Go On A Rick And Morty Adventure To Get A Parallel Universe Double

Though it debuted way back in December of 2013, Rick and Morty has only turned out three seasons and 31 episodes to date. While this may be far less than what we’ve come to expect for a series that debuted nearly five years ago, that hasn’t stopped Rick and Morty from being one of the most talked about shows in recent memory.

The Adult Swim series follows the mad scientist Rick, who ends up dragging his grandson Morty (along with the rest of the Smith family) on a number of dark and off-beat adventures. And it’s exactly this sense of adventure — coupled with the show's bizarre brand of humor — that has attracted many to the adult cartoon.

While the show was picked up for another 70 episodes earlier this year, one of the series writers has stated that they don't expect the next batch to be out until late 2019 at the earliest. Which is still over a year away!

That gives us plenty of time to watch and rewatch the entire series again, and thankfully the show is packed with a number of clever inside jokes and scientific theories to keep us endlessly entertained.

So let’s plan our own Rick and Morty adventure and reveal which character we'd be in a parallel universe.

Question 1

It’s the middle of the night and Rick wants to go on adventure. Join him or keep sleeping?

This is how the entire series began, with Rick waking up Morty in an inebriated stupor in the middle of the night to go on an adventure. While this might sound like fun within the confines of a cartoon, are you really the type of person who welcomes being woken up during a deep sleep?

Question 2

The family dog keeps going the bathroom on the rug. Potty train him or ask Rick to make him smarter?

Jerry is not the type of person who welcomes inconvenience. In fact, he seems like he wants to do nothing more than kick back on the couch alongside a family that loves him. But it’s precisely his lack of commitment that gets him into hot water on a number of occasions, from everyone to his wife and the family dog.

Question 3

Rick asks for helping smuggling the Mega Seeds through Interdimensional Customs. Help him or boldly refuse?

Morty’s health and well being have been put on the line more times than we can count thanks to Rick. Even in the first episode of the series, Rick coheres Morty into helping him smuggle the Mega Seeds through Interdimensional Customs when their portal gun is out of juice. Would you have done the same?

Question 4

Pick a snack to pack for the next adventure adventure.

Do you got a hankering for the 1998 McDonald’s Szechuan sauce just as bad as Rick does? Or would you much more prefer one of these make-believe food items that appear in the series. For instance, Mega Seeds might not sound all that appetizing, but they do give you boosted intelligence which might come in handy during your next adventure.

Question 5

Rick needs someone to travel inside Ruben on a rescue mission. Agree to be shrunken down or only offer to help from the outside?

Morty often gets involved in his grandfather’s master plans before he even has a choice to decide. We later learn this is because Morty isn’t exactly the sharpest tool in the box. So would you have also let Rick shrink you down and inject you into the body of a homeless man without putting up a fight?

Question 6

Favorite member of the Smith family?

As much as you may love, he’s not actually a member of the Smith family since he’s the father of Beth. But in general, the show focuses on the Smith family and the horrors they experience at the hands of their crazy, mad scientist grandfather. So who’s your favorite member?

Question 7

Pick a task for Mr. Meeseeks to help with.

As Rick warns the Smith family, Meeseeks are meant to only accomplish simple tasks. But when Beth and Summer get their hands on the box, they ask their Mr. Meeseekses to help with rather abstract goals. Then again, its Jerry — who asks a rather simple task — who’s plan ends up backfiring in the end.

Question 8

Favorite version of Rick?

As if Rick wasn’t already cool enough, the series has given us a number of incarnations of the character — who range from a lot more kind-hearted to downright sinister. So do you still favor the original Rick over all the others, or have you taken a liking to one of the new addition?

Question 9

Pick an adventure destination.

There’s been no shortage of adventures on Rick and Morty. Some of them seem like they’d be a blast. Other’s not so much. So which one of these four adventure destinations would make it onto your bucket list? Does Anatomy Park sound intriguing or just downright disgusting? Maybe the Citadel of Ricks would be more your style?

Question 10

Pick something to watch on interdimensional cable.

It’s not every day where you get to watch a TV show where the characters are also watching TV. This might sound boring, but that’s only because other shows don’t have interdimensional cable! So out of these four off-beat commercial and shows, which one do you remember enjoying the most?

Question 11

Favorite duo?

Almost every Rick and Morty episode follows two storylines that are happening simultaneously. More often than not, Rick and Morty are part of the main storyline, while Jerry, Beth, and Summer fill out the secondary one. But those duos and trios have been swapped out on a number of occasions. So which combo is your favorite?

Question 12

Beth thinks its time for some family therapy. Pick a response.

After all their adventures and misadventures, Beth ultimately decides that its time for some family therapy. While Morty and Summer get roped into going, Rick dodges the occasion by turning himself into a pickle; it seems he’ll do anything to avoid dealing with his emotions. So what would you do?

Question 13

Favorite episode to date?

When people talk about the best Rick and Morty episodes, Pickle Rick probably gets brought up more than most. But the show wouldn’t be such a smash hit with only one great episode. So which one of these memorable and often-quoted episodes of the show do you remember enjoying the most?

Question 14

Rick offers to concoct a love potion. Pick a response.

Even if you haven’t seen this particular episode of Rick and Morty, anyone who’s watched their fair share of TV should know that a love potion always backfires. Even still, Morty is so desperate to make Jessica his girlfriend that he uses the concoction with little question, which almost results in the end of the world.

Question 15

Rick is about to be destroyed by the female Gazorpazorps. Pick a response.

While Rick and Morty may be the main characters of the series, the show has certainly demonstrated time and time again that the female characters are the ones who have the most sense. So should Summer still have stepped up and saved her grandfather when the Gazorpazorps wanted to destroy him?

Question 16

Favorite side character?

There’s no shortage of interesting side characters in Rick and Morty. While a few of these characters have popped up in more than one episode, the show does a great job of never letting a supporting character never outstay their welcome. So which one of these off-beat characters would you like to see more of?

Question 17

The Cromulons demands a performance to save Earth. Pick a song.

The Cromulons are a race of planets who appear as sentient heads. They arrive on Earth and demand that the humans demonstrate their talents for their reality show. But if the humans fail to impress, the planet will be destroyed. So with the fate of the human race hanging in the balance, which song would you perform?

Question 18

Rather watch Interdimensional Cable or use a pair of Interdimensional Goggles?

In this particular episode, Rick and Morty resign themselves to watching interdimensional Cable, while Beth, Jerry, and Summer opt to use the goggles instead. And it quickly becomes clear that looking into what other versions of yourself are doing can be extremely damaging to one's psyche. But would you still be curious?

Question 19

Pick a vacation destination.

Sometimes, adventures can become more than a little draining. But that doesn’t mean you have to stop traveling in order to relax. On a number of occasions, Rick and the Smith family try to unwind while exploring these unusual vacation destinations. But their relaxation doesn't always go according to plan.

Question 20

Pick a catchphrase.

Rick’s catchphrase may forever be remembered as “Wubba lubba dub dub!” But in reality, the character hasn’t actually uttered the phrase more than a handful of times — which mostly occur in the first season. In fact, the series is unique in that it’s constantly trying to subvert sitcom and cartoon norms, which is no doubt why it’s so popular.

Question 21

A demon has moved into town to set up shop. Pick a response.

In this episode of Rick and Morty, the writers were clearly parodying Stephen King’s classic horror novel Needful Things. But Rick is no slouch when it comes to decoding story tropes, and he quickly figures out this demon’s game within a matter of moments. Meanwhile, Summer is just happy to align herself with someone so powerful.

Question 22

Rick has transported his consciousness into a smaller body. Pick a response.

If we’ve learned anything from watching Rick and Morty, it’s that Rick may indeed be brilliant, but his ideas are rarely healthy. Therefore, when the mad scientist transports himself into a miniature body of himself, Morty and Summer should have realized sooner that the plan was going to backfire. But instead, they just enjoyed the company of Tiny Rick.

Question 23

Favorite version of Morty?

When we first meet Morty, he’s the character who the audience probably identifies with the most. After all, he’s not a science genius like his grandfather, and he’s often way in over his head just as many of the viewers would be during Rick’s adventures. But we’ve since seen Mortys of all personality types.

Question 24

Least favorite episode to date?

We’re not saying that these episodes of the show are bad, just that they might not be as memorable or original as some of the others. So if you were going to go rewatch the entire first three seasons right now, which episode would you miss the least if you had to skip a few?

Question 25

Pick an attraction at Anatomy Park to visit.

Rick just may have been on to something when he created Anatomy Park. After all, people go to museums all the time to learn about science — and some of these exhibits can be rather dry, to say the least. But just like Jurassic Park, the attractions at Anatomy Park aren’t always the safest.

Question 26

An alien parasite has invaded the house. Pick a response.

In Total Rickall, an alien parasite invades the Smith household and quickly begins to multiple. Before the even know it, the family is accepting the parasite with open arms — as it has the ability to implant memories into their hosts’ brains. So how would you eliminate the parasite without eliminating your family in the process?

Question 27

Morty needs help on his science project. Offer a recommendation.

Rick may be the science whiz, but he simply isn’t willing to waste his time on school work — even if it is for science class. Jerry, on the other hand, seems to have nothing but time on his hands, and he wants nothing more than to bond with his son. Unfortunately, he doesn’t usually make the best suggestions.

Question 28

Least favorite duo?

We hate to break it to you, but if Rick and Morty are your least favorite duo on the series, then you might want to stop watching the show altogether. But that doesn’t mean that you might prefer some character pairings less than others. So would you rather watch a Rick and Summer adventure more than a Morty and Summer one?

Question 29

It’s the night of the annual Flu Season Dance. Ask out Jessica or find someone in the same league?

There’s no question that Jessica is out of Morty’s league. She’s older, more attractive, and a lot more popular — which means all too much in the world of high school. But that doesn’t stop Morty from pursuing her nonetheless. But if you were in Morty’s shoes, would you do the same or try to move on?

Question 30

Rather attend school or go on a possible life-threatening adventure?

The answer here may seem simple, but really take a moment to consider all that Rick has put Morty through. It may be amusing, but if it were you in Morty’s shoes you might have a different outlook on things. So all things considered, might it just be better to stay in school than to emotional scar yourself forever?
