each time he's defeated in order to restore his health and help him keep going without losing his progress. After this, he was given a baby named Heather Mason to care for, not knowing that the baby was the reincarnation of Alessa Gillespie, the girl who was meant to bring for the "god" of the cult that had taken over Silent Hill. In Silent Hill 3, Heather Mason is a 17 year old girl and the main character of the game.

K.K. Slider is a special character from the Animal Crossing series. He has appeared in multiple different Animal Crossing games and appears in different places, depending on the game. K.K. Slider is a dog that appears at special times in the games to put on performances for the villagers that live in the towns in Animal Crossing. For instance, in Animal Crossing: Wild World, K.K. Slider would play concerts in The Roost cafe on certain nights while in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, he plays in Club LOL on certain nights after the player unlocks it. As his name would suggest, Bowser Jr. is the son of the main villain in the Mario franchise, Bowser. Bowser has been the main antagonist of the Mario franchise for a long time but Bowser Jr. wasn't actually introduced into the series as a character of his own until the release of the game Super Mario Sunshine which came out in 2002. That's over 20 years since Mario appeared in the first Donkey Kong game and 19 years since the arcade game Mario Bros. was released and introduced us to Mario! Bowser Jr. is just like Bowser in that he wants to defeat Mario.

Fire Emblem Awakening is a game that was released in the incredibly large and long-running Fire Emblem series. Fire Emblem Awakening is a game that's set 2000 years after the first game in the series was set and has Chrom as one of the main characters. King Dedede is the main villain in the Kirby series. He made his debut in the game Kirby's Dream Land which was released for the Game Boy in 1992. Since making his debut in that Kirby game, King Dedede has appeared in a ton more games in the Kirby series and has even appeared in spin-off media like comics and the anime series as the villain of those as well. Solid Snake is a character from the Metal Gear series. Solid Snake made his first appearance in a video game when he appeared in the game Metal Gear in 1987 which was released originally for the MSX2 system in Japan but was later released on other consoles like the NES, PlayStation 2, GameCube, Xbox 360, Playstation Vita, and others. Solid snake is a super tough character in the games he appears in and is shown to be a former Green Beret whose impressive skills have gotten him recruited into the elite special forces unit FOXHOUND. The first game Kirby appeared in was called Kirby's Dream Land and was released for the Game Boy in 1992. Since then, Kirby has appeared in a ton of different games throughout the series named after this character. Kirby has a round, pink body with short arms and red shoes on his equally short feet. Kirby's body is super soft which allows him to stretch, expand, or contract down as needed in order to float through the air or squeeze into tough places. Kirby's main attack against opponents involves inhaling everything around him, including the opponent, in order to gain their skills.

Bayonetta, whose real name is Cereza, is the main character from the series of games she appears in which are all named after her. The very first Bayonetta game was released in 2009 in Japan and 2010 in the rest of the world on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles. Bayonetta was born as the daughter of Lumen Sage Father Balder and Umbra Witch Rosa. The two of them getting together and having a child caused a serious rift between the groups they were from and caused her parents to be locked away and cast out of their homes. In the game, she goes back to her home to learn about her past.
