Grease is a film based off of the 1971 musical of the same name. This film has iconic roles for certain well known performers such as Olivia Newton John as Sandy and John Travolta as Danny. One thing that these two actors have in common is their incredible musical talent as well as acting talents. This film is praised for both the story line as well as the hit musical numbers. During the year that the film was released, 1978, the soundtrack finished as the second highest selling album of the year overall. This musical has led to many spin off and variations over the years. After the success of this film, there were numerous films expected to come. However, after Grease 2 did not do nearly as well as expected, the other movies were scrapped. It turns out the original story has something to it that can just not be beat.
