2016's Captain America: Civil War is one of the most successful and brilliant comic book movies of all time. It epitomises the boom in the genre in the past few years and brought together a plethora of iconic characters from the pages of Marvel's comics - all of whom were played by top actors.

The movie saw two teams of superheroes - one led by Captain America, the other led by Iron Man - fighting against each other, thanks to their opposing views on the issue of superhuman registration and regulation.

It grossed $1.15 billion worldwide, making it the highest-grossing movie of 2016 and placing it above some very tough competition in the form of the likes of Rogue One, Finding Dory and Zootopia in the rankings, as well as fellow comic book movies Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Deadpool, Suicide Squad, Doctor Strange and X-Men: Apocalypse.
