It's difficult to imagine that when Supernatural first hit the small screen back in 2005, creator Eric Kripke wasn't entirely sure that the series would even make it to a 2nd season. Here we are in 2017 and the show about two brothers continuing the “family business” has been going strong for 12 seasons, with a 13th already on the way. There has been talk of Supernatural finally coming to an end with its 300th episode – which would be during Season 14 – but that has yet to be confirmed.

By this point, Sam and Dean have seen Heaven, Hell and pretty much everything in between. They've fought angels, demons and even Death himself. The brothers have hung out with God and defeated the Devil, and not even dying has stopped them from “saving people” and “hunting things”.

How big of a Supernatural fan are you? Have you been following the Winchesters’ exploits since the very beginning? Do you well up with tears at the thought of the series finally ending? Does the opening line of “Carry On Wayward Son” give you all the feels? Well then, you might just ace this quiz. Let’s find out, How Well Do You Know Sam And Dean Winchester?

Question 1

Where did Sam go to school?

Jared Padalecki Sam Winchester Supernatural

There have been some canon discrepancies as to how long Sam actually attended this college, but he was most likely finishing up his B.A. when Dean came to him for help. Sam is incredibly intelligent, so he probably had his pick of schools when he chose to leave hunting behind him. It was a very difficult decision for him and if he had it all to do over again, Sam may have done things differently. Which school was he attending?

Question 2

Who caused Dean to die over 100 times?

In the season 3 episode, “Mystery Spot”, someone found new and inventive ways to kill Dean over and over and…over. The character viewed Dean as Sam’s weakness and this exercise was meant to prove to him that he needed to let his brother go. Poor Dean got shot, electrocuted and even mauled. As for Sam, his Groundhog Day began anew with the same Asia song every morning, followed a series of unchanging events and the experience of watching his brother die again and again, albeit in rather amusing ways.

Question 3

How did Dean die?

Dean dead Supernatural

Sam and Dean have been a consistent annoyance to basically everyone in both Heaven and Hell. Fantasies of killing the Winchesters had probably begun to occupy quite a bit of space in a great many brains. Both brothers have died on more than one occasion, but they always seem to find a loophole. Too bad that doesn’t work for the rest of us. Perhaps if we were all saving the world on a regular basis, things would be different. How did Dean Winchester meet his end?

Question 4

What Mark was transferred to Dean?

Mark_of_Cain Supernatural

This mark was created as a seal, with the intent of keeping the Darkness forever sealed away. God gave it directly to Lucifer and he, in turn, passed it to Cain, who used it to power the First Blade. Question 6

What demon possessed Sam in season 2?

Sam possessed by Meg Supernatural

Sam and Dean didn't get those matching tattoos so they could be twinsies. They got the ink after Sam was possessed by this demon, who killed another hunter with his own hands. Possessing Sam definitely gave the demon the upper hand and almost led to Sam's death and Jo’s. It didn't just possess Sam, but also bound itself to him, making separating the two almost impossible. Without some quick thinking on Bobby’s part, the demon’s evil plot would've been successful.

It was an unavoidable move, really, considering the Winchesters are Public Enemy No. 1 as far as demons are concerned. Anything can happen to a charm, but tattoos are forever.

Jessica from Supernatural

When Dean showed up in the pilot, he was unwelcome, to say the least. Sam had an amazing girlfriend and a promising career ahead of him. He wanted nothing more than to leave hunting behind for good. In typical Supernatural fashion, the history of this ride isn't exactly what you'd expect. John didn't choose the car. Dean did when he traveled back in time to 1973.

That's how John Winchester found himself with 3 sons, though Sam and Dean weren't too impressed that he wasn't a hunter.
