Amy Sherman Paladino's hit show, Gilmore Girls, portrays differing friendships between complex characters. While watching the show, you may wonder at times, "are these two people really compatible, or do they just put up with each other?" like Paris Geller and Rory Gilmore, for example.

Christopher is caring and supportive. While he may sometimes be flakey, he genuinely wants to be an active presence in the lives of people he loves. You may dislike his indecisiveness.
Miss Patty
Miss Patty is always up for a good time! She is the friend that will drag you out of your house after a break up and get you smiling. You may find her love for fun at times exhausting or superficial, but she is a genuinely caring person who just so happens to love harmless gossip.
Max Medina
Max Medina, Rorys teacher and Lorelai's ex-fiancee, can be very serious at times, but also loves to make sly jokes. He is supportive and decisive. He knows what he wants, and if you do not, he may not enjoying sticking around.
Jackson Belleville
Jackson Belleville is passionate about his job in farming and loves going to work everyday. He is loyal to his friends and his family, even if he is annoyed or upset. He is very sensitive and has a tendency to overthink situations.

Dave Rygalski, Lane's first love, is a great guy. He is respectful and soft spoken. When he likes you, he will make sure not to upset you. He is extremely easy to like- even the harshest people will like him, but his easygoing behaviour may bore you.
Tristan DuGrey
Although Tristan DuGrey only appeared in the first two seasons of Gilmore Girls, he may have made an impression on you. Tristan loves attention and getting what he wants. He is persistent and and does not normally take no for an answer, which may impress you, or truly repel you.
Doyle McMaster
Doyl McMaster, the editor of the Yale newspaper and Paris Gellers boyfriend is a really smart guy. Hes great at his job, but also is a tough boss. He may rub you the wrong way if you do not like being told off or cannot handle eccentricity.
Lorelai "Trix" Gilmore
Trix Gilmore is Richard's mother, and Lorelai's grandmother. She may be hard to love as she is a bit stuffy and judgemental. She is very close to her son and does not like when people get in the way of their relationship.
Gypsy
Gypsy is the mechanic in Stars Hollow. She loves hanging out with Miss Patty and Babette. Shes tough and well tell it to you exactly how it is- but there is a very caring and helpful side to her. She will protect those she loves and make sure no one gets the better of them.
Zach Van Gerbig
Zach, Lanes bandmate and eventual husband, is probably hard to dislike because he is generally very agreeable. It may be hard to talk to him unless you share his interests, but if you do, you might find yourself with a good friend.
Babette Dell
Babette Dell, Lorelai and Rorys neighbour is fun, quirky and reliable. She is always around when the Gilmores need anything, and brings a maternal, comforting feeling to any tough situation. Her quirkiness may bother you, or you may find it exciting.
Louise Grant
Louise Grant is one of Paris Geller's friends at Chilton. Louise is extremely fun loving, and a bit boy crazy. She appreciates good looks and getting into a bit of trouble. She has some strong opinions, but generally enjoys following the lead if need be.
Madeline Lynn
Madeline Lynn is another Chilton girl who is friends with Paris and Rory. Like Louise, she enjoys having fun and loves attention, but will not upstage her friends. She may seem a bit frivolous, but is overall a good friend who will not do anything to hurt you.
Sherry Tinsdale
Sherry Tinsdale is Christopher's longterm girlfriend and the woman with whom he has another child. Sherry is perseverant and says whats on her mind. She's not afraid to ask for things, even if it may make her seem weird or pushy to others. She is also very independent.
Mitchum Huntzberger
Mitchum Huntzberger, Logan Huntzberger's father, is a cutthroat businessman. He is often too busy to care about pleasing others, but if he respects you, he will give you the time of day. He wants to be surrounded by motivated and successful people.
