Television is a great place to escape reality. There are so many different styles of shows out there. There is action, comedy, and drama just to name a few. There are so many television shows from recent day from decades ago that it can be hard to pick your favorites. When people put on a television show, they just want to sit back and enjoy the great writing that someone put into the show. Some just want to escape from the hustle and bustle from everyday life and just get sucked into what they are watching. That is understandable. Lucky for them, there are some awesome shows out there that can really take them away from reality.

It is basically a nature show on steroids. Every week you get to discover a new location on this great big planet, whether it be caves, islands, the great plains, or even deserts. The cameramen would take a great deal of time scoping out and following animals to create a story about them too.

Four sassy seniors share their place in Miami where they do everything from bickering amongst each other to romancing the local gentlemen. All four ladies brought something great to the table, there was cynical Dorothy, sweet Rose, bomb shell Blanche, and angelic Sophia.

Okay, I am the first person to say that this show's plot line is a little crazy. Homeland's main protagonist, Carrie, is a bipolar CIA agent who sleeps with a terrorist, falls in love, has a baby with him, and ends up getting promoted in the mean time. Say what? Talk about some craziness.

Try wrapping your head around the plot line of this long running sci-fi show. Doctor Who travels through space and time using his TARDIS time machine. How long ago did this show debut do you ask? Over half a century ago and it is still running strong! I guess Doctor Who is doing something right.

This show is all about screwing power and manipulation and doing anything in order to get what you want, and the Underwoods are the best at it.

If you know anything about Conan O'Brien it is that he was a writer for Saturday Night Live and The Simpsons for a while. He is a really funny guy who just never quite made it to the primetime spot. Well, he did for a brief moment, but it didn't last long. Unfortunately, he is just under rated.

The Ren & Stimpy Show might seem like kind of a stupid show, but it actually made history as the first adult cartoon show to hit television. When it came out, they did not really know what to do with it, so they put it on the Nicktoons line up, but it was not really an appropriate fit from the get go.

"Anyone can read the news to you. I promise to feel the news at you." That was the mission statement at The Colbert Report. With that, Stephen Colbert set out to take on a whole new approach to fake news, taking on a conservative nit-wit persona. It was fun and hilarious.

Although the show is still running, it will quickly come to an end due to Anthony Bourdain's recent and untimely death. The show would follow Bourdain to many different countries around the world where he would sample the cuisine and also get a taste for the culture.

Saturday Night Live was a sketch comedy show that gave many comedians their big break. Just look at Chevy Chase, Dan Akeroid, and Steve Martin among many others. This show was a hilarious compilation of many sketches written by a great staff of writers that kept the audience laughing.
