FRIENDS might be the most beloved comedy show of all time. It was famous in its day, and it still remains a hallmark of American television. It's mentioned, directly or indirectly, by other famous comedy shows as well. There are quite a few FRIENDS references in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and the hit show How I Met Your Mother was clearly modelled after FRIENDS in a couple of ways. The show ran for ten years, beginning in 1994 and ending in 2004. (So we got to see a lot of fashion changes.)
