If You Don't Get 100% On This Lion King Quiz, Your Childhood Sucked

The Lion King is a classic. This movie is great for both children and adults. There is some light hearted romance, drama, comedy and suspense. Simba is an Africa lion who is born unto King Mufasa and Queen Sarabi. His keeper is a teeny weeny little bird, named Zazu. Zazu is also the King's right hand bird.

The Lion King is also famous for all the sing along songs - and boy are there lots of them! Every occasion has a song. I'd say that they certainly set the tone to each scene. While this movie is also a bit of a tear jerker, we all fell in love with it for it's good morals and, of course, Timon and Pumbaa!

Many unlikely friendships seem to develop throughout the movie. I mean, who ever thought a lion cub, warthog and meerkat would be such big buddies? Ah! And what about Rafiki? The wise old monkey that wonders around with a walking stick that is ideal for knocking sense in to the character.

If you didn't sing along to 'The Circle of Life", "I Just Can't Wait to be King" or "Hakuna Matata" then I am afraid that your childhood was incomplete and maybe even tarnished! Never fear though - you can always watch the movie now to catch up!

Question 1

What is this cub's name?

This little cub was born in Pride Rock. Hi parents were feline royalty. In the opening scene of The Lion King we see this little guy getting held up in front of all of the animals in the jungle. Each and every one of them bowing to acknowledge his arrival. He is the main character in the movie and we all grow to have a deep love for him. Especially after the loss of his father. That's not where his story ends though...

Question 2

True or False: Scar leads the hyenas

Scar is Simba's dodgy uncle. He probably has a screw or two missing. Nonetheless, Scar is also the bad guy here. He kills Mufasa (and then blames Simba for it). He destroys Pride Rock and all that it stands for too. Scar hangs out with all the badies, like these crazy hyenas. It's probably because no one else really likes or even trusts him. I feel bad for Scar though, things could have turned out much better had he not been so greedy.

Question 3

What is Simba's Fathers Name?

This lion had such a gentle heart! Don't get me wrong, he sure can get angry but he was such a good dad. He played with his son, fought for him and ultimately, died for him too. Simba and Nala got themselves in to a sticky situation, but his dad saved the day! After that Simba got in to some trouble but he learnt a valuable lesson and he learnt that all the stars show past kings that will always look out for him

Question 4

Which lion is this?

The lion in this picture is my least favourite - probably because he killed his own brother and ruined Simba's life. He wreaks havoc in Pride Rock after Mufasa dies and Simba runs away. He even shoves little Zazu in to a cage. Oh, yes, he also makes Zazu sing... Something about a bunch of coconuts standing in a row.. This mean lion also like to sing. He gets the hyenas to sing along about Simba having to 'be prepared'...

Question 5

What is this monkey's name?

This monkey is too smart for his own good. We meet him right in the beginning of the movie, where he holds Simba off the front of Pride Rock, after his birth. He also teaches Simba a few life lessons and has a tendency to use his stick to knock sense in to the characters. He is also very witty, although a character of few words. I'd consider him an elder of the tribe, and certainly one of my favourites.

Question 6

What kind of animal is Timon?

Timon is such a funny guy. Always full of answers, opinions and great ideas. He ventures off in to the jungle with his best buddy, Pumbaa. They eat bugs for breakfast, lunch and supper... What Timon lacks in size he sure makes up for in personality...

Question 7

True or False: Pumbaa is a cow?

Pumbaa is Timon's side kick. They spend their time foraging for bugs to munch on. Pumbaa also enjoys long walks in the sun and naps. Of the pair, some may say he isn't the smarter one. But that's ok because what he lacks in smarts he makes up for in farts. He helps Timone rescue Simba and also helps him find himself, as a lion with an air to the throne of Pride Rock. He will fight to the death to protect his loved ones too!

Question 8

Finish this sentence: It means no worries for...

Hakuna Matata must be one of my favourite sing along songs from the many songs in The Lion King. Timon and Pumbaa teach Simba the words and meaning of the song while wondering through the jungle. It's what keeps them going, and keeps them united as a family too. Here is a snippet of the song: 'Hakuna Matata! What a wonderful phrase. Hakuna Matata! Ain't no passing craze." The song sets the tone for Simba's life for awhile, but he does eventually take his rightful place.

Question 9

This is a young female cub who spends her time getting baths from her mum and getting in to trouble with little Simba. Of course, Simba gets a lecture from his dad too.

Question 10

Is Shenzi a hyena?

When the Simba and Nala rush off to explore the elephant graveyard they get cornered by these three hungry hyenas. Not the brightest candles on the cake, but hey they scared the cubs. They can be rather ditsy and you cant help but laugh at them in some of the scenes. Maybe that's because they are laughing hyenas too?

Question 11

What is this bird's name?

This poor little blue bird puts up with so much. He really deserves a medal, or at least a bonus! He is the King's right hand man, but sometimes fulfils the role of singer, spy, babysitter and prey. He is very good at following instructions, even if against his will and better judgement. He is extremely smart and witty in his own way. After Mufasa dies though he gets dragged in to a cage where Scar makes him sing songs.

Question 12

True or False: Sarabi is Simba's mother?

Sarabi is a beautiful lioness who is 'married' to Mufasa. She also takes no nonsense, and she is a real tough cookie. If the feline world that means you get licked clean. Thank goodness us humans have showers and baths for that! Is Sarabi Simba's real mom?
