Only 90s Kids Will Remember These Movies!

As the millennium was coming to an end, the 90s were a time where old trends were being questioned and new ones were being created. This in turn led to more films about the environment, as there was now a stronger awareness of what we were doing to our Earth which cartoons like Captain Planet crammed in our faces. There was also the rise in sports-related movies such as Mighty Ducks and Angels in the Outfield which were entertaining in that they were about kids and ragtag teams trying to be the best despite their differences with either a good coach or some ‘divine intervention’. We even had the Disney Renaissance, which was in full bloom after films like The Little Mermaid and The Rescuers Down Under started it. They were a stream of masterpieces that pushed the boundaries of animation and were commercially successful, which Disney has never truly been able to recapture since. Then other non-Disney studios tried to get in on the action, but with not as much success by comparison. Whether we look back on these movies with fondness or embarrassment (now that we’re older and our tastes have changed), it is time to see what you remember from this interesting period in kids films.
