Makeup certainly doesn't define someone, but it has a big impact on the first impression you give. It can also make someone more confident, and more in charge of their style. Whether you are 16 and trying out every makeup look ever created, or 45 and keeping it simple (or not!), makeup is a tool for creativity. It's within your power to do whatever you want with it, and show whatever kind of face you want to the public on any given day. But makeup shouldn't be done just to please other people, it should be done in a way that keeps you in the driver's seat. Life is too short to spend hours (and hundreds of dollars) on makeup that you hate but think other people want to see. At the end of the day, who cares what people think? What matters most about you is your stunning personality, your intelligence, and your caring soul. No makeup job, no matter how professional or modern, could ever shine brighter than the beautiful person that you are on the inside. But also, makeup sure is fun!
