Ross Eustace Geller, Ph.D, is a fictional character on the American sitcom, FRIENDS, that aired on NBC from 1994 to 2004. It is considered to be one of the most popular TV shows.

Ross is the older brother of Monica Geller, and the two grew up in Long Island. Ross and Rachel went to high school together, where he had a secret crush on her, and was the co-founder of the "I Hate Rachel Green Club". Chandler and Ross met though college, and eventually became best friends, and then brothers-in-law when Chandler marries Monica.

Being a paleontologist, Ross is the only character out of the group with a doctorate degree. He also teaches college level classes. Ross is characterized as a nerd, and although he usually has good intentions, he can be quite pretentious and easily irritated.
