If You Don't Know Whether These Wrestlers Were WWE Champion, Quit Watching Raw

There are many factors that lead to a professional wrestler earning recognition as one of the greats in their industry. Strong interviews, high profile matches, and a handful of shiny championship belts are just a few of the pieces that decorate the road to the Hall of Fame. In Vince McMahon’s World Wrestling Entertainment, that last one might be most important, and least in regards to the WWE Championship. Nothing better signifies that a given superstar is the best in the world at what they do than holding the belt that has represented pro wrestling dominance since the early 1960s.

On the other hand, plenty of wrestlers have become pretty notable in their own right without ever coming close to WWE’s top prize. An ardent enough pro wrestling fan can probably name almost everyone on the current roster, regardless of whether or not they ever won the Cruiserweight title, let alone the big one. That said, they should also at least be able to wager a guess about that wrestler’s championship prospects given their place on the card and general talent level.

There’s a difference between a casual fan and a hardcore one, of course, so not everyone is going to know the life story and resume of every athlete on the current roster. However, if you consider yourself a hardcore expert of sports entertainment and you don’t know whether these wrestlers were WWE Champion, maybe you should quit watching Raw.
