There are so many beauty products and so many different types of makeup, and depending on your look, it can take a decent amount of time to get that perfect, ready-for-the-day face that you post all over social media.
And no matter if you are going for a fresh and dewy look or a dark and dramatic one, it really is all about balance; too much of the wrong thing, and you could easily end up looking like a clown!

Face Wash
Before you put on your makeup, you have the option to wash your face. You can use a special cleanser, a makeup removal towelette, a wash rag and soap...Whatever it takes to prepare your face for what comes next. Will you use this product and technique before applying your makeup?
Moisturizer
Some people like to moisturize before beginning their beauty process, too, and there are all types for all of our different skins, bodies, needs and routines. Moisturizers keep our skin smooth, hydrated and fresh, without being too oily or greasy. Will you use this product and technique before applying your makeup?
Anti-Aging Cream
There are several prep steps that can be taken, in order to keep our faces in tip-top shape and to prepare them for the rest of our beauty regimen. After moisturizing, you could add some anti-aging cream, as well, to keep fine lines and wrinkles away. Will you use this product?
Tweeze/Wax
Okay, we have one final option before we start in on our makeup. You may have unwanted hairs in unwanted places, as well as some strays that need to be cleaned up so that your eyebrows are the perfect shape. Will you use this product and technique before applying your makeup?
Primer
First up is primer, which can be applied all over your face so that the rest of your makeup goes on smoothly and lasts longer. This product, which comes in creams, gels and powders, also can help smooth out any fine lines you may have. Will you use this product?
Concealer
You may still see some blemishes, redness or darkness that you want to hide in a more major way, so you can also dab on some concealer. As with all of these products, there are so many types - you just need one that matches your skin tone. Will you use this product?
Contouring
You can now use liquid foundation and/or liquid concealer to contour your whole face. That is right - By just applying the right stuff in the right shade and in the right spots, you can copy Kim Kardashian's look and fake some killer cheekbones. Will you use this product for this technique?
Highlighting
After contouring, some people choose to highlight, too. By applying a product that works like a highlighter to certain places - like on your cheekbones, on your brow bone, above your eyebrow, above your lip and down your nose - you can make your skin look more natural and glowing. Blush
To finish off your face, you can add some blush to your cheekbones, for a nice rosy color that looks pretty, soft and feminine. There are different colors and shades of blush, of course, but many people prefer a pinkish color, added as a dab or two on the cheek. Will you use this product?
Eyeshadow
Let us move on to our eyes. We want to put our first layer of eyeshadow down just on our lids. We may then choose to jazz that up with a darker color above it and a light color above all of that...but we’ll just start with this one. Will you use this product?
More Eyeshadow
As mentioned, you can give your look more depth and dimension by using different shades of eyeshadows, such as a darker color right above the base layer you may or may not have just applied above. This will go in the crease of your eyelid. Will you use this product?
Even More Shadow
And, if you can’t get enough, you can brush a light and shimmering color on now. This eyeshadow will finish off your lid, and it is like a cherry on top - a way to just cap off the beautiful work that was just completed on your beautiful face. Will you use this product?
Mascara
There is still lots of work that could be done to these eyes, such as applying mascara to our eyelashes (the tops and the ones on the bottom - or just the top ones). This will darken them and lengthen them, making our eyes pop even more. Will you use this product?
Fake Lashes
Instead of applying mascara or on top of that mascara, you can put fake eyelashes. These give you instant length, and though they can be a bit tricky to line up and keep on, they are an easy way to cheat and get those lashes that everyone envies. Will you use this product?
Curled Lashes
A common tool in many makeup kits is an eyelash curler, which just takes what is there (whether that's your own lashes or fake eyelashes) and, well, curls it. This little guy makes eyes look more glamorous, and if you don't pinch yourself while using it...Bravo! Will you use this product and technique?
Eyeliner
Another essential (in our opinion) when it comes to makeup is eyeliner. Whether you go for a basic brown or black or for a fun sparkly color, this product outlines your eye, sort of, again, like a cherry on top of your gorgeous eyes and eye makeup. Will you use this product?
Wings
If you are daring, skilled or just like taking your makeup to the next level, you can extend your eyeliner out past your eye, creating a winged look that is even more dramatic. You can also make this as thick as you would like. Will you use this product and technique?
Brow Pencil
Brow pencils exist so that we can fill in our eyebrows or enhance the ones we have. We can change the color of our brows, the shape of them or the overall look, if we don’t have much to work with in the beginning. Will you use this product and technique?
Colored Contacts
Okay, contacts are not necessarily a makeup product, but if we are changing the rest of our face, we might as well consider changing the color of our eyes, too. Even people with perfect eyesight sometimes turn to colored contacts, just to mix things up a bit. Will you use this product?
Lipliner
Moving on to the lips! Just like eyeliner, a lipliner can show off the shape of your lips or even create a whole new one; some people envy Kylie Jenner’s thick lips, and with a liner, you can fake just how big your lips really are! Will you use this product?
Light Lipstick
Inside that liner or perhaps instead of it, you can choose to put on a light lipstick color next, one that is close to the color of your skin, for just a bit of a pop. This is good for a daytime look or a “no makeup” look. Will you use this product?
Dark Lipstick
You may change your mind on your previous choices when you find out that you can choose a dark lipstick to wear today instead! A bright red, a fun blue or a dramatic and deep purple are just a few options that let your personality shine. Will you use this product?
Lip Gloss
Gloss lovers, do not worry - We didn’t forget about you! Some people smear a sparkly gloss over their lipsticked lips, while others prefer fun, shimmery and easy glosses over lipstick colors every single time. Lip Plumper
If you think your lips need a bit more, you can use a plumping product, which makes your lips appear fuller. This is another makeup trick that many people use to fake how big their lips really are and to, again, get that Kylie Jenner look. Will you use this product?
Glitter
Okay, our foundation is set, our eyes look amazing, and our lips are done. What else can we add to our faces, to finish off our beauty regimen? How about some glitter? Just a little swipe of it here and there can add a fun glow to our look for the day. Will you use this product?
Bronzer
Another product that can add some shine is a bronzer. We may want to really glow and fake that sun-kissed look - even if it is the dead of winter. Again, there are many options here, but it is a cool way to enhance our faces even further. Will you use this product?
Powder
After everything is in place, we can go over our faces with a powder. This will even everything out, make sure we don’t look too shiny or greasy and hold everything in place, as we set out on our days, looking fab and feeling gorg. Will you use this product?
Setting Spray
You may think our faces are done, but we have one more choice to make: Will we spray it all down with a setting spray? These sprays were invented just to hold, keep and, well, set everything, since we put a lot of work into getting these beautified faces! Will you use this product?
Fingernail Polish
Before running out the door or posting selfies to social media, we realize our hands need some work. Whether we go for a classic French tip, a bold black or a fun pattern, we can do our nails and polish them up if you want. Will you use this product?
Toenail Polish
Let’s not forget about our feet, as they may want or need some love and color, too! We can match them with our nails, choose to skip both of these steps and just move on in life and in this quiz or do something original with our toenail polish. Will you use this product?
Reapply Lipstick
Okay, we are out and about. We finished our beauty looks. We are having fun and working and socializing...but then we glance in the mirror and realize our lips don’t look as good as they did this morning, since we’ve been sipping coffee, talking and so on. Will you reapply your lipstick?
Reapply Liner
You might wonder why someone would want to reapply their eyeliner. The answer is simple. Everything looks better when it's fresh. Your eyeliner will be sleeker, it'll be blacker, and you'll feel better knowing it looks a little more fresh. At the end of the day, the choice is yours. Reapply Powder
While you have your back-up makeup bag out and since you did some touchups, you now have the option to also reapply powder: just a swoosh here and there and some dabs in trouble spots, all in order to make sure our faces are set and close to perfection. Will you reapply your powder?
