Whether they are beloved or not we need child stars! People everywhere love to comment on their acting abilities, or their less than convincing lines, but come on people they are kids! We have to give them their fair chance to succeed in the acting biz, plus we need them for the storylines. Listed below are some of the most famous child characters of TV show history. Some may be easily recognized, while other may stump even the biggest TV buffs out there. Be warned we may even throw some cartoons in to throw the classic sitcom lovers off their game a bit. If anyone out there thinks they are a true TV buff, and know the in's and out's of not only the old programs, but even some of the newer ones than this quiz is a must take! Not only will it be a ton of fun to stroll down memory lane with some TV kids that may have gone forgotten, but it will also be challenging, and may even perhaps motivate some people to watch a new series! Dawn
The second sister everyone loves to hate. Dawn was introduced into her show very late in the game, and since she had never been a character before it was hard to adjust to our main character suddenly having an annoying, younger sister. By the end of Dawn's first season we can totally see where the writers were coming from, but unfortunately Dawn still lacked a little something to win over the fan's hearts. Anyone know which show she was from?
Ashley
This lovely young lady was up-beat, and all kinds of fun! As fans of her long running show we got to see her developed more than anyone else on her cast since she started off as the youngest when the show premiered. Her characters grew into a gorgeous lady, with strong morals, but she never lost her innocent funny ways, even in the final season she was still making us laugh. She was the perfect addition to an already hilarious cast of actors, and actresses.
Steve Urkel
If anyone could preach self love onto a young generation of television watchers it was this kid. He was weird, eccentric, and well a nerd, but man was he confident! He had no problem flexing his (lack of) muscles anywhere he went, and he had a really nice way about talking to other kids about why he doesn't believe in worrying over what others say about him. He truly was the perfect character to teach us all that the mean words of bullies were not to be taken seriously.
Chuckie
Hope everyone has also been keeping up with their cartoons! This little red headed munchkin should be easily recognized by most. He is a very worried child, with all kinds of allergies, and a constantly blocked nose (we all know the type of kid). Chuckie was not exactly the perfect stereotype though, any time his friends went on a dangerous adventure, Chuckie would be brave and tag along, he would even sometimes be the one to save the day! Which show is he from?
Carl
To say this kid has had it bad would be the understatement of the century. Not only has the character he portrayed been through the worst of it and back in the TV series, but the actor himself has had a tough time in the media and fan groups. His acting was never well received, even when he grew past the age of qualifying as a "child actor". The poor guy, if filming his scenes were not hard enough! Can anyone place him to his correct show?
Stephanie
She was the hilarious character middle children everywhere needed. Stephanie was in the most typical middle child situation there is: a beautiful, and talented older sister, and an incredibly adorable baby sister who instantly steals the hearts of anyone in the room. Stephanie though, was not going to let either of these obstacles stop her! She made jokes, perused her own talents, and she even had her own catch phrase, proving to middle children all over the world that there is hope!
Jake
This chubby little guy stole the hearts of fans everywhere. When his show originally debuted it was an instant hit, he had some big names working along side him, which no doubt helped with the massive ratings, but he was actually one of the few kids on TV at the time that people didn't seem to hate. Since his show ran for 12 seasons, by the end of it he was not really a kid anymore, and somehow become less likable.
Luke
Okay, this kid is just down right hilarious. The reason we believe he was such a smash hit on his show, even at such a young age, is because in real like the actor is a child genius (like actually an Einstein). So we can only assume he was able to figure out what makes kids funny, and what makes people watching them dislike them so often. What ever equation he came up with, it worked! He was not the only kid on his show, but he was certainly everyone's favorite.
Jackie
When we first met Jackie in season 1 of her television show, she was a little hard to take. She was spoiled, annoying, and just not as cool as her cast mates, but funnily enough she was still a hit. As the show went on she was still spoiled, and overbearing, but became more, and more likeable as the seasons passed. That is the mark of a truly great actress. Can anyone pick the correct show out of the 4 options below?
Bridget
She was the one all of the boys wanted, and all of the girls wanted to be. Including her poor younger sister on the show, who was always trying to break out of Bridget's shadow. In all honesty it is easy to see how she would make the perfect popular high school teen, but any fans of the show know that her younger sister had her own great qualities too! The actress who played Bridget has gone on to see a lot of fame.
Randy
Randy was a typical troublemaker. Always up to no good with his older brother, and constantly pranking his younger brother. In one episode he even tried convincing his younger brother, Mark, that zombies had escaped the ground in their backyard by digging up huge holes (we are not sure if his brother, or if his parents hated this prank more). He relaxed things a bit as he got older though, and actually left his show before it's finale. Any guesses?
Dewey
If there was one thing to be remembered about this kid, it was that in every single on if his episodes, he got the last laugh. He was not even the main kid on his show (that spot went to his older brother), but no matter what hijinks the rest of the family had gotten themselves into, Dewey always came out on top, even when he was barely shown throughout the entire episode! This little lady found major success at a very young age, all thanks to her TV show. She was the youngest sibling on her show, and she certainly had the most spunk! She was only 5 when season 1 debuted, so she really did grow up in front of all of us. She was the ultimate crush for young boys all over the world when her show first came out. Sure she was a hippy kid, with some really strange behaviors, but she was kind, and original, and let's be honest she grew up to be quite a cutie. Her love story on the show, is one that should never be forgotten, it was beautiful, and timeless, and we should all go back and watch the entire series right now! Which show?
Lily
Some love her, and some can't stand her. This kid has been receiving mixed reviews since she first started playing her character 10 years ago. Her character is funny regardless of what critics say. She is sassy, and rude in a cute kid kind of way, and she is also selfless, and kind, and sticks up for others. It is important for everyone to remember what a great job these kids are doing, and how tough an acting job can be on someone so young! Give her a break people!
Eric
Oh Eric, we miss him so much! He was such a relatable character it was kind of crazy. He was nice, but struggled with ensuring his kindness didn't hurt his rep, and he was funny, but also kind of a dork, and he was uncomfortable with his self-image. If that isn't the perfect description of a teenager we don't know what is. He and his friends made us laugh for 8 seasons, even though Eric, sadly was not as main a character as he had been by the end.
Alex
Alex was not a typical everyday child. As a young boy he started to show unlikely interests in things like economics, and politics. This would have been fine if he wasn't being raised by two very hippy parents. They supported him anyway though, and Alex went on to be extremely successful, even if he did hit a few hiccups along the way. By the end of his show it seemed like all of Alex's dreams had come true. A happy ending for all!
Darlene
Darlene was a classic tom boy growing up. She followed very closely in her fathers foot steps by showing interest in things like sports. She did however take certain traits straight from her mother, like her sass, and sarcasm. For the first few seasons it looked like Darlene would grow up to be a professional sports player, but she later grew into her writing abilities and decided to pursue those over her sporting talents. Kevin
Kevin was part of a show that will go down as one of the greatest of all time. Kevin's story was a true American story. He was the main character, and narrator of his show, and critics everywhere loved him. From the very first episode everyone could tell it was going to be an emotional, yet rewarding ride, and that is exactly what we all got from the series. The show, and the actor who played Kevin won many awards.
Mike
Mike was a real stand up guy. He may not have been the smartest, and his grades could have certainly been better, but over all he was a good kid. He was always there for his family, and would stick up for his friends when ever necessary. His biggest vice was always, girls. Ben was a pretty cute kid, when he was actually given the chance to participate on his show. Sadly, he was a well casted character who got almost no screen time, which to be honest is a little weird considering for a large part of the series he was a main characters only kid. Ruthie
Ruthie was very young when her show first kicked off. Originally she was the 5th child of her house hold, and was only 5 years old. Later in her series she would become a big sister, but to most fans she would always remain the favorite child. She was cute, and funny, and had a knack for knowing all the gossip going on in her larger than life family. As children do, Ruthie, grew up, and became a lovely young woman.
Bobby
Changing things up a bit with this guy. Bobby is probably one of the most under rated cartoon characters of all time. Sure he is used in hilarious memes from time to time, but honestly he never really got his due, and neither did his show. Maybe because of the popularity of cartoons like The Simpsons, fans got distracted, but we know the truth, Bobby and his family are number 1! Can anyone guess the show hilarious Bobby was from?
T.J
Some may recognize this adorable face from many popular television series, but only in one was he the main character, and went by the name T.J. He was a super bright kid, who was raised by a manual labor working single father, who had a hard time understanding his above average child. It was a heart warming show that truly was funny. It was a popular enough show to guest star the outstanding girl group : Destiny's Child. Which show are we talking about?
Natalie
Natalie was an important character for girls everywhere. She was well known for being a larger figured character (not something that was super common when casting teenage girls), but she was equally known for her confidence, and self love. We could use more characters like Natalie on today's television shows. One of her best quotes on the series was "Who wants to be a skinny pencil? I'd rather be a happy Magic Marker!" Yes! Go girl! Henry
Henry is another hit or miss case in terms of his likability. In the first few seasons of his show, he was pretty cute, and held an important role in the series story line. However, as he aged he became a little more awkward, and it seems the writers of his show did not really know what to do with him, and focused more on the adult characters. Still Henry had his episodes, and we believe he did his job pretty well.
Helga
Helga was a typical bully. She was always around to ruin our lead characters day, but in secret she was actually very much in love with him. Ah, to be young, and confused by feelings to the point where we push away the ones we love... Things were easier back then weren't they? Helga often got what was coming to her by the end of each episode, but that never stopped her from causing trouble. Which of these options are correct?
Rory
Rory was a beautiful small town angel, who blessed our screens for many years. She was smart, and funny, and caffeine addicted, and man, did we ever love her. Her series was not one that was overly exciting, or dramatic, but it was comfortable, and safe. Her show, and it's cast members got plenty of praise during the series run, and was even brought back for a reunion years later, where Rory herself was back, and doing great! Which show is correct?
Morgan
This little blonde nugget was full of sass. It is a very common thing for TV shows to feature a young character, or sibling, of the main characters, and use them solely for the purpose of being a funny kid. Unfortunately this does not always work, since children over all have a harder time acting, it comes off as forced instead of funny. Morgan however was hilarious. This kid could act, and she could make us all laugh. What show is she from?
Brick
Brick is a super important character, that probably would not have been created if his show had come out in a different time. His show is a comedy, and Brick himself is hilarious, but he is also a special child. Brick, and his actor both have Osteogenesis Imperfecta. During the series his parents are strong advocates for their son. Apart from his disease, Brick is a pretty normal kid. He loves to read, and has a special interest in fonts.
Michelle
Stand back everyone, Michelle is in the house! She is probably one of the most recognizable child actors to ever get in the business, and what is even more impressive is that she is two different people! Yes everyone read that correctly, the role of Michelle was played by the Olsen twins. We can only assume when working with babies particularly, that having two to do the job would be much easier. Richie
No one could ever find a more wholesome american teenage boy than, Richie. He was the stereotype in every sense. He was freckled, with red hair, and tried extremely hard to not get into any trouble. Any trouble that he did find himself in was always after he had tried to impress a girl, and who could ever blame him for that? He was a teenage boy after all! All in all though, he was a great kid. Gosh her face really gives away the answer doesn't it? Any true TV fan would know her show instantly. The actor who played the adorable Arnold, was famous back then, and continued to be until his recent passing. When he first took on the role as young Arnold critics stated that he would be an up coming actor to "watch".
