If You Can't Name These Designer Shoes, You Suck At Fashion

Welp! Ladies, we're in the middle of winter. So, we can shove those stilettos, ballet flats, clogs, and flip-flops (*sob*) to the back of our closets and make room for those knee-high boots, ankle booties, and sneakers. And don't forget to bring out the ol' Kiwi boot and shoe protector to keep dirt and road salt off those sweet kicks (especially those suede Timberlands). It's that time of year again to break out some organic hot chocolate and those awesome pink slippers you got from your last Target run. And while you're relaxing over the holidays, feel free to take this latest fashionista quiz to so you can find out exactly where you stand in terms of being able to match each picture of a designer shoe to its brand name.

Like becoming boy crazy as you get older, almost every girl alive has gone through that phase of being obsessed with shoes. I mean, they're just so pretty, and unlike the rest of your wardrobe, shoes won't admonish you for gaining a few pounds over the holidays from all the ugly sweater parties you felt obligated to go to. In fact, wearing heels consistently is a great way to get excellent calf muscles. Remember that burn you've felt walking upstairs or from when you had to stand after being in a crouch-like position from petting all those doggos? That's from your heels trying to whip your calves into shape for beach-body season. So basically, no matter how you look at it, having cute and sexy shoes is a win-win.

Think you've mastered the fashion-designer shoe world and want to put your knowledge to the test? Then let's put your knowledge (and smug-like attitude) to the test with this designer shoe quiz!

Question 1

What designer shoe brand is this?

Like history, fashion styles repeat themselves throughout the millennium. For example, remember those big, gaudy (and noisy) puffer jackets? Well, a few minutes perusing around Elle Magazine will tell you that, yes, they're in style again. Yup, I'm cringing, too. If you're a midwesterner like myself, then you've probably said sayonara to coats that end at your hips and said hello to long coats that cover your butt instead. I made the change a few years ago and never looked back. As for what boots I wear with them? Well, that's the answer to this question.

Question 2

What designer shoe brand is this?

I wish I took more advantage of this past summer and fall. I would've totally splurged and put some serious money down to get a "nice" pair of flip-flops. You know... the ones that don't break after a few weeks of wearing them around town. And if you've never had a pair of flip-flops break on you at a bar, then you can count yourself lucky because that's happened twice to me so far. If I had gotten this brand in question, then they probably wouldn't have ripped apart so easily.

Question 3

What designer shoe brand is this?

Okay, so if flip-flops aren't normally your game, then have you tried out Athenian-style sandals? You know... those sandals that typically come in the color gold that lace all the way up past your ankles, past your calves and right up to your kneecap? Athenian culture has stood the test of time and has reimagined itself in the fashion industry. But the thing is, these shoes weren't worn by women nearly as much as they were worn by men. Weird, right?

Question 4

What designer shoe brand is this?

Okay, full disclosure: I love slippers. I wear them outside, I wear them while cleaning my house, and sometimes, I wear them to bed (by accident, of course). And good slippers, the ones that feel amazing no matter how many times you wear them, are hard to find, unfortunately. The slipper shoe in the picture is what I used to wear around the house and outside. They were super expensive, but they were totally worth it. After all, why else would our grandparents still give us Christmas money after all these years?

Question 5

What designer shoe brand is this?

This, this, this!!! This is my all-time favorite shoe brand. All of its competitors try to mimic the style and theme going along with this designer brand, but to me, they just utterly fail. The front is all wrong. Take Rocket Dog, for example. The area where you put the ball of your foot is way too... bulbous. The designer brand I'm thinking of doesn't look that way. It's more rounded out and subtle looking. The people working for this brand actually thought of the shape of the person's foot, along with what looks good, when designing their shoes. Many brands seem to forgo functionality for the sake of looking better, which is unfortunate.

Question 6

What designer shoe brand is this?

Apparently, designer shoe brand companies don't make running shoes. Go figure. I don't really understand why, though. Those companies would make a killing if they added actual athletic shoes to their product line. I don't know if they're trying to say that fashionistas don't have the time or don't care enough to exercise, but whatever... So for now, we have shoes that look like they could be worn on your next trip to Anytime Fitness but really shouldn't be worn that way because you could damage the natural curve (or lack of a curve) of your foot by doing that.

Question 7

What designer shoe brand is this?

Vogue released their shoe styles for this winter not too long ago. And guess what made this year's list of hottest shoes to wear while we climb over huge mounds of snow trying to get to the car to go to work? Cowboy boots. Yes, I'm shuddering, too. I cannot stand the style of cowboy boots. But hopefully, your opinion is different from mine so you can enjoy wearing your cowboy boots. This time, they'll be considered "in" rather than retro.

Question 8

What designer shoe brand is this?

Honestly, cowboy boots aren't even warm. I don't understand how they aren't being shoved to the side as the wheel of fashion trends keeps turning through the decades. Now, if you're from Canada or just any area 30 or so degrees north of the equator, then you probably have had your fair share of freezing winters. And I don't think we ever really get used to it, much to contrary belief. We just kinda deal with it each year, but I guess that's what they make hot cocoa for. And moon boots! If you don't know what they are, then just know this: they're the warmest style of shoes on the market.

Question 9

What designer shoe brand is this?

Oh, and glittery shoes are in right now. Eek! I don't know if there's some kind of evolutionary advantage for girls liking glitter or what. I just know I like glittery things (and chocolate, but that's for a different quiz). Now, to take Vogue's way of putting it: "we can be dancing queens from outer space" with this new wintry style. Sounds good to me. Now, can you match the shoe brand name with its picture to the right?

Question 10

What designer shoe brand is this?

I suppose runway has been inspired by the Wizard of Oz recently because red, bold boots have made it to their fashion winter trend list for this year. Or maybe they were inspired by Cruella de Vil, who knows? But I think you can make a statement at any New Year's Day party with a pair of shoes like the ones depicted to the right. If you do go out and buy a pair of boots like this, then try to wear a red scarf or hat with it. Trust me!

Question 11

What designer shoe brand is this on the left?

Okay, so there are three different brands pictured here to the right. They were all at Paris Fashion Week earlier this year. Can you tell which brand is the first one on the left? Honestly, stuff like this makes me wonder. I suppose I opt more for functionality than looks because I would never be caught dead wearing white, ever. It. Always. Gets. Dirty. But maybe, some of you are a lot neater when eating or you actually check your pants pockets for lip balms prior to washing them. I don't. And therefore, I have stains on a majority of my clothes.

Question 12

What designer shoe brand is this on the left?

Same as before, these three shoe brands were modeled at this year's Fashion Week in Paris. All of those shoes have the same style: the two-tone look. Can you guess the designer brand of the heels on the left? Wearing heels like this makes a pretty bold statement, so you shouldn't wear one of your old Blink 182 band shirts with this. Instead, try wearing these with a navy blazer and some off-white pants. Remember, you don't want to take too much attention away from your shoes. The key is to smooth out the look with neutral, non-showy clothing.

Question 13

What designer shoe brand is this on the right?

I wonder if from far away it looks like these women are wearing tiny stuffed animals on their feet. And I can't see how someone would want to wear these in the snow. Wouldn't it stick to the fabric and then be a nightmare to get off? I guess if I ever got a pair of these (by the way, these are moon boots, too) I would just wear them around the house. Or have the holiday parties come to me by hosting one of them myself.

Question 14

What designer shoe brand is this?

Almost every girl likes ballet flats. They were super popular about ten years ago (when I first discovered them). Now, their popularity has plateaued in recent years. At least with these kinds of shoes, you know you won't ever be out of style. Granted, you might be cold with these shoes. But if that's the case, stores like DSW sell small socks designed to not show when wearing ballet flats. They might make your feet a bit more cramped, but that's why I usually get shoes slightly bigger anyway.

Question 15

What designer shoe brand is this?

Pumps. Stilettos. Heels. They're things to be hated and things to be adored. On one hand, they make your calves look awesome and enhance your natural curves. On the other hand, they hurt. A lot. It does get better the more you wear them. But man, that first day of wearing pumps can be absolute torture. So, after this winter season is over, if you haven't worn heels in a while, then I would recommend that you wear some medical tape on the back of your foot. It will prevent those god-awful blisters from popping up.

Question 16

What designer shoe brand is this?

Hey, did you know that pumps and stilettos aren't the same things? According to Diffen.com, "pumps are usually closed-toe or peep-toe with a heel of one inch or less," whereas stilettos "can be with straps or covered...[and] have a thin long heel of one inch or more." It looks like I'm a pumps girl myself. Too much taller and I start to lose my balance, which isn't fun when trying to climb a flight of stairs.

Question 17

What designer shoe brand is this?

Clogs are a must-have for fall, especially the plaid kind. There's just something about them that makes them look great against the backdrop of fallen leaves and naked trees. They're laid back, casual, and can be worn just about anywhere you go. Plus, they can be worn with socks without making yourself look too dorky. And they're so easy to take on or off. They're perfect for when you're running late for your college's tailgate party.

Question 18

What designer shoe brand is this?

Does anyone wear wedges anymore? They're perfect for those springtime social gatherings like Mother's Day, Easter, and those spring birthday parties. They look great with those white floral dresses that you can always find at your closest Forever 21. Although it will be a while until we can wear wedges again, now may be a great time to buy some spring/summer shoes. This is when they're the cheapest; however, the selection will be pretty lacking in diversity and newness. But hey, you might get lucky and score cute wedges in the clearance section.

Question 19

What designer shoe brand is this?

I never buy shoes online. There's just too much variability in terms of size from brand to brand. The shoe's fit is something iconic to the brand. You're not really throwing your money away too much when buying top-of-the-line shoes. You're paying for a certain fit - something that's integral to the shoe brand's manufacturing. Don't believe me? Then just try on a pair of Target-brand flats and compare them to the feel of an authentic pair of Nine West flats. There's no competition.

Question 20

What designer shoe brand is this?

Is it safe to assume that whoever takes this quiz and makes it this far has probably seen the movie "The Devil Wears Prada" with Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway at least five times? If you haven't seen it and you consider yourself a fashionista, then go watch it as soon as possible. You'll get to watch all your favorite shoe brands get the recognition they deserve to have in films and movies. To be honest, I learned about some of my favorite shoe brands from that movie.

Question 21

What designer shoe brand is this?

I never buy suede anymore. Yes, they have suede shampoos for shoes and protectors to keep them looking nice, but it's just not the same once you get some gross mud caked on the sides. I like to be able to step where I want to step without worrying about how dirty my shoes will get. Payless now has become the store for all things suede. It's an exaggeration but not a far-fetched one since about half of their selection seems to have suede on it.

Question 22

What designer shoe brand is this?

If you look closely, you can see that these shoes are completely bedazzled. We have bedazzled jeans, bedazzled iphone cases, and bedazzled wallets. I guess society figures it has us women pegged down. Well, almost, at least. Yeah, we're girls... We like glitter, sweets, and romcoms (romantic comedies)... but bedazzled shoes? I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but the beads fall out eventually. Maybe high-end fashion brands have stronger adhesive, but I would never get an off-brand pair of bedazzled shoes.

Question 23

What designer shoe brand is this?

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that floral patterns will always be in style during the spring? It makes sense, right? Our annual daffodils and tulips start to show off their colors again almost as soon as the last remnants of winter have evaporated away. It's bittersweet in a way because all the holiday parties are over, and the world has moved on from all the festivities and resumes its usual grind. Can you guess this brand?

Question 24

What designer shoe brand is this?

This designer shoe brand is known for being, well... preposterous. It takes inspiration from 16th, 20th, and 21st-century styles and combines them into a style very unique to this brand. And this brand really makes you put your money where your mouth is. You can easily spend a grand or more on these shoes, but if you happen to see them go for as low as 600 dollars, then you might want to consider getting them because that kind of price deduction only happens once in a blue moon.

Question 25

What designer shoe brand is this?

I've saved the best for last. Well, at least, I've saved the most expensive for last. This brand is considered one of the most expensive brands on Earth. And this company is about as old as time, dating back to 1854. This company is a good example of how good companies rise to the top. Rather than capitalizing on superficial things like color or style, this company views shoes (all clothing, really) as works of art and attempts to put a lot of love and effort into their product lines.
