Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Spongebob Squarepants! This tune rings out in the homes of people all across the world! This Nickelodeon show is a timeless classic that pretty much every knows! This plucky yellow sponge has been on television screens since 1999! This show has such a great following that despite being marketed towards children; people of all ages watch it! In fact, the fans are so dedicated that they’ve started a petition to have something Spongebob related at the Superbowl in 2019 in honor of the late creator Stephen Hillenburg. It would be pretty exciting to see that happy little sponge singing Sweet Victory on the jumbotron!
This incredible show has gone on to have 12 seasons, soon to be three movies, books, music, theme park rides, a broadway show and in 2019 it will have its 20th anniversary! It’s so cool to think that Spongebob has been a household name for 20 years. This iconic sponge is going to be on screen for a long time because he’s just so lovable with his various antics and genuine zest for life! He can be a bit annoying sometimes but his positivity is infectious and he should be admired for it!
Where does Spongebob live?
He lives in a pineapple under the sea; he’s Spongebob Squarepants! But where exactly is that pineapple located? Obviously he’s right next to Squidward’s house and Patrick’s rock but which town are they in? The town is big and is home to many fun friends like Larry, Mr. Krabs, Fred, and even the guy who screams “CHOCOLATE!!!” The town has all the amenities that a town needs, they have a downtown, quite a few restaurants, a grocery store and a few places to hang out. Really this town is a bustling metropolis where Spongebob and his friends can hang out, shop and work!
Who is Spongebob's best friend?
This lovable starfish is Spongebob’s best friend! He can be seen in almost every episode, usually getting himself into some kind of trouble, being lazy, or consuming large amount of krabby patties. He’s a very relatable character. This character is Spongebob’s partner in crime in almost every scheme he gets into. If the schemes aren’t instigated by Spongebob this character usually has something to do. He’s infamous for a few scenes in the show. Particularly the one where they’re looking for a dangerous person and he yells WEE WOO into the walky talky, and the episode where he works at the Krusty Krab.

Spongebob’s pet snail is one of his best friends. Despite being a snail, he does Meow but it seems that all the snails in Bikini Bottom make cat-like noises. Patrick’s house has always been a bit of a mystery. Theres times where his rock lifts up and shows that the underside is flat, but how would Patrick fit? Other times it is shown that there is an area with a television and a couch, but at other times we see Patrick in bed. What the inside of his house looks like is a true mystery. However, the outside is pretty clear. It’s a giant dome shaped rock with a weather vane on top. The point of the weather vane is unknown as there isn’t any wind underwater, but it might be to show which way the current is moving!
Where does Spongebob work?
Spongebob and Squidward work in the same restaurant that’s owned by Mr. Krabs. Its home to the famous Krabby Patty which is supposed to be one of the most delicious hamburgers in the entirety of the ocean, thanks to it’s secret formula. While Mr. Krabs sits in his office and counts his money, Spongebob cooks the patties and Squidward reads a magazine while pretending to be a cashier. The restaurant’s only piece of uniform is the hat that both Spongebob and Squidward wear and a name tag. The restaurant has been broken a couple of times throughout the seasons but is always built back up the next episode! Let’s hope Mr. Krabs isn’t spending too much!
What does Mrs. Puff teach?
Mrs. Puff is the teacher who has a bit of an anger issue. She’s Spongebob’s teacher and despite her best efforts, Spongebob has never succeeded in anything related to her class. She’s a pufferfish which comes into play quite a bit in the series, with her puffing up when she gets scared or when Spongebob puts her in a dangerous situation. At one point she is seen to be dating Mr. Krabs and he spoils her with lavish gifts. She appreciates the gifts but isn’t materialistic and just enjoys his company. Despite her anger towards Spongebob she can be a very lovable character!

Squidward is Spongebob’s crotchety next door neighbor. He lives in the house that looks like a face and loves to spend his days sunbathing, making music, or really anything that has to do with avoiding Spongebob. Squidward is very big on having peace and quiet in his life, to the point where in one episode he moves out of Bikini Bottom and to a community that consists of just other Octopus people like himself. There he finds life to be very mundane and boring and even begins to miss Spongebob. Deep down we all known Squidward loves his kooky neighbor!

Mr. Krabs is the crab who owns the Krusty Krab. He invented the Krabby Patty and it’s secret formula and is well known for being quite the businessman (even if it requires cutting some costs). He employs both Spongebob and Squidward, never really bothering to hire a third employee. He probably worries about it being too expensive. He has a daughter named Pearl and can usually be found either in his office or his house, spending time with his favorite things. He can be a bit of a scrooge sometimes, but Spongebob has a lot of respect and love for his boss!
What happens to Sandy in the winter?
Sandy Cheeks is a land squirrel who lives in a tree dome near Spongebob. She’s has a cute southern drawl when she speaks and is very charming. Since she is a squirrel and not a sea creature, her dome is kept water free and its oxygenated so she can breathe when at home. Theres episodes where Spongebob and Patrick visit her in the dome but are too polite to say something about needing water to survive and almost dry out completely, so usually when they visit Sandy will supply them with a glass helmet full of water so they can hang out and enjoy each others company.
Where is Sandy from?
Sandy is from the state where everything’s bigger! She loves her life under the sea and she loves her friends but she often talks about how much she misses home. In one episode she even considers moving back and sings a song on her guitar about going home to the state that she loves. In one episode, Spongebob takes on the shape of this state and starts making fun of it to annoy Sandy and boy does it work! She uses her karate to show Spongebob that he needs to be nicer to him and have a bit of Southern hospitality.
What instrument does Squidward play?
As mentioned, Squidward loves music. He spends a lot of his free time off work, standing by his upstairs window and playing this instrument for the entirety of Bikini Bottom to hear. The only problem is that he’s no good at it. In his case, passion certainly doesn’t make perfection, except that doesn’t stop him. He’ll proudly stand at his window and warble through some songs, one time even prompting a vet to come to his house to enquire about the odd animal sounds that he heard. This still doesn’t lower Squidward’s confidence. He still believes he has lots of unrecognized talent!
Who is this character?
This character is Mr. Krab’s nemesis. He is the owner of the Chum Bucket and husband to Karen. He is perhaps the smallest character on the show, which allows him to slip through the various cracks of the Krusty Krab except he’s never fast enough to not be caught by Mr. Krabs. His life is dedicated to getting the Krabby Patty secret formula and comes close quite a few times in the series while using his high tech inventions and disguises. The only problem is that Mr. Krabs is always one step ahead of him. This character is named for his species of sea creature!

Larry is the lovable strong character who can mostly be seen at the beach playing volleyball, lifeguarding or helping Spongebob with the different shenanigans he gets into. He’s a popular character and is friends with most of Bikini Bottom’s residents. He’s also a body builder who loves to focus on taking care of his body even going as far as ingesting tanning pills to make himself look even better. He can be a bit mean sometimes. When he ran against Patrick, he made some mean comments to try and make Patrick look bad. However he’s generally a nice guy.

This lovable pirate can be seen in quite a few episodes of Spongebob. He has a parrot as a side kick and the two often have witty conversation about whats going on in the episode. The imagination episode of Spongebob is one of the classics. Patrick and Spongebob spend the entire day playing imagination after finding one of these. Squidward watches from the outside and just believes that they’re being childish. It isn’t until he hears actual car noises coming from inside that he begins to feel intrigued. Squidward is crotchety and struggles with using his imagination but once Spongebob and Patrick get out of this, Squidward gets inside and begins trying to get it to work. Sandy is really good at it and Spongebob does his best but can sometimes fall short of great. Pretty Patties are Spongebob’s invention, which is a play on a Krabby Patty, that he sells on a roadside stand road with Patrick. At first these patties are a hit with the people of Bikini Bottom. Everyone is lined up and crowding to get to try a Pretty Patty. Theres 22 different versions of the Pretty Patty to appeal to everyone. However, the patties had a certain tone-changing issue and it began to really affect the citizens of Bikini Bottom and they all came back upset and wanting their money back. Spongebob ends up scrapping the patties after he sees the trouble they caused.

Grandma Squarepants is Spongebob’s grandmother. He likes to visit her where he gets to eat this delicious food that is most certainly made with love. Her starring episode is “Grandma’s Kisses”, where she drives Spongebob to work and gives him a kiss on the forehead. Doodlebob is one of the most iconic minor characters on the show. He has small appearances but after a meme came out a few years ago, his popularity skyrocketed. He does it all for fun, using a net to swat the creature out of the water before letting it go and giving it a chance to swim off before trying to catch it again. This scene has been a hit in the meme world for many years now. The absurdity of Patrick’s question is what makes it so hilarious. This questions comes when Squidward is trying to put a band together. He recruits anyone who can help and asks them all if they play instruments, then to clarify Patrick asks if mayonnaise is an instrument. Obviously Patrick doesn’t go on to play mayonnaise in the band, but what is the answer that Squidward gives him? What is the Krusty Krab shaped like?
The Krusty Krab is named after its owner Mister Krabs. Stephen Hillenburg, the creator of the show was a marine biology teacher. So when he was adding things to the show, he would try and add as many aquatic jokes as possible. Even though Mr. Krabs is a crab, his restaurant is very reminiscent of something used to catch a different kind of crustacean in the ocean. A quick hint is that in the real world, a character like Larry might get caught by this contraption. They try to wake her from her slumber and she starts having a dream about two cowboys that are her nemesis’. To humor her, Spongebob and Patrick go along with it, but hibernating Sandy is an angry Sandy. So they do run into some trouble.
Why does Sandy wear a space suit?
Sandy is a land squirrel who lives underwater in her treedome. This southern girl has Texas in her heart and a big love for karate. So how come she is always wearing a space suit? If she was looking to go to space, she went down instead of up when choosing a place for a new home. Despite a possible dream to be an astronaut, Sandy seems to be happy underwater with all of her Bikini Bottom friends and while she might sometimes miss Texas, she seems to have adjusted pretty well to living under the sea. What secret is King Neptune hiding?
This question is referring to the King Neptune from the Spongebob movie rather from the one in the television show. The character design between the two is quite different so the one being discussed is the King Neptune in the photo accompanying this question. King Neptune is the Supreme Ruler of the Sea. His name is often used in phrases like “Oh my Neptune” and “Dear Neptune!”. He appears at the Krusty Krab looking for his crown as its gone missing. This snail is owned by Squidward. She’s a female snail with a purple shell that has a large pink bow on top of it. She has bright blue eyes and long eyelashes. Her boyfriend is Spongebob’s snail Gary. Squidward goes out and buys this snail to have as a pet in the episode ‘The Great Snail Race’. Her job is to race against Gary and to beat him in a race. However, it becomes obvious very quickly that she has feelings for Gary and at the end of the episode, the two go off together into the sunset, leaving behind slime trails.

The Krabby Patty secret formula is one of the biggest mysteries of the entire Spongebob series. So many times Plankton has come close to getting the formula from Mr. Krabs’ claws but he also hasn't succeeded an equal amount of times. Each Krabby Patty that leaves the restaurant has a hidden component to it, but does anyone outside of the employees know what that is? Has Plankton ever figured out what is it? There are lots of different options that it could be. A few times Mr. Krabs has given Plankton false information or given him blank information about what the special ingredient is.
Who always complained about having no pickles on his sandwich?
This character is well known for his complaints about lack of pickles on his Krabby Patties. Whenever he goes into the Krusty Krab and orders a Krabby Patty he always complains about how there are never any pickles. So in a final attempt to impress him, Spongebob makes the Krabby Patty for him and the character tries to get away with hiding pickles under his tongue so that he can fake having something to be upset about. Ultimately, Spongebob and this character end up becoming somewhat friends. They are both able to live peacefully in Bikini Bottom, this character is even often seen in the background.
Which villain is this?
This villain is another Spongebob character who has gone viral in a meme. He is one of the villains of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy, perhaps one of their best known villains! The meme he’s portrayed in is when he tries to return Patrick’s wallet to him, but despite proving to Patrick that its his wallet, the starfish refuses to take it and continues to claim that the wallet doesn’t belong to him which causes this villain lots of frustration. His name is very similar to a sea creature that his mask resembles, but a few letters are left out to keep it different.

This character is one of the only recurring ghosts in the series. He has a bright green glow to him and is dressed like a pirate. He is supposed to be the bad ruler of the sea but he often comes off more as a bit petty. He has lots of ghost friends and likes to scare people whenever he can.
