When it comes to playing professionally in the NFL, every kid dreams of being the starting quarterback of a Super Bowl winning team. After all, when it comes to awards and glory, quarterbacks always seem to get more than other players in the league. They serve as the leader of a team, and a good quarterback can make or break a squad. Sure, there have been some truly underwhelming quarterbacks to win a Super Bowl, but for the most part, you can't be a scrub and make it to the top. As such, one could make the argument that quarterback is the most judged position in the entire league.
Throughout the history of the game, each team has seen some tremendous quarterbacks play under center, though even some of the best to lace up their cleats have failed to win Super Bowls. Nevertheless, having a franchise quarterback who can lead a team can go a long way in being a successful unit. With each passing generation, we see new quarterbacks emerge, looking to stake their claim at being a legend of the sport.
Today, we are going to have you rate 35 current NFL quarterbacks. Judging by your answers, we will reveal if you are a real fan.
How Would You Rate Matt Ryan?
Matty Ice is the current quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons, and he has put together a solid career so far. In 2016, Matt Ryan was named the MVP of the NFL, but he ultimately fell short in the Super Bowl. His follow up campaign wasn’t as successful, but the guy has proven himself.
How Would You Rate Joe Flacco?
Joe Flacco may lack some of the impressive accolades that other top quarterbacks in the league possess, but the guy’s performance during the Raven’s post-season run several years ago was nothing short of brilliant. He was instrumental in the team winning a Super Bowl in Ray Lewis’s final season in the NFL.
How Would You Rate Tyrod Taylor?
This particular question is sure to cause a divide amongst fans, and it may even drive a wedge between current Buffalo Bills players. Tyrod Taylor may not put up the flashiest numbers, but the guy can churn out a win. His benching during the season nearly cost the Bills their first playoff birth since 1999.
How Would You Rate Cam Newton?
Cam Newton is a quarterback who can play brilliantly one week, and then look average the next. You could cite a lack of weapons, particularly when Greg Olsen is out, but players have done more with less. But, when Cam is firing on all cylinders, there isn’t a team in the league that can get in his way.
How Would You Rate Mitch Trubisky?
With his rookie season finished, people are going to scrutinize every snap that Trubisky took this season. He was taken with the second pick in the draft, meaning that he has a small window to prove himself to Bears fans. The team struggled mightily this year, but they were also largely devoid of any talent.
How Would You Rate Andy Dalton?
Andy Dalton has had an intriguing career so far in the NFL. He has led the Cincinnati Bengals to the playoffs multiple times, but he has failed to win any game that matters. Dalton does not put up earth-shattering numbers, but the guy wins, and he is a consistent quarterback.
How Would You Rate DeShone Kizer?
Over the last two seasons, the Cleveland Browns have put up a pathetic 1-31 overall record. Their head coach, Hue Jackson, was retained for this upcoming season, much to the dismay of fans. With a record like this, it goes without saying that Kizer has had a rough go of things while under center.
How Would You Rate Dak Prescott?
After bursting onto the scene during his rookie campaign in 2017, people were eager to crown Dak Prescott the next great quarterback in the NFL. But, as we have seen, the sophomore slump is for real, and Dak struggled mightily at times this season, particularly when Zeke was serving his suspension.
How Would You Rate Trevor Siemian?
The Denver Broncos have been searching for their next quarterback ever since Peyton Manning guided them to their most recent Super Bowl win. Trevor Siemian has flashed at times, but the team does not feel like he is the man to get the job done. The same is said for Paxton Lynch, who has bust written all over him.
How Would You Rate Matt Stafford?
Matthew Stafford has a canon for an arm, and he has largely operated without a semblance of a running game. This means that he has been carrying this team ever since Calvin Johnson decided to hang up his cleats. The Lions always appear to be on the cusp of turning the corner with Stafford under center.
How Would You Rate Aaron Rodgers?
Watching Aaron Rodgers fall to the Packers on draft day may have been painful, but it turned out to be the best thing to happen to him. He was able to sit behind a legend for several years before taking the reigns and winning a Super Bowl. There are people that believe that Rodgers is the best quarterback in the league.
How Would You Rate Deshaun Watson?
Deshaun Watson wasted little time in becoming the talk of the league after his impressive rookie season. Unfortunately, an injury robbed Watson of what was shaping up to be a record-setting year. Expect him to come out with a bang once he hits the field for the first time next year.
How Would You Rate Andrew Luck?
Injuries and a lack of offensive line have truly hampered Andrew Luck’s career. When he is healthy and firing on all cylinders, the guy is going to shred your defense, and there isn’t much that you can do about it. The Colts need to wise up and put some protective pieces around Luck, because he isn’t getting younger.
How Would You Rate Blake Bortles?
Thanks to their incredible defense and stout running game, the Jacksonville Jaguars reached the playoffs for the first time in what felt like decades. Blake Bortles was the team’s first-round selection from a few years ago, and he played well against New England. Many feel that the team won in spite of him.
How Would You Rate Patrick Mahomes?
The Mahomes era is about to get underway in Kansas City, and their fans seem to be buzzing with excitement. Alex Smith was fantastic for the team, but he couldn’t win in the playoffs. Mahomes has a rocket for an arm and some truly gifted players to make his life a little easier during the season.
How Would You Rate Philip Rivers?
Even though he is getting long in the tooth, Philip Rivers proved that he is still one of the most feared players in the league during his stellar 2017 campaign. With a healthier offense than he has had in quite some time, Rivers was on the cusp of returning Los Angeles to the playoffs.
How Would You Rate Jared Goff?
Jared Goff has now completed two NFL seasons, and his career has been a Jekyll and Hyde situation. He was abysmal during his rookie season, looking lost and completely unprepared for life in the NFL. This season, however, Jared Goff completely balled out and led his team to the playoffs.
How Would You Rate Ryan Tannehill?
Ryan Tannehill has shown plenty of promise during his NFL career, though he has yet to cross that threshold into great quarterback territory. The Dolphins are unbalanced to say the least, and Tannehill’s injury left a sour taste in the mouths of fans this season. They will be looking to rebound in 2018.
How Would You Rate Case Keenum?
Ladies and gentlemen, allow us to present the unlikeliest success story of 2017. Case Keenum is perhaps the most prolific college quarterback of all time, but his professional career hasn’t been all too stellar. Then, from out of nowhere, he played lights out football en route to an NFC Championship Game appearance.
How Would You Rate Tom Brady?
Your typical NFL season goes something like this: teams try really hard, but ultimately lose to New England as they head into the playoffs as the favorite to reach the Super Bowl. During that time, Brady is going to torch every team he plays. Dude is the GOAT, and it’s not even a debate.
How Would You Rate Drew Brees?
For a while there, it seemed like the New Orleans Saints were going back to the Super Bowl. Drew Brees is always going to put up video game numbers, but their running game and defense were exceptional this season. Expect them to be a trendy pick for the Super Bowl going into 2018.
How Would You Rate Eli Manning?
Since being drafted in 2004, Eli Manning has been racking up crazy stats and leading the New York Giants. His on-field prowess has been largely debated over the years, but that didn’t stop him from defeating the New England Patriots twice in the Super Bowl. He will make his way into Canton.
How Would You Rate Josh McCown?
Amazing as it is, Josh McCown is still competing in the NFL. It seems like the man has played for nearly every team in the league at some point in his career, and he currently finds himself in the driver’s seat for the New York Jets. Many feel that they will draft a quarterback and use McCown as a mentor.
How Would You Rate Derek Carr?
Derek Carr had a fantastic 2016 season that saw him in legitimate contention for the MVP, but that all changed when he suffered a gruesome injury. His 2017 campaign left a lot to be desired, and it seems like there were some serious problems in the Raiders locker room during the year.
How Would You Rate Carson Wentz?
Not unlike Derek Carr’s 2016 season, Carson Wentz was in the discussion for winning league MVP before suffering a season-ending injury. The Eagles looked dead in the water, and yet, they have managed to make their way to the Super Bowl. It will be a very bittersweet day for Wentz.
How Would You Rate Ben Roethlisberger?
Despite playing at a small college, Big Ben has seen and done it all during his NFL career. The man is a 2-time Super Bowl winner, and he places in the top 10 in a number of impressive statistical categories. He has spent his entire career with the Steelers, anchoring the franchise.
How Would You Rate Jimmy Garoppolo?
Try telling someone in San Francisco or in New England that Jimmy G isn’t the second coming and watch them freak out on you and call you a fool. Despite a tiny sample size, people are ready to crown Jimmy G the next great NFL quarterback. San Francisco desperately wants to re-sign him.
How Would You Rate Russell Wilson?
It seems that Russell Wilson is the one quarterback in the NFL that is largely ignored. Now that the Seahawks appear to be a shell of the team they once were, people aren’t focusing on them nearly as much, and in turn, they are missing out on Wilson putting the entire offense on his back each week.
How Would You Rate Jameis Winston?
What in the world is going on in Tampa Bay? There were some big expectations for this team entering the 2017 season, and they did not meet them in any way. They underperformed all year, and they missed out on going to the playoffs. Entering season 4, Winston needs to establish himself as the man in Tampa.
How Would You Rate Marcus Mariota?
Taken right after Jameis Winston in 2015, Marcus Mariota has been staking his claim as the man in Nashville. Though there are times where his passing skills leave people scratching their heads, his legs always keep the Titans in a game. Mariota led the team to the playoffs in 2017.
How Would You Rate Alex Smith?
Many people expected Alex Smith to make his way out of Kansas City, but no one predicted that it would be the Redskins pulling the trigger on the trade. Smith, instead of picking up the pieces with Cleveland, will take his talents to D.C., inheriting a much better team in the process.
How Would You Rate Kirk Cousins?
Now that Alex Smith is with the Redskins, Kirk Cousins will be seeking out greener pastures. Rare is it to see a quarterback the likes of Kirk Cousins hit the open market, and teams will be throwing boatloads of cash at him. Wherever he lands, expect him to make an immediate impact.
How Would You Rate Sam Bradford?
At this point, it is almost a miracle that Sam Bradford can still walk. Injuries have completely ruined his career, and even though he has flashed his potential at times, it seems like the injury bug is waiting right around the corner. Bradford could seek a starting job on another NFL team.
How Would You Rate Teddy Bridgewater?
After suffering a gruesome injury back in 2016, fans were thrilled to see Teddy Bridgewater make his way back into the NFL this season. It was an emotional moment for those close to the situation, and Bridgewater is ready to play ball. However, people aren’t sure which team he’ll play for in 2018.
How Would You Rate Nick Foles?
At one point Nick Foles looked like he could lead the Eagles to the promised land. Though it wasn’t the path that anyone could have predicted, Nick Foles has in fact led the Eagles to the Super Bowl. His future remains up in the air, particularly because this team belongs to Carson Wentz.
