If You Can't Name All These It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Characters You're Rickety Cricket!

Many of us have seen the show It’s always sunny in Philadelphia, but it’s hard to say that we love the characters that are in the show since they are all horrible people. There honestly really isn’t a whole lot of nice people in the show that you can really root for, but in all honesty, you still stick by their sides all the same. Who doesn’t like The Gang consisting of Charlie, Mac, Dennis and arguably Dee? Although they do horrible things to each other and other people, you can’t help but laugh at their crazy antics. In the end, nothing ever seems to work out for them, but they keep those insane schemes coming regardless.

How well would you say that you know all the characters from the show? Sure, it might not be so difficult to name the main characters of the show, but there are many cameos from characters that only make an appearance in a couple of episodes here and there making it difficult to pick them out. Question 1

The janitor

He is the janitor of Paddy's Pub. He is a member of the Gang that works at the bar, and is considered the "wild card" of the group. Charlie has been best friends with Mac since childhood. He shares an apartment with Frank Reynolds, who is very likely his biological father. Charlie is a co-owner of Paddy's Pub, but he sold most of his shares to Dennis and Mac for, among other things, half a sandwich. He is also a fan favorite.

Question 2

The sheriff

He is a co-owner and self proclaimed "Sheriff" of Paddy's Pub and generally the pub's most active manager. He is roommates with his best friend from high school, Dennis Reynolds, and has been best friends with Charlie Kelly since childhood. He is a member of The Gang, considering himself to be the "brains" of the operation. He gets upset at injustices, but will pounce on any opportunity he sees as a fair chance to bang or make money. He was proud of his body and weight gain during season 7, and is secretly ashamed of returning to his regular size.

Question 3

The vain one

He is extremely vain, selfish, superficial, hypersexual, and delusional about himself. Dennis also has an extreme temper and will blow up in rage whenever his image is called into question, he doesn't get what he wants, or just plain gets irritated. Dennis is frequently hinted to be a sociopath incapable of feelings but later seasons have taken a more sympathetic approach. Prior to season 10, it was hinted that Dennis was very mentally ill, and was later diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder by a psychiatrist and was given medication for it.

Question 4

The stalked one

She is a woman openly stalked by Charlie Kelly, despite numerous restraining orders. She went to high school with the Gang, and used to work at a local coffee shop frequented by Charlie. She attends the high-school reunion with the Gang, where her name tag is missing (further implying her status as 'easily forgettable', a theme in that episode), preventing her name from being revealed. Many fans assumed her name was Nikki Potnick when Frank showed up with a stolen tag bearing that name. However, Glenn Howerton specified on Twitter that this is not the case.

Question 5

The schemer

He is the father of Dennis Reynolds and Dee Reynolds, and the ex-husband of Barbara Reynolds. Frank also lives with his apparent biological son (and ex-husband), Charlie Kelly. He is a member of "The Gang" that owns and runs Paddy's Pub. He used to be prim and proper, but after he divorced Barbara, he let himself lose all convictions and live with no moral compass or decency. He didn't appear until a little later in the show, but is also part of "The Gang."

Question 6

The bird

She is the bartender at Paddy's Pub. She is the twin sister of Dennis Reynolds, and the legal daughter of Frank and Barbara Reynolds. Dee considers herself a member of The Gang that runs Paddy's, although the rest of the gang often disagrees with this assertion. Dee lived alone in her apartment with her cat, but lost it in the wall and when Mac and Dennis apartment burns down, they have to move in with her. The gang also refers to her as a bird often.

Question 7

The deadbeat

She is very apathetic, an avid television watcher and a smoker. She worked at Jiffy Lube for many years where she worked her way up from the bottom to the tippy top as manager. She often communicates through a series of guttural noises and grunts and she is good with fixing things like fans. According to Mac she thrives in sunlight so she can't be expected to do any work after dark. She can become violent if someone wakes her up. She was once married to Mac's dad, Luther, They seem ambivalent towards each other. Luther went to jail because he sold meth.

Question 8

The jailbird

Luther is tall, has numerous tattoos, and mentions that he rarely blinks, giving him a generally intimidating appearance. Luther, Mrs. Mac and Mac used to break into houses on Christmas to steal Christmas presents. When Mac and Charlie first visited Luther in prison in an attempt to bond with him, Luther tries to convince them to smuggle heroin into the prison via their rectums, as a "father-son type of thing." He isn't on the show very often, but he left his mark.

Question 9

The neurotic one

She is a sweet and timid woman who is attracted to cruel men like Frank or Luther. However, she is not attracted to Dennis. Quite neurotic and emotional, she is prone to dramatic episodes. She seems to harbor many irrational fears: she won't let Mrs. Mac bring her dog when she moves in because she is afraid dogs will "eat her face", and she says she doesn't go to the supermarket because "shopping carts are dangerous." She also has an extreme form of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. She has to flip light switches three times and spin or else Charlie will die.

Question 10

The weird one

She is the obnoxious cousin of Dennis and Dee Reynolds. She is also Barbara Reynolds's niece and Aunt Donna's daughter. Her father Max had recently died. She lives at home with her mother. She has always been annoying. At all of her families parties she would just glom onto the Reynolds twins—that's why at some point Dennis and Dee were forced to torture her. They would throw her into the dryer (preliminarily sprinkling her with salt). Since then, she has had a problem with her skin. Dennis and Dee have shown regret for treating her as such, even though they feel it was necessary.

Question 11

The kind hearted

Unlike her brother Trevor, she is an honest and kindhearted person. She genuinely likes Charlie, and (unlike most women) is not bothered by his bizarre behavior. She breaks down crying after Charlie calls her a "stupid little rich slut." In "Charlie and Dee Find Love" her and her brother Trevor meet Charlie and Dee after Trevor rear-ends Dee's car. She and Charlie appear attracted to each other at first sight. Trevor proposes that the four go on a dinner date. At the dinner, Charlie and Dee pretend to be members of a wealthy family. However, they become stressed and eventually break down, revealing the truth.

Question 12

Dead tooth

She was an attractive person with only one visible flaw: the fact that she has a "dead tooth". As a result of her "dead tooth" she suffered from severe bad breath. After Dennis and her divorced, she had a diamond stud added to her dead tooth. Later, before she was due to be married, she got her dead tooth fixed and also got breast implants. Dennis dated Maureen in high school and when he was reunited with her, decided to get married. In the short time she and Dennis were married, she had a craft studio where she would create several cat sweatshirts.

Question 13

The flighty one

She was a classic whore. She originally dumped Dennis and Dee's biological father Bruce Mathis and married Frank because she thought Frank was richer than Bruce and because Bruce was more generous as he gave his money to charities. Bruce had in fact inherited a large fortune from his father when he died. She was a cold, cruel, selfish woman with little affection for her husband or daughter. She seemed to favor Dennis over Dee. In her will she left Frank and Dee with nothing and stated that Dee was a mistake (despite the fact that Dennis and Dee are twins).

Question 14

The philanthropist

The antithesis of Frank Reynolds, he devotes his time and money to charities and philanthropic efforts, including adopting several suffering children in Africa and doing charity benefits for a cure for Lupus. Barbara Reynolds had an affair with him, early in her marriage to Frank. Barbara kept the pregnancy which ensued from him, (because she wasn't aware of his father's wealth) and let Frank believe Denis and Dee were his. He didn't know that he was Dennis and Dee's father until later in life.

Question 15

The damaged one

He has steadily spiraled down over the years thanks to the actions of the Gang: leaving the priesthood, becoming homeless, various drug addictions (namely cocaine, crack and PCP), having his legs broken, having his throat slashed, being left blind in one eye, covered in scars from a dog, and having the left side of his face covered in burns. He has been in love with Dee Reynolds his entire life and is often lured into schemes and traps by the Gang under the deception of getting a date with her. He now spends his days as a drug-addicted homeless man on the streets, often turning tricks in the scrap metal yard.

Question 16

The user

He met Dee at Paddy's Pub when word got out that the bar was not checking IDs. He flirted with her and she decided to hang out with him at the park. Later, they went to a house party hosted by Sara. At the pre-prom party held at Paddy's, a very drunk Dee became aggressive with him. When Tammy arrived and began flirting with Dennis, Trey took her aside and they began to make out. In the end, Charlie knew that Tammy and Trey were using Dennis and Dee to make each other jealous.

Question 17

The transgender

Carmen is a transgender woman who was dating Mac, much to his nervous embarrassment. She later had sex reassignment surgery and married Nick and the two had Dee act as the surrogate mother for their baby (Carmen being the sperm donor; Nick says he is unable to have children). Carmen is first seen flirting with some men in Paddy's. She is open about her status as a trans woman, even when people are ridiculously offensive, most especially The Gang themselves. Carmen was frustrated Mac was ashamed of their relationship, to the point where his friends thought he was a serial killer because he was acting so strangely.

Question 18

The actress

Artemis Dubois is Dee's friend from acting class. She also happens to be Dee's only friend, even though they really don't seem to like each other. Artemis is very outgoing sexually and makes strong-handed moves on men. She has an on-again/off-again relationship with Frank Reynolds and upon meeting Dennis for the first time, licked his face. Artemis is a recurring character and has appeared in the first nine seasons. Artemis is overly serious about her acting craft and displays bizarre habits and outbursts. Artemis was also responsible for translating Charlie's notes for "The Nightman Cometh" into a legible format.

Question 19

The dimwit

He is exceedingly dimwitted and is often rebuked for making dumb comments to his brother, such as offering to split a large sum of money fifty-fifty fifty to accommodate three people. He is in an incestuous relationship with his brother and sister, and he also likes to watch his siblings have sex with other people. Like his siblings, he likes to crank the heat so he is constantly sweaty. His attire of choice is underwear and a bathrobe. His favorite drink is milk. The McPoyles all have a deep hatred of the gang, and make life miserable for them when they have the chance.

Question 20

The fist-bumper

Throughout the series, it is implied that he is in an incestuous relationship with his brother, Ryan and sister, Margaret. It is also demonstrated that he likes to watch his siblings have sex with other people. Like his siblings, he likes to crank the heat so he is constantly sweaty. His attire of choice is underwear and a bathrobe. His favorite drink is milk. The McPoyles have a complicated relationship with the gang, usually as enemies, but are occasionally shown to be more friendly and socializing at the bar.

Question 21

The handsome one

He proposed to the Waitress after a very short period of time and she accepted. When Dee found out that they were engaged, she became extremely jealous because he had become quite handsome. She threw the Waitress a bachelorette party designed to make him leave the Waitress for her, but her plans fell apart. After the party, he told her that he was still in love with Dee. Later when Charlie found out he was going to marry the Waitress, and was bringing him a box of hornets as a congratulatory gift, it emerged that he was just getting revenge on the women who treated him badly in high school by promising to marry them, then jilting them soon afterwards.

Question 22

Fatty Magoo

She is a high school friend of Dee Reynolds. Her nickname was "Fatty Magoo," but she has since lost a lot of weight. After being humiliated by the cool kids at her high school reunion, Dee tries to mock Ingrid for being fat but it just seems sad because Ingrid isn't fat anymore. Later, Mac tries the same tactic but Ingrid reminds him that he's the fat one now. She becomes a successful fashion designer and Dee becomes very jealous of her.

Question 23

The crazy one

The Gang hires him to wrestle in their show for the troops, but they soon regret it when they realize his mania is not confined to the ring. In the end, he does not wrestle in the show after he is arrested for unpaid parking tickets. He shows up uninvited to a presentation Dee and Charlie are holding for a multi-level marketing scam selling a berry drink called Invigaron (most likely for the free soup). He ends up stealing a couple of cases of Invigaron, apparently not aware (or not caring) he has to pay for them.

Question 24

The uncle

He has small hands and likes taking pictures on a disposable camera for his website. It is strongly implied that he molested Charlie. At some point during Charlies' childhood he lived with Bonnie and Charlie and shared a room with Charlie. He watched Charlie's intervention when Bonnie was convinced by Dennis and Dee that Charlie was molested as a child. He took great pleasure in watching Charlie point where he was molested on a doll. He is a lawyer who helped Dennis get a divorce from Maureen Ponderosa.

Question 25

The barfly

He can be seen in the background of many episodes, and up close in episodes ""Sweet Dee's Dating a Retarded Person" and "Paddy's Pub: The Worst Bar in Philadelphia". He died and had an episode dedicated to him. Not much is known about him other than he just hangs out at Paddy's pub all of the time. He doesn't have any lines and isn't a major character in really any of the episodes, but he's always there up until season 7.
