If You Fail This 'Office' Quiz, You're A Dead Beet

It seems hard to believe but The Office has been off the air for almost five years now. I know, I know, this is a show that will be in perpetual syndication and on streaming services forever. But still, does it really seem like almost five years since the airing of the very last new episode of one of our favorite sitcoms ever? It sure doesn't to me. Actually, it seems like just yesterday that our favorite eclectic gang of salespeople, accountants, clerks, secretaries, and interns graced our screens with their wild and wooly presence.

Who can ever forget the fun the employees of Dunder Mifflin had when they were supposed to be, you know, working? Who ever thought that a little city in Pennsylvania could be such a hotbed of wacky behavior? Honestly, who in the world would have ever believed that Dwight Schrute would insinuate himself into their permanent memories???

The Office was, simply put, awesome. Sitcoms don't always go for the laugh-out-loud, gut-busting humor that the writers and creators of The Office did and for good reason. If your jokes fall flat you're panned by the critics, ignored by the TV-watching populace and dropped by the networks. It's often better to play it safe with mild or inoffensive humor on a sitcom. But not The Office- no way. This was a show that went for it every time, making you cringe in delightful horror and coming back for more every week. You know you did- I sure did.

But how well do you remember it nowadays? Go ahead and take our quiz to find out whether you're a true "Dunderhead" or just someone who "Sucks It." And I'm sure you all know what I just did there, right, right, right?

Question 1

Finish This Phrase...

"Beets, Bears,_____" Hmmm, you're thinking to yourself- what the hell is he talking about? Well, if you remember Jim and Dwight's relationship (and how could we not remember such a hilarious "friendship?") then you probably remember all the times that Jim made fun of Dwight or played practical jokes on him. This particular phrase came about when Jim decided to dress up like Dwight, act like Dwight, and generally drive Dwight stone cold crazy. It worked too- but then everything drives Dwight crazy. How does the above phrase end?

Question 2

What Was Dwight's Cousin's Name?

It's no secret that Dwight Schrute is a weird dude, perhaps one of the strangest characters to ever grace a major network sitcom. But what's really scary is that Dwight seems downright normal compared to some of the other denizens- excuse me, family members- who inhabit the Schrute family beet farm. A case in point would be Dwight's bearded cousin. You know, the full-grown man in the Jurassic Park pajamas who likes to chase cars? Yeah, that guy. What's his name?

Question 3

What Is The Full Name Of The Company?

Here's another one that you better get correct my friends. With a huge corporate office in New York City and branches in Albany, Utica, Scranton, Akron, Nashua, Buffalo and Rochester, the company that everyone in The Office works for is (or was) a major regional paper supply company. Of course, because this is The Office, after all, there were more than a few hiccups along the way for the company that Michael Scott loved so dearly. Branch closings, corporate takeovers, bankruptcy, and awful employee behavior were more the norm than the exception at this company.

Question 4

What City Was The Office Set In?

OK, we all know that part of the attraction of The Office was that it took place in a typical, small, American city. It wasn't about stylish twentysomethings or corporate big shots yukking it up in places like New York, Los Angeles or even Chicago. Instead it was about a collection of "regular" Americans dealing with real life. Well, except for maybe Michael Scott, who was neither regular nor seemingly ever dealt with real life! In what city was The Office located?

Question 5

What Was Pam's First Boyfriend's Name?

We all know that Pam and Jim had a long, sometimes rocky relationship before true love finally won and they tied the knot. Before Jim (well, before Jim told her his feelings about her) Pam was heavily involved with one of the guys who worked in the Dunder Mifflin warehouse downstairs. In fact, as I'm sure you're aware, she was engaged to this guy and had been for three years. His inability to make a commitment to her eventually helped Jim's cause. Well, that and the fact that he was kind of a jerk to Pam as well.

Question 6

How Many Accountants Were In The Office?

In the real world an accountant is usually a fairly reserved person, one who can be trusted to be calm, sane, and rational when everyone else is freaking out. After all, working with numbers all day attracts a particular kind of person- logical math people, to be precise. Without giving away any secrets that's probably not precisely the way the job title is filled in the world of The Office. Then again, I'm not sure any position there is filled by a "normal" person... So how many accountants were there?

Question 7

Where Did Pam & Jim Get Married?

C'mon everybody- this one is a gimme! We all know that Jim and Pam's proper, official wedding plans became a total disaster. How could they not have been, what with Michael and Dwight on the prowl for chicks and Andy puncturing his scrotum during his "Dance Party." And let's not forget Jim accidentally giving away the secret of Pam's pregnancy during his rehearsal dinner toast. But Jim and Pam did eventually get married, even if it wasn't in the church where it was supposed to happen. Where was it?

Question 8

Who Invented The "Suck It?"

The Suck It is an awesome device, in my humble opinion. It's one of the greatest pieces of imaginary tech to come out of a screenwriter's brain. Basically, the Suck It was invented to pick up small toys, specifically Legos. It was also designed to be child-sized so that children could learn to clean up after themselves. Talk about brilliant! Oh yeah, and it also supposedly cleans up nuclear and chemical waste really well, which is why its inventor sold the patent to the U.S. military for millions and millions of dollars. Who was it?

Question 9

What Is A Dundie?

Another episode that is in the Michael Scott "One cringes every time one sees it" Hall of Fame. If you recall from all of those hours binging on The Office on Netflix, Michael has a certain special something when it comes to making a public spectacle of himself, not to mention making everyone around him incredibly embarrassed to be associated with him. This episode is about as good as it gets in that department, as Michael drags the whole office crew to a local watering hole for a night of horribly misguided "comedy."

Question 10

What Sport do The Office And warehouse staff play against each other?

There was always a little bit of tension between Michael and the white-collar staff upstairs and Darryl and the blue-collar warehouse workers downstairs. Well, there wasn't really that much other than the weird, imaginary static Michael created. That and Jim's little feud with Pam's ex-fiance. But Michael liked to push buttons and one button he pushed was to challenge the warehouse gang to a competitive match in a particular sport that he thought he excelled in. The game was close but Michael was forced to admit the warehouse group won it. What was it?

Question 11

What Company Was Jo Bennett The Ceo Of?

One of the more memorable recurring characters to land on The Office was Jo Bennett, the hard-as-nails southern belle who arrived in season six when her printer company bought out Dunder Mifflin. It's hard to ignore a brash, ballsy chief executive officer who brings a pair of Great Danes with her everywhere she goes (not to mention her personal servant, excuse me- assistant- Gabe. Jo also has little use for the antics of Michael, which leads to some decidedly fun interaction for a few seasons.

Question 12

What Is Holly's Last Name?

Everybody remembers Holly, right? She was the new Human Resources rep when Toby "retired." She was also perhaps the only one who actually "got" Michael- after he stopped freakishly hazing her, of course. Which probably explains why she eventually married Michael and moved to Colorado with him when he left Dunder Mifflin. But it's no fair choosing Scott as her last name. Nope, not at all. We're looking for her actual maiden name here- what do you think it is?

Question 13

Who Marries Bob Vance?

Dunder Mifflin wasn't the only company to have office and warehouse space in the Scranton Business Park at 1725 Slough Avenue (see, I just gave you another useless piece of trivia- Dunder Mifflin's address!). There was another company that shared office space on the second floor, one that would end up being pretty important to the show. That company was none other than Vance Refrigeration, owned by the mighty Bob Vance. Bob got pretty involved with one of the ladies from The Office and ended up marrying her. Who was it?

Question 14

Where Were The First Dundies Held?

We were just talking about the Dundies, right? What an awesomely insane episode that was, as Michael either ostracized or offended everyone there and Pam got, shall we say, a little tipsy and kissed Jim on the lips (and this in only the second season!) The best part might have been Michael awarding Ryan "Hottest in the Office." Might have been, if it weren't for Pam and the fact that the restaurant manager said she'll never be allowed back to that establishment. What was it?

Question 15

What Is The Name Of Michael's Screenplay?

One of the great episodes in Office history occurred when we finally got to see Michael's screenplay come to life on the big screen. OK, OK, so we got to see the gang play all the characters in a hand-held camera, home movie-esque production that premiered in the conference room but still! As Jim said, this was"the great lost movie of Michael Scott!" I'm not sure what was the most fun; Dwight as an android, Michael's ridiculous treatment of Toby's hostage character, Jim as the bad guy or simply the title of the movie itself...

Question 16

Who Played Deangelo Vickers?

Do you remember Deangelo Vickers? He was a stalwart of the transition from the Michael Scott era to the Robert california era. OK, actually, he was only on the show for four gloriously ragged and whacked-out episodes. Deangelo was the branch manager who replaced Michael Scott when Michael moved to Colorado. He was, of course, also a "professional" juggler except that he used invisible balls. That should have been an early clue that Deangelo was quite possibly more insane than his predecessor! Who played this all-too-briefly seen crazy man?

Question 17

What Is Creed's Job Title?

Creed might actually be the oddest person in the entire office gang and that is saying quite a bit my friends, quite a bit. For one thing, he had one of the most memorable offbeat lines in the show ever when he admitted he joined multiple religious cults because "You have more fun as a follower, but you make more money as a leader." He also never remembers anyone's name and is totally dishonest. Just the traits you want for his position! What is it?

Question 18

What Show did Gabe Host A Viewing Party For?

Gabe was another pretty weird guy in a long line of weird guys who came and went on The Office. Do you remember when we first saw Gabe? He seemed like a harmless nerd-type. Even if his interests in swords and erotic art were a little bit creepy. But what was really creepy was all the disasters that beset the gang when Gabe hosted a viewing party for his favorite show. Who can forget Andy getting wacky on an ancient Chinese virility potion he finds in Gabe's room? What show did Gabe host the party for?

Question 19

Where Did Toby "Retire" To?

Poor Toby. Hated by Michael and constantly ostracized, the resident human resources guy, who seemed to be a pretty mellow dude, never had a chance against the craziness of an office that included Michael, Dwight, Creed, Kevin and the like. Of course Toby's other big problem was his massive, unrequited crush on Pam. So given that he was hopelessly in love with a woman that was never going to date him and hated by his boss, Toby did the only thing any sane, rational person would do. He "retired" to an exotic location. Where was it?

Question 20

What Is The Name Of Dunder Mifflin's Security Guard?

Amazingly enough, only one member of the entire office staff knew the name of their corporate park's security guard the night that they were all locked in the parking lot. That person was Creed, who couldn't ever be bothered to remember the names of his actual co-workers! For awhile Dwight got to know the security guard as well when he became his "assistant." This character was pictured in a lot of episodes and even had speaking lines on a handful of occasions- who was he?

Question 21

Who Did "Parkour" In An Episode?

Do you remember the internet and YouTube sensation that was Parkour? You know, that crazy "freerunning" sport where people flip over cars, jump off buildings and generally do insanely athletic things for no reason. It was actually based on military obstacle course training and is still around. Just don't expect that the guys from The Office who tried it to be experts. In fact, these three guys were idiots and one of them ended up injuring himself. Who tried their hand at Parkour?

Question 22

What Is Stanley's hobby?

Stanley did not have time for the hijinks of The Office, especially Michael's. So if there was one thing you could always count on with Stanley, it was that pretty much any time Michael announced a staff meeting Stanley would fall back on his favorite hobby. In fact, Stanley would openly do this hobby right in front of Michael and everyone else. I know Stanley was basically a grump who had no respect for his job, his co-workers and especially his boss, but still- c'mon guy!

Question 23

What Is The Name Of The Company Website?

Back when Ryan graduated from business school and became the corporate manager of Dunder Mifflin (replacing Jan in the process) he had a lot of big ideas and plans for the company, starting with the revamped website that was his pet project. Then again, it really seems like Ryan's pet project was enjoying the New York nightlife, as he quickly sank into oblivion in his new position. Needless to say, with Ryan paying little or no attention to his new duties and focusing on partying, the website was not a hit.

Question 24

Which Co-Worker Does Michael Hit With His Car?

When you work with Michael Scott the chances are good that you're going to get hurt at some point in some way. It might be emotionally, it might be spiritually, it might be financially but it will happen. Remember, this is the guy who ran sensitivity trainings and sexual harassment seminars that ended up alienating almost the entire staff. However, nobody expects to be literally run over by their boss, am I right or am I right? Then again, we're talking about Michael Scott.

Question 25

Where did Ryan work after being fired from corporate?

Remember how we were just talking about Ryan and his partying ways as a Dunder Mifflin VP in the Big Apple? Well, as we all know, that didn't last long. In fact, Ryan was actually arrested for fraud after he cooked the numbers for his pet website. He was briefly rescued by Michael and returned to Scranton as a temp again, only to then disappear to Thailand. Where did Michael later find him working when he was recruiting salespeople for his new company?

Question 26

What Is Packer's License Plate?

If there was one guy on The Office who could make you cringe even more than Michael, it had to be good old Todd Packer, the Dunder Mifflin traveling salesman. When it came to atrocious behavior Packer was an expert on all of it. Off-color Jokes? Yup. Sexual harassment? You got it. Disgusting practical jokes gone wrong? Bingo. Packer was the worst and he reveled in his bad-boy reputation, a reputation that extended to the very license plate on his car. What did that plate say?

Question 27

Who did Angela marry first?

Before Angela married Dwight in the series finale- and that was a shocker, let me tell you- she had a few serious romances. OK, OK, I know that one of the romances was with Dwight himself but she also was very, very heavily involved with other co-workers and even a state senator. She was so heavily involved, in fact that she was twice engaged and once married before tying the knot with Dwight. Which character did she walk down the aisle with the first time?

Question 28

Who Gets A Three Month European Vacation From Dunder Mifflin?

One of the things you could always guarantee happening on The Office was some horrible (and very public) action by Michael that would backfire, throwing the company in a negative light or, at the very least, making Michael look like an idiot. There's a reason, after all, that CEO David Wallace is always calling Michael and ordering him (well, pleading with him) to shut his mouth. Of course it didn't always work, as evinced by Michael causing such a stink with an employee's personal life that the company gave the employee an extended European vacation as "hush money." Who got the vacation?

Question 29

What Is The Name Of The Bar The Gang Hangs At?

Do you remember when Devon was fired by Michael (after Creed convinced Michael not to fire him) and he yelled out a list of people who could join him at the local watering hole? It's no surprise that Devon would mention this place, as the cast of The Office, both upstairs and warehouse characters, would often be seen here after work (and sometimes during). There's actually a real bar in Scranton with the same name as the fictional bar on the show- what is that name?

Question 30

What Character Does Darryl Play In Michael's Movie?

Back we go to the world's greatest movie. I still can't get over the scene where Goldenface (good old Jim) shoots hostage Toby repeatedly and very graphically, especially Michael's voice over that it was the most expensive scene in the movie but well worth it! Anyway, pretty much everybody in The Office had a role in Michael's movie, sometimes whether they wanted to or not. Darryl had a prominent one that was actually important to the story. Well, important to what story there was, that is...

Question 31

What Is Robert California's "Real" Name?

Robert California was one seriously weird dude. Perhaps not as weird as Deangelo Vickers or even Dwight but nonetheless an offbeat guy. I mean after all, if you're a guy who one day is applying for the branch manager position and the next has become the CEO of the entire company you've got some serious mojo. As Jim said of him "he creeps me out... but he might be a genius." He's definitely a mysterious dude, as is proven when it's revealed that his real name is different than the one everyone knows him by. What is it?

Question 32

How Does Andy ask Erin Out For The First Time?

We all know that Andy had some, shall we say, "issues," with his personal life. While he liked to brag about his romantic prowess he really didn't have a clue how to behave around the opposite sex and often made a mess of his relationships. After all, Angela went back to Dwight while she was supposedly with Andy (remember the Prius scene when he finds out?) In what insane way does he ask Erin out? I'll give you a hint- it totally backfires.

Question 33

What Is The Name Of Andy's Cornell A Capella Group?

Andy spends an inordinate amount of time "performing" music, even if his singing and made up lyrics tend to drive his co-workers nuts or are unfortunately way-too-awkward and socially inappropriate. I mean, after all, wouldn't you find it annoying if there was a guy in your office who was constantly pulling out his acoustic guitar and singing bad made-up folk songs??? I think your reaction would be the same as Andy's coworkers. He did have a successful singing career in school though, singing in which A Capella group?

Question 34

What Actor Is The Sabre Spokesperson?

Every major company needs a major spokesperson to help sell their product. We see it all the time in real life. Athletes like Tom Brady sell expensive watches and "tough guy" actors like Dennis Leary tell you all about how awesome a line of trucks are. So it stands to reason that a big-time player in the imaginary world of printers and paper that The Office inhabited would have a cool spokesperson. This actor was featured not only in Sabre's commercials but their employee training videos as well.

Question 35

Finish This Chant...

"Hey Mr. Scott, whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do? Make ____ ____ ____ ____!" If you don't remember this gem of an episode then you probably shouldn't be taking this quiz. If you recall, Michael somehow managed to intimate to a bunch of high schoolers (the infamous "Scott's Tot's") that he was going to pay for their college tuition. Ummm, no. Talk about awkward? This was one of the more cringe-inducing episodes ever on The Office, which is saying a lot. Hey, at least Michael came through with computer batteries for the kids...
