If You Only Listen To Taylor Swift, You'll Never Pass This Country Music Quiz

Taylor Swift's first album was so sweet, wasn't it? I mean in both senses of the word. Her ethereal voice captivated our ears while she sang song after song about her boy-crazy high school days. Honestly, I'm surprised those guys never noticed her. That blond curly hair (well, straight now) could entice anyone, in my opinion. It's also sweet in that kickbutt kind of way. She wrote all those songs herself, as well as the lyrics. No doubt, she is definitely talented. I could definitely relate to Best Day, a lot. If you're not familiar then look it up on YouTube once you get a chance. You'll get to see old footage of Taylor Swift in her teen years and her toddler days.

'However, those were her country music days. Now, she's a pop star. Not gonna lie though, I miss her sweet country girl image and all that curly hair.

Do you consider yourself a country music fan yet only listen to Taylor Swift? There's plenty more out there if your answer is yes. We have Tim McGraw, Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Thomas Rhett, Carrie Underwood, and many more. Hopefully you recognized some of the names in that list. If you could name a few songs from each of those artists then you should have no trouble getting a perfect score on this country music quiz. So let's begin!

Question 1

Who is this guy?

Alright so if you don't know the answer to this question then you will not do well on the rest of this quiz. He married another famous country music singer and ever since they have been doing adorably romantic songs together. He is kind of an older fella now. This is a picture of him from his heydays. My mom is a big fan of him and she's in her 60s. So can you name this ultra famous country singer?

Question 2

Who is this woman?

She's another famous name in the country music genre. If you don't know who this is then you may want to go back and listen to your old records again. (Records are still kind of cool, right?) Some of her famous songs are "Breathe", "This Kiss", and "The Way You Love Me". Honestly those hints should totally give it away. She's one of the most famous country music singers ever. Although she is in her 50s she is still making music.

Question 3

Name this song!

Here's a hint: it's by Tim McGraw "He said / 'I was in my early forties / With a lot of life before me / And a moment came that stopped me / on a dime / I spent most of the next days / Looking at the x-rays / Talkin' 'bout the options / And talkin' / 'bout sweet time' / I asked him / 'When it sank in / That this might really be the real end / How's it hit you / When you get that kind of news? / Man, what'd you do?'"

Question 4

Who is this?

She is the best. She has written some of the most fun songs to sing in the car driving to work or to karaoke to. At least that's just my opinion. She's written a ton of hits and she tends to write snarky, sassy songs. If you know who this is then you know exactly who I am talking about. Apparently she's from Canada and she is the best selling female country music singer ever according to Wikipedia. In other words, she's awesome

Question 5

Who is she?

She won American Idol awhile back and has been making hit songs ever since. Her most famous song is "Jesus, Take The Wheel" and it was one of the first songs she made. According to Wikipedia her American Idol winnings got her a "recording contract worth at least a million dollars, use of a private jet for a year, and a Ford Mustang convertible." For some reason it seems a little silly to me to throw in a convertible but whatever.

Question 6

Name this song!

Here's a hint: it's written by the answer to that last question. "Lyrics: Right now, he's probably slow dancing / With a bleached-blond tramp / And she's probably / getting frisky / Right now, he's probably buying / Her some fruity little drink / 'Cause she can't shoot / whiskey / Right now, he's probably up behind her / With a pool-stick / Showing her how to shoot a / combo / And he don't know / I dug my key into the side / Of his pretty little souped-up four-wheel / drive." Do you know this song?

Question 7

What song is this a screenshot of?

It's Faith Hill, obviously. You should probably know that from the second question. Unless you got it wrong, that is. This is one of her most famous songs and one that I know all the words to and will totally belt out in the shower or while driving. Country music songs are so much fun to sing. That's why we love them! Also talking about fast horses and our hometown if pretty fun too. So do you know what song goes with this picture?

Question 8

Who wrote "What Hurts The Most"?

I guess this band was a two hit wonder because I kind of stopped hearing them after it the radio stopped playing these two songs. But man, this song was tearing up our waves for a good two years. It's a good song, no doubt. It's one that I haven't heard in awhile (let's say middle school). Here's a hint: this band also wrote "Life's A Highway". That song was in the soundtrack for the Pixar movie, Cars. The picture is a snapshot from the music video.

Question 9

Name this song!

Wow Tim McGraw can really sing tear-jerkers. This song makes me cry almost every time. Here's the lyrics from the song I'm referring to: "All our tears have reached the sea / Part of you will live in me / Way down deep inside my heart / The days keep coming without fail / New wind is gonna find your sail / That's where your journey starts / You'll find better love / Strong as it ever was / Deep as the river runs / Warm as the morning sun"

Question 10

Who wrote "Don't Take The Girl"?

This is by far one of my favorites by this artists. It definitely has that country music feel to it. The twangy guitar and all those boys names like "Johnny Johnson, Tommy Thompson". I can't help but snicker a little whenever that part comes up. The music video complements this song quite nicely. Albeit, some music videos kind of ruin it. Kind of like the one for "What Hurts The Most" by Rascal Flatts. Don't watch it. It's kind of bad.

Question 11

Who is this guy?

I didn't discover this guy until just recently. He's got an amazing voice I have to admit. He sang "Home" with Michael Buble a few years back and personally I think he sounds better singing it than Michael Buble did. And Michael Buble is the original singer of it. He didn't gain fame or notoriety until 2001 with the song "Austin". If you're a fan of this guy then you probably know that one by heart. Personally I've never heard it before but I will pretty soon.

Question 12

Who is this guy?

He's really really cute. He also wrote the song "Get Me Some Of That". It's a song with an adorable music video about a guy meeting a girl at a club to go along with it. I believe it was really popular about five or six years ago. He's written songs for many other bands including Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Lee Brice and many more. He's only 29 so hopefully he cranks out a few more hits pretty soon.

Question 13

Name this song!

It's by a woman I have not asked in a question yet, if that helps any. "I hope you never lose your sense of wonder / You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger / May you never take one single breath for granted / God forbid love ever leave you empty handed / I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean / Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens / Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance / And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance"

Question 14

Who wrote "This One's For The Girls"?

Okay so the questions are getting a little bit trickier. This artist hasn't sold that many hits, at least not too many in recent years. This song is definitely one of those feel-good party songs that you might have played during a sleepover or something. It's pretty dang girly, but it has that country vibe to it making it a classic country song. This singer is known for blurring the lines between pop music and country music. Do you think you know?

Question 15

Who wrote "That's Who I Am"?

This is a bit trickier than the last one. She's a pretty obscure country music singer. This was her most famous song and rightfully so. It's great. I used to sing this one with my mom. The lyrics are just amazing. They're very uplifting and they remind us that it's okay to be a total dork, to not get the opportunity to travel the world, and to feel like you don't have it together sometimes. It's pretty reassuring and if you're not familiar with the song then you should look it up. And yeah that's a picture of her eye while she's singing in the music video.

Question 16

Who sang "But I Do Love You"?

This is a picture of the singer. Have you ever seen the movie Coyote Ugly? Well, the singer in question was in that movie and during it she sang that song. The movie came out in 2001 and was a pretty big hit back then. It's been awhile since I've seen it. All I remember are a bunch of blonde women singing in a bar, probably because that's what most of the movie shows. It's definitely good though, according to other people.

Question 17

Who wrote "Big Iron"?

Alright now this is the hardest one. I'd be kind of shocked if anyone got this. My cousin knows this song so it can't be that obscure. It's a country western ballad about a new guy riding into town facing a guy named Texas Red. Not too spoil anything but Texas Red dies and the ranger with a "big iron" on his hip wins. I only know this song from the game "Fall Out". Your boyfriend or husband might actually know this song if you're still scratching your head.

Question 18

Who recently sang "All Summer Long"?

Alright this one is much, much easier. This song actually references the state I was born in, Michigan. This song captures Michigan summers quite nicely and yeah Michigan summers are the best. We have five great lakes which are perfect for swimming, jet skiing, boating, and body surfing. Although there usually aren't enough waves for actual surfing. It's way more pleasant to get freshwater in your eyes rather than saltwater. So what guy recently sang this song? He didn't write it, but he brought it back from the past.

Question 21

Who is this woman?

Okay so she had a reality sitcom named after her, which was not bad at all to be honest. I'm pretty sure it's still airing on TV Land or whatever channel aires all the old sitcoms like Everybody Loves Raymond and Golden Girls. I'm not that familiar with her songs but she is very popular in the country music world. She is considered the Queen of Country music. She is probably one of the best selling country music artists ever.

Question 22

Who is this guy?

This guy is sort of a jack of all trades. Not only is he a popular country music star, he had a brief career in baseball. He married his high school sweetheart and led campaign to support gay rights. Some of his popular albums include No Fences, Ropin' the Wind, The Hits, Sevens, Double Live, and The Ultimate Hits. Who is he?

Name this song!

Here's a hint: it's one of Garth Brook's most famous songs. It should be easy if you're a big fan of him. "Sometimes late at night / I lie awake and watch her sleeping / She's lost in peaceful dreams So I turn out the lights and lay there in the dark / And the thought crosses my mind - / If I never wake up / in the morning / Would she ever doubt the way I feel / About her in my heart?" So what's the name of this song?

Alright so his most famous song is "All My Friends Say". He was born in Georgia on a peanut farm. He went on to earn a degree in business administration. This singer should probably dedicate a song especially for his father since he's the reason why he is a country music star.

Question 25

Who is this guy?

He has a very country western name. He's also married to Rene Zellweger and apparently during Hurricane Irma he helped out some of the victims. He weathered the storm in his mansion in the Virgin Islands. He also taught himself to play guitar without any prior lessons. Some of his popular albums include In My Wildest Dreams, All I Need To Know, Me And You, I Will Stand, and many more. He seems like a great guy aside from being a musician because of his philanthropic work.

Question 26

Name this song!

"It was two weeks after the day she turned eighteen / All dressed in white, going to the church that night / She had his box of letters in the passenger seat / Sixpence in her shoe / Something borrowed, something blue / And when the church doors opened up wide / She put her veil down trying to hide the tears / Oh she just couldn't believe it / She heard the trumpets from the military band / And the flowers fell out of her hands / Baby, why'd you leave me, why'd you have to go / I was counting on forever, now I'll never know"

Question 27

Who is this?

Alright so she has a solo career and she's also in a band called the Pistol Annies. Her debut album came out in 2005 called Kerosene. I don't think she's come out with any hits in recent years. At least not to my knowledge. Do you know who I'm referring to?

Question 29

Name this song!

This is another song sung by Carrie Underwood. Do you know what it's called? "Since the day they got married, / He'd been praying for a little baby boy. / Someone he could take fishing, / Throw the football and be his pride and joy. / He could already see him holding that trophy, / Taking his team to State. / But when the nurse came in with a little pink blanket, / All those big dreams changed. / And now he's wrapped around her finger, / She's the center of his whole world."

Question 30

Who wrote the song "Chicken Fried"?

It's a song that came out in 2008 and it's about cherishing the little things in life like a nice, cold beer, listening to the radio, making a toast with friends, or snuggling up with your lady at night. It was nominated for a Grammy but I guess it didn't win. After all, it's a song called Chicken Fried. Maybe it's just me but it just doesn't scream award-winning material. Can you guess who came out with this song back in 2008?

Question 31

True or False: Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are married

Well, despite them being married or not, they have written a couple songs together. Some of those are my favorites. I'm not sure if you've seen pictures of Tim McGraw recently but it looks like he lost weight and he looks a bit weird if I'm going to be blunt about it. Some people look better skinny; he just doesn't though. Also, Faith Hill is really tall. She's about 5' 10" which is pretty dang tall for an American woman.

Question 32

Name this song!

"Don't look so lonely, don't act so blue / I know I'm not the only girl you run to I know about Lolita, your little Spanish flame / I've seen you around with Rita, the redhead down the lane / And whose heart did you steal I wonder? / This time did it feel like thunder, baby? / And who did you run to? / And whose lips have you been kissin'? / And whose ear did you make a wish in? / Is she the one that you've been missin', baby?"

Question 33

Who sang "Strawberry Wine"?

This is a name you haven't really heard too much about. I guess this person was a one-hit wonder. It comes from the hilariously named album "Did I Shave My Legs For This". The song is about the singer losing his or her innocence during their teen years and compares it to strawberry wine. I have not strawberry wine so I guess the metaphor is lost on me. It may make a lot of sense to you. Do you know who sang this?

Question 34

Who is she?

She sang a very popular song called "A Little Bit Stronger" and like that one song from Marty Robbins it is a country ballad.
