The various generations of wrestling fans all have different perspectives on what makes a great show. Each period in the wrestling industry featured different forms of entertainment in terms of the matches and storytelling. Wrestling started to grow to the mainstream level during the Golden Era of WWE. Vince McMahon took a chance on his vision and it worked to help the business move forward. The Attitude Era is remembered as the most controversial one in the late 90s. WWE pushed the envelope with their product and had to deal with WCW as major competition during the Monday Night Wars.
Change came to the wrestling industry in the new millennium when WWE started the Ruthless Aggression following the end of the Monday Night Wars. WCW dying ended any competition allowing WWE to experiment with the brand split and make new stars along the way. The recent near-decade in wrestling has been considered the PG Era with WWE changing their television rating and attempting to bring in the families.
