It is no wonder why Grand Theft Auto V is still so hugely popular even though it first released all the way back in September 2003. The amount of content is neverending as Rockstar has committed themselves to providing a huge amount of player service. New content in the form of DLC is regularly added at no extra cost. The various locations throughout Grand Theft Auto V is a contributing reason as to why the game has been so successful. The super-massive map is riddled with hiking spots, lakes, rivers, mountains, alluring buildings and much more.
Los Santos is part of the fictional State of San Andreas which is based off of Southern California. The weather and geographical terrain in Los Santos create the perfect tone and setting for the game of Grand Theft Auto V. When creating Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar based many of the locations seen within Los Santos on real life landmarks and have replicated their appearances spectacularly. After designing so many of these significant locations and finding a way to make them all fit together, they created the fictional City of Los Santos.

Dying in Grand Theft Auto V games can be quite devastating. Luckily even if you fall off a 40-story building and plummet hundreds of feet you will be brought to healthy condition by the professionals at the various medical centers in Los Santos. The medical centers in Los Santos are the spawn locations of ambulance trucks and medkits. Can you name this particular hospital? It has been said that this hospital bears a strong resemblance to the LAC+USC Medical Center of Los Angeles and is likely based on it.
Located conveniently in Strawberry
If you do not have internet you may not recognize this establishment as it is exclusive to GTA Online. For those who wish to customize their vehicles with unique add-ons will definitely want to go here. This location contains exclusive parts such as hydraulics, customer stereos, unique paint-jobs and vinyls. When this custom shop was first added it was open to customizing a limited number of vehicles. Fortunately in later updates the list of vehicles was greatly expanded.
Only military base in Grand Theft Auto V
Several missions require entering this highly secure and guarded military base. In Grand Theft Auto V if you cause enough mayhem to receive a five star wanted level you will have warranted the military to take action on you. Once the military becomes involved survival will be improbable. The military has access to tanks, heavy weaponry and fighter jets. All of this and more is sent at you the moment you enter its airspace or set foot on its premises.
Los Angeles Country Club
In terms of features, Rockstar went over the top with this game title. The idea to add tennis courts, darts, golf and other activities on top of everything else was a great idea. The golf course featured in the picture is a 9-hole based on the Los Angeles Country Club. It is the most expensive property that can be purchased in single-player. The price is $150,000,000 and it generates a weekly income of $264,500 which is the most profit one can receive from a property.
Take a ride on the Ferris Whale
Easily identifiable by casual players of Grand Theft Auto V. Since it is the only amusement park in Los Santos you should have no trouble naming this park. The park includes a Ferris Wheel named the "Ferris Whale", a roller coaster called "Leviathan" and multiple stores. These rides are able to be ridden in the game and are not purely decoration. If rides are not your thing you can always walk the boardwalk and enjoy the scenery. The park overlooks the ocean so grab a Seashark and have some fun.
America's First Choice in Domestic Ordinance!
Seasoned players of the Grand Theft Auto series will consider this one a no-brainer. Certain versions of this store has a gun range attached to it to help players improve their shooting skills. This weapons store sells guns, body armor, hunting outfits, gasoline, night vision, grenades, knives, bazookas and just about any weapon you’ll ever need in Los Santos. In Grand Theft Auto V you will frequent this location because of their continuous additions to their inventory. Do not attempt to cause a disturbance here as the owner is carrying a firearm and is ready to use it.
The Taste of America's Future
The menu at this restaurant includes: The Triple Burger, The 10-slices of Bacon-Triple Cheese Melt, Extra Creamy Jumbo Shake, Footlong Chili Dog, French Fries and the Chicken Liver Surprise. Don’t ask me what's in the Chicken Liver Surprise. An advertisement for this restaurant can be heard on the radio. While travelling on the highway due north on the western part of the map you will you eventually notice it on the side of the road. A big rocket ship is its trademark symbol.
Modifications are available for both aesthetics and performance
The man standing in the picture is waiting for you to arrive so he can service your transportation. Clearly he is attempting to appear busy when he is not. I wouldn’t hold it against him since this auto shop has very timely and affordable service. As the GTA series has progressed there have been multiple versions of this shop. In GTA Vice City and San Andreas it was called the Pay ‘n’ Spray. The different types of work that can be done to your vehicle have expanded since the launch of GTA V.
Monkey Business
While doing the GTA Heists you will experience tons of frustration with a team that does not coordinate properly. The heist which takes place in this area is one of the most frustrating missions or heists in GTA history. This compound requires multiple visits with the first visit in the dark. If even one worker sees you the alarm is set off and you must restart the section. It has been said this place is possibly based on the Santa Susana Field Laboratory.
LAX
You will have to progress into the single-player to unlock the helicopters and planes that spawn at this location. If playing GTA Online, aircrafts will frequently spawn. The numerous varying quality aircraft, from stunt planes to luxury jets, is the main reason you will want to make it a priority to come here. Aircrafts are the fastest method of transportation and most of them can be found here. If you own a personal plane you can arrange for it to be made ready on the far side of this location.
What's the name of this place?
Many have found themselves in one way or another jaunting into this local strip club. When completing one of the GTA Heist missions you can’t avoid this spot as you spawn inside upon completion. Many players have been to this strip club but has anyone stopped to read the multiple signs on the front which say the name of the place? If you decide to get a lap dance don’t get too touchy or the bouncers will toss you out.
A chain of luxury clothing and accessories
Clothing within Grand Theft Auto V is a representation of your player’s personality. Each person decides on their clothing and this identifies them as an individual. The sheer amount of clothing customization in Grand Theft Auto V is remarkable. Different stores will sell different styles of clothing. This particular store sells luxury style clothing and accessories such as suits and sunglasses. The shops were first seen in the Grand Theft Auto V Official Gameplay Video. Massive body of water
In Grand Theft Auto V this body of water is the largest in size of any other located on the mainland of San Andreas. Its location is next to Mount Chiliad which is the tallest mountain in GTA V. Bring your boat because there is a vast amount of space to ride waves in this lake. Don’t drink the water though because it is filled with salt. This open lake is connected to the ocean via a slightly meandering river.
Name this shop
Another one of the service shops which can be used for players to change their appearance. This type of shop was first introduced in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. This type of shop was also added to Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars but in it you can only work as an employee. The level of artistic talent is admirable. Some of the art can be a bit pricey but it is worth it and can be easily removed at any time.
Named after brilliant astronomer
Not much of the game’s single-player or online takes place near this scientific structure. That won’t stop many from noticing it as it overlooks Downtown Los Santos. It is located in Vinewood Hills and is fairly central to the neighborhood. The concrete sculpture in front of the building is a replica of the real life Astronomers Monument at Griffith Observatory. Grand Theft Auto V bases many of its buildings and locations on real life and does a great job of closely copying their appearance.
One of our oceans
Not much has to be said to solve this one. This massive body of water is one of the five oceans located on Earth. If you were paying attention when you swam to your Galaxy Super Yacht you would have noticed the title of this ocean popping up on the screen. The deepest part of the world’s ocean, the Mariana Trench, is part of this ocean. In Grand Theft Auto V you can spawn a Megalodon if you follow a series of steps.
Highest mountain in Los Santos
This is the highest mountain in all of Los Santos. The picture you see is a drawing or unknown origin that depicts a series of clues which may or may not be completely solved. If certain steps are followed you can make a UFO appear on the top of this mountain. There have been several conspiracy theories about a secret entrance that may be accessible inside the mountain. It is uncertain whether or not this mystery has been completely solved.
The Industrial Heart of the Alamo Sea
If looking at Los Santos' map you will quickly notice more than half of the map is rural area and contains an abundance of farming land. One of the farms is this place. Anybody who has had a hankering for hanging out in the countryside will have surely passed through this area multiple times. Irrigation at its finest, tractors being driven by farmers, people planting seeds and more can be seen in this area. Hopefully you’ve been keeping track of the names as they appear in the bottom-right of the screen when entering new areas.
Mountain Pass rare earth mine
When completing the Humane Raid: Insurgents heist in GTA Online you will enter this quarry in an attempt to take two different types of Insurgent vehicles during the night. There is also a mission based in this location named “Quarry Quarry.” The quarry itself is a terraced mining site which can be described as quiet as there is little activity. The picture featured is not the exact dig site where the heist takes place but is just over the hill from it.
Where is Marlowe Vineyards located?
This is a vineyard visited in the mission “Water the Vineyard.” In “Water the Vineyard” you are instructed by Martin Madrazo to neutralize a judge and provide proof of his passing. This mission is part of GTA Online and can be played by 1 or 2 players. The name of this vineyard is Marlowe Vineyards but where is Marlowe Vineyards located? It has been speculated that Marlowe Vineyards is modeled after the Malibu Ricky Oats Estate Vineyard as they are highly similar in appearance.

Scattered throughout the city of Los Santos is a number of different convenience stores. Some are part of a gas station and others are a hybrid liquor store. These stores contain various supplies that will make life easier for your Grand Theft Auto V character. If you don’t wish to pay you can rob the store owner but this will earn you a few stars on your wanted level. There are different styles of convenience stores and different ownerships. Can you recognize this particular store brand that is featured in the picture?
Barber Shop
This is a hot spot for players to change their different hairstyles on Carson Avenue in Davis. Hair styles can be colored and shaped all sorts of ways. On top of changing hairstyles, the barber known as Donna, will change your beard style. Don’t ask how they make hair grow from stubble; they must sell fake beards. This particular barber shop runs a promotion. If you cyber-stalk them on Lifeinvader, your first haircut will be free. The shop's name is German for Mr. Kutz.
Hilly, undeveloped region
This could be the most difficult question on the quiz. Not many will venture this far out into the GTA landscape as there are few people and no buildings in this area. It is a geographical area which has many cliffs. It’s has a bunch of great spots for diving and photo taking using your Snapmatic app on your cell phone. Purchase a rebreather before you come here so you can explore life on the ocean floor. If you can recognize this area you are truly a Grand Theft Auto V expert.
Attraction for parachuting
Numerous waterfalls splash through this river which connects to the Alamo Sea. This body of water itself has a steady flow with an abundance of wildlife surrounding it. You will see various fisherman and campers set up beside certain parts of the river. You can ride a boat down the river but it is very difficult and maybe impossible to go up the river as the minor waterfalls are too high. One end of the Zancudo River connects to the Alamo Sea and the other end is attached to the ocean.
Power Generation Facility
When driving along Senora Way you will eventually reach a power generation and transmission facility. The amount of pollution that is pumped into the air is not that bad considering if it is a natural gas plant. Its close proximity to the Ron Wind Farm may mean that it is a power conversion station. The train passes by this area and is one of the best options to get as far, far away from here as possible as it is a dry and desolate area.
