Legally Blonde is a 2001 comedy film about a fashion merchandising student named Elle Woods who spontaneously applies to and gets into Harvard for the sole purpose of impressing her ex-boyfriend in the hopes of getting him back. As you can imagine, her ex-boyfriend is shocked to see her there but is not remotely interested in getting back with Elle. Indeed, he already has a new girlfriend. Few fans know that the film was actually based on a book of the same name. The film performed rather well, no doubt thanks to Reese Witherspoon's (who played Elle Woods) amazing performance. Indeed, Witherspoon received a Golden Globe nomination as well as an MTV Movie Award for her role. The film itself also went on to receive a Golden Globe Award nomination. It also made it to Bravo's 2007 "100 Funniest Movies" list.
