Rate These Harry Potter Characters And We'll Sort You Into A Hogwarts House!

The world of Harry Potter is a magical one, with books that transport readers into a new world, movies that bring these amazing stories to life and characters that remind us to be brave, caring, smart and magical (with or without the use of a wand).
And as soon as fans starting reading the books or watching the movies, they had their favorite characters - ones they were drawn to a bit more than the others, due to personalities, quotes, traits and looks.
For this quiz, though, it doesn’t matter who your favorite is. You can be a fan of the classics (Harry, Ron and/or Hermione), or you may be someone who enjoys a secondary character (such as Neville Longbottom, Sirius Black, Sybill Trelawney or even Colin Creevey). Either way, you are going to rate different characters from the Harry Potter franchise. You are going to tell us who you love, who you hate and who you are indifferent towards, and we are going to take that info and do something super magical.
That is right, folks...At the end of this quiz, you will know for sure which Hogwarts House you belong in!
Harry Potter
We, of course, have to start with this guy. He is the star of it all, but we suppose there are some people who are not a fan of him. Just remember that with ol’ HP, we would not have these wonderful books/movies (or they would just be really different!). So what are your thoughts on this character?
Nymphadora Tonks
What about Tonks? She can change her face and her hair, and her and her man, Lupin, died while fighting for good. In our opinion, she did not get enough screen time, and her spunky and funky personality was not seen enough...and then it was too late. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Bellatrix Lestrange
Let’s switch on over to the dark side. Helena Bonham Carter did an outstanding job making fans hate her, and Bellatrix’s dramatic and dark clothing items and hairstyle are both iconic. Many were happy to see her go out like she did, though. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Sybill Trelawney
Since the majority of this story took place at a school, fans were introduced to several magical teachers, like Professor Trelawney, with her big glasses, crystal ball, tea leaves and flowing outfits. Plus, her divination played a pretty big role in the Prisoner of Azkaban. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Ron Weasley
For number five, we are giving you Ronald Weasley himself! He could be a bit timid and awkward, but he was Harry’s best friend, and he proved that he was brave, loyal and strong time after time...and won his dream girl, too! So what are your thoughts on this character?
Vincent Crabbe
On the other hand, there were “bad” best friends, too, like Crabbe, who was also loyal to his best friend, Draco. Him and Goyle were sort of presented as bumbling oafs who just followed Draco around and served as bodyguards and sounding boards. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Myrtle Warren
Better known as Moaning Myrtle, this past Hogwarts student still hangs around the school - but in her ghost form. She can be a bit annoying and definitely flirty, but she was actually pretty helpful during some intense situations in the books and movies. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Hermione Granger
Alright, we can’t wait any longer...Hermione was brilliant, and everyone in class (and in the wizarding world!) knew it. She would have done anything to help out her loved ones, and she, too, walked away with a pretty great ending, as she married Ron and had some talented children. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Cedric Diggory
We can’t and won’t talk about Cedric’s death, but we will always remember him as being the cool guy at school: He was smart, athletic, attractive, kind...The boy who everyone wanted to be friends with and date and be like. But what about you? What are your thoughts on this character?
Neville Longbottom
Another character who really transformed (both within the series and in real life) was Neville. Who would have guessed that he would have had such a major role, standing up to He Who Shall Not Be Named and proving to be a brave, daring, thoughtful individual? What are your thoughts on this character?
Draco Malfoy
Speaking of Draco...He served as an antagonist, as he and Harry seemed to always be on opposing sides. However, he was just a normal kid like the rest of the bunch, and many actually ended up liking him and enjoyed seeing him and Harry having mutual respect for each other. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Cho Chang
Cho was in many parts during the Goblet of Fire, since Harry developed a crush on her, yet Cedric Diggory was the one who ended up taking her to the Yule Ball and saving her from under the lake during the Triwizard Tournament. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Albus Dumbledore
Everyone knows Dumbledore, and everyone - even people who aren’t super fans of this story and even people who were on Voldemort’s side within the story - respected him. He led the school with dignity, grace, wisdom and goodness, all the way until the end. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Minerva McGonagall
As mentioned, we were introduced to several of Harry Potter’s teachers, but Professor McGonagall was special. She knew Harry when he was a baby and even knew his parents. She was the Head of Gryffindor, so she was around Harry and his friends even more. And she was a decent, caring, loving woman, too. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Luna Lovegood
While Harry, Ron and Hermione were usually in the spotlight, people like Luna were also there, as friends, as fellow warriors and as characters that some fans absolutely fell in love with. Luna’s quirkiness definitely stood out in the films and within the books! So what are your thoughts on this character?
Pomona Sprout
Professor Sprout was the Head of Hufflepuff House and the Head of the Herbology department at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This makes sense, since when she attended Hogwarts back in the day, she was a Hufflepuff House who stood out in herbology. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Dolores Umbridge
When Umbridge came to Hogwarts, she did some not-so-nice things, like implement harsh rules and make people suffer from even harsher punishments when said rules were broken. In the end, though, she was thrown out into the Forbidden Forest, which made many fans super happy. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Remus Lupin
Lupin taught Defense Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts, but before that, he was one of James Potter’s best friends. In fact, those two, along with Peter Pettigrew and Sirius Black, had a secret club of sorts, through which Lupin got the nickname Moony, since he turned into a werewolf during full moons. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Padma Patil
Padma, a twin to Parvati Patil, was a Ravenclaw, a prefect and a member of Dumbledore's Army. Most notably, though, she went with Ron Weasley to the Yule Ball during the Triwizard Tournament in the Goblet of Fire, which she ended up regretting. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Newton Scamander
Newt, of course, wrote Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them after gaining an interest in magical creatures via his mother, who bred hippogriffs. He also attended Hogwarts, was a Hufflepuff, joined the Ministry of Magic and retired by the beginning of the 1990s. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Horace Slughorn
Professor Slughorn went to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, too, and he returned there later to serve as the Potions Master and as Head of Slytherin House. He actually left, though, due to a fear that Albus Dumbledore would discover that he had told Tom Riddle about Horcruxes. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Pansy Parkinson
Pansy was a student at Hogwarts, a Slytherin, a prefect...However, her most notable moment was when she spoke up in favor of turning Harry Potter over to Lord Voldemort. Many of her peers drew their wands, all showing support to Harry and not to her. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Gilderoy Lockhart
Lockhart came in on a strong note, as everyone (especially the mothers of Hogwarts’ students) was won over by his charm. He actually ended up being pretty fake, though, and he wasn’t as confident or as in control as he let on to be. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Sirius Black
When Sirius was introduced, his face was plastered all over “Wanted” posters. But remember - He was one of James Potter’s best friends. He was Harry’s godfather. And he was really a kind, cool and caring dude, as well as a cool dog, too! So what are your thoughts on this character?
Penelope Clearwater
Penny was a Ravenclaw student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and she dated Percy Weasley, which is pretty notable. Also, her name was used by Hermione, as a cover, when Hermione, Harry and Ron were looking for Horcruxes and in a dangerous situation. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Helena Ravenclaw
The Grey Lady was Rowena Ravenclaw's daughter. She is the one who stole her mother's diadem, who ran away to Albania and who was murdered by the Bloody Baron. She and the Baron were both ghosts at Hogwarts, and Helena is known best as the Ghost of Ravenclaw House. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Filius Flitwick
Professor Flitwick was part-goblin, part-wizard. He was intelligent and even came back to Hogwarts to share and spread that knowledge, as the Charms Master and as the Head of Ravenclaw House. He helped fight against Voldemort, protecting students and defeating many Death Eaters. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Albus Severus Potter
Albus was the second son of Harry’s and Ginny’s. He was named after Albus Dumbledore and Severus Snape, and Neville Longbottom was his godfather. He started to Hogwarts in 2017, when and where he became friends with Scorpius Malfoy, who was Draco’s son. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Rubeus Hagrid
One of the most well-known staff members at Hogwarts was Hagrid. He started as the groundskeeper and became the Care of Magical Creatures professor. Mostly, though, he was a friend to Harry and his friends...more like family, really, as he helped keep Harry safe and cared for, even when he wasn’t at Hogwarts. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Severus Snape
We are going to end with Snape, because he is sometimes hard for people to rate. At first, we think he is out to get Harry, but then we hear his tragic backstory. We know that he is actually protecting Harry and that he will always love Lily, which he did, even during his last moments. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Teddy Lupin
Edward Remus Lupin was the only child of the late Remus and Tonks. He was a Metamorphmagus, like his mother, and Harry Potter was his godfather. He started attending Hogwarts in 2009, and he even became Head Boy, which we would have loved to see. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Justin Finch-Fletchley
Justin was a Muggle-born wizard. He went to Hogwarts. He was a Hufflepuff. He was a member of Dumbledore's Army. And a fun fact is that he was also really good friends with two others on this list - Ernie Macmillan and Hannah Abbott! So what are your thoughts on this character?
Hannah Abbott
Like many on this list, Hannah went to Hogwarts, was a Hufflepuff, was a prefect and was a member of Dumbledore's Army. Many may forget that her future was super cool, though. Why? She married her classmate, Neville Longbottom, and became the landlady of the Leaky Cauldron! So what are your thoughts on this character?
Fat Friar
Okay, you are almost done, but first, rate this guy! He was a wizard, he went to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he was a Hufflepuff, and he came back as a ghost. And just look at him: Doesn’t he look jolly? He was! He was also forgiving and devoted to his religion. So what are your thoughts on this character?
Ernie Macmillan
Ernie was the main student who thought Harry Potter was the Heir of Slytherin, and he also thought Harry cheated and put his own name in the Goblet of Fire. Later on, though, he joined Dumbledore's Army, so let that guide you when answering this question: What are your thoughts on this character?
