It seems that everybody is cursed with some kind of physical imperfection. Some people can address these perceived flaws, while others must live with them. Women who feel that their breasts are too small can get them enlarged. Heck, if a guy decides that he wants to have breasts, then that can be done, too. If you have a visible mole, you can have it removed, and if you don’t like the way your face looks, then there's a surgeon for that as well. We live in an age where changing certain physical attributes and features is an everyday occurrence.
One thing that's nearly impossible to change, though, is one’s height. Whether you're 7 feet tall or 3 feet tall, there's next to nothing you can do about it. It’s a good bet that if humans were to develop the capability to alter a person’s height that people would be lining up to become taller or shorter. Until then, we just have to live with our vertical realities.
There are certain advantages to being short, but being small in stature can be quite frustrating. Short people have to live with being stared at, laughed at, and occasionally patted on the head. It’s no secret that airlines are stuffing more and more people onto airplanes, which severely restricts the amount of room that each passenger has.
