If you grew up watching Dragon Ball Z, then chances are you've fantasized about training with Master Roshi, sparring with Goku, and standing side by side with some of your favorite Z Warriors while you defend the world against anything that comes against it. But let's be honest, the heroes aren't the only fun part about DBZ. Any true fan can tell you, if you wanna really test your DBZ knowledge, then you gotta know about the villains too.
Dragon Ball Z has some of the most terrifying yet interesting villains in all of anime history. How many shows can boast the fact that they have a tyrannical alien overlord who takes over planets daily, while occasionally blowing up others for fun? Or what about a genetically engineered android that gets most of its sustenance by using its tail to drain people alive?
The baddies of DBZ are no joke, and easily one of the most memorable part of the series. So it's safe to say, that if you really wanna call yourself a DBZ trivia master, then you'd better know what's what when it comes to these wicked characters. After a relatively long time of peace between Dragon Ball and DBZ, Goku would end up meeting his most deadly opponent yet one the very first episode of the new series. Though his time on the show wouldn't last long, this antagonist would symbolize the change of direction for the show, introducing power levels, and revealing to Goku that he is actually a space alien known as a "Saiyan". How many main forms does Cell have?
DBZ has had a recurring theme of characters having multiple physical forms that increase their power level for combat. Examples of this would be a Saiyan's habit of turning into a Great Ape when in the presence of a moon, and Frieza's many forms that he uses to conceal his true power. Cell, like Frieza, has multiple physical forms, but instead of using them to hide his power, he was actually progressively going through each in order to reach his "Perfect" form.

Out of all the major villains in the series, Frieza probably displays the most extreme physical changes when transitioning from one form to the next. When we first see Frieza in the series, he doesn't really come off as intimidating at all, with even the smaller characters dwarfing him due to his small size. We soon find out however that this is only a form used to contain his true power, but is his final form the largest of them all?

Moving on to the final major villain featured in DBZ, we have Buu. When Buu first made his debut he wasn't exactly how one might expect a Dragon Ball villain to be. He was a big pink monster that was seemingly made of gum, and had the cheery and spoiled attitude of a young child. There was once a time when turning into a Super Saiyan wasn't something as simple as some elementary school kids just doing it on a whim. When Dr. Gero created Cell, or virtually all of his androids for that matter, he was made with the sole purpose of destroying Goku. Cell however, had somewhat different priorities, and actually focused most of his time and energy on gaining enough power to obtain his perfect form. There have been many different ways that the Z Fighters have trained over the years, one of the more memorable being Bulma's artificial gravity room. If you had witnessed Goku's fight with Frieza on planet Namek in person, then you probably would have figured there's no way the tyrannical alien had survived it, but you'd be quite wrong. To put it bluntly, Yamcha has been the butt of the joke when it comes to both the DBZ fanbase, and often even the series itself. Whether it's his impeccable ability to lose in the quarter-finals of every single World Martial Arts Tournament he enters into, or the unfortunate case of him losing Bulma to Vegeta, he just can't get a break. One of his most embarrassing moments however, came when he actually managed to get killed by this weak enemy.

Piccolo is one tough guy to kill, mostly thanks to his extremely effective regeneration abilities. It's no secret that the big green alien is more durable than most of the Z Fighters, but that doesn't mean that he's been able to escape death completely. As it just so happens, Piccolo ended up getting killed during DBZ's first major saga, sacrificing his life in order to protect Gohan from a powerful blast. You know how Piccolo is so difficult to destroy because of his regenerative abilities? Well imagine having that, plus Frieza's ability to survive the vacuum of space, and on top of that, the abilities of all the strongest fighters on Earth. To put it more clearly, Cell is harder to kill than a bedbug infestation. Even after blowing himself up, he only managed to come back even stronger. So what was the method that was finally able to put him down for good?

Yeah, as it turns out, a lot of people that Goku now considers to be his allies weren't always the nicest people to hangout with.
