It premiered on NBC on March 24, 2005, and ran for nine seasons until May 16, 2013. The show received critical acclaim and won four Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series in 2006. The show is based in the small town of Scranton, Pennslyvania at the paper company Dunder Mifflin. The Scranton branch is run by clueless manager Michael Scott (from season one to season seven). There is Dwight Schrute, a paper salesman with an incredibly unique personality. His fellow salesman, Jim Halpert, spends all day pranking him and flirting with the receptionist - Pam Beesly. Then there is fire guy Ryan Howard, the dramatic Kelly Kapoor, oblivious Kevin Malone, judgemental Angela Martin, and many more.
