We all know the above opening phrase which Richard Weber narrates to the new interns in Season One, Episode One of Grey's Anatomy. It is a very powerful message and it resonates within every episode and season of the show. At the beginning, Meredith Grey explains that she's screwed... There is no denying that she is right. The entire show is gut wrenching, but we love it anyway! You may often find yourself wondering what it would be like to be an intern at Seattle Grace Hospital. The Intern Exam is a very important part of becoming a doctor. It doesn't help if you can pass the practicals but none of the theory. You need to be great in both of these aspects in order to succeed. George and Alex both had to retake exams too.

Medicine has many different specialties to suit every taste. You can consider neurosurgery, pediatrics, urology, cardiology or even plastic surgery! Each of these has their own advantages and disadvantages, we guess it just depends what you prefer.

Meredith was just a girl in a bar, and Derek was just a guy in a bar. They had no idea that the very next day, they'd be working together as Attending and Intern. They had no idea that they would be working together, let alone fall deeply in love and have cute little babies together!

Scut work is most often the tedious tasks that are done in the ER. These are things like anal exams or sutures. No one likes to sit around doing these all day. Some of these doctors even fight one another for patients when a cool case comes through the door!

Seattle Grace Hospital changed names and hands a few times over the last few years. With the new names came new expectations and standards. There was also a merger where two hospitals basically became one. Each hospital had its own vibe as well.

The interns share a locker room and they all have to try and get along. There isn't much space in there, so it's best to just come to terms with the fact that you may step on one another's toes. If you were forced to share your locker with another intern, who would it be?

Hospitals come in all shapes and sizes. There are some really big hospitals, and then there are some smaller ones. Some of them don't have ERs while others do. In your opinion, how many hospital beds does your ideal hospital have? There is no correct or incorrect answer.

In Grey's Anatomy, the 2-Challenge Rule is is basically where two or more surgeons can challenge a treatment decision which is being done by another surgeon. If a second surgeon challenges you, then you need to stop what you are doing. Would you ever do this?
