The name Netflix rolls well off the tongue, doesn’t it? Pretty much everyone that has access to the internet knows what Netflix is. Founded by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph, the site specializes in providing entertainment content both online and through the mail. Over 103.95 million people are subscribed to the site today. Not bad for a company that had just had a few dozen employees when it started.

Netflix originally was a means to compete with Blockbuster but it has turned into its own monster. Hollywood thought of it as a fly on their back, however, Netflix has revolutionized and changed the way we receive our content. Not only have they changed the way we watch content, such as binge watching, they’ve also found a way to produce their own original content.

You can pretty much find any type of genre and subgenre you want on Netflix. They’ve even made up more than a few genres of their own, such as Hidden Gem Fight-the-System Movies and Classic Feel-good Opposites-Attract Movies. Pretty much everyone is satisfied with Netflix which is good for us, the audience. As they grow stronger, they will invite competition, and through that competition, a better streaming service product will be made. Good Luck.
