Fact: No One Person Can Ace This Dwight Schrute Quiz.

3.9K Shares

Everyone working the traditional 9 to 5 probably knows someone just like him. Well, not exactly, because the whole point is there’s no one else who would act as bizarre as he does. However, we all know the cliché office weirdo, that one person working for an organization who creeps his coworkers out more so than gets along with them. Common though this trope is, few of the real world examples come anywhere near Dwight Kurt Schrute, right-hand man to Michael Scott (in his own mind) and the top paper salesman working for Dunder Mifflin.

For all his eccentricities, Dwight really isn’t that bad a guy. Knowingly or not, Dwight was often the funniest character on The Office, largely due to the extremely peculiar details about his family life and upbringing, turning him into the very strange man annoying Michael, Jim, Pam, and the rest on a daily basis. Of course, not everyone in the office hates Dwight all the time, and some even come to love the little whack job in one way or another.

Does Dwight reciprocate that love? Pfft, no way! That’d be a sign of weakness, and that’s the one quality Dwight believes he doesn’t have. Anyone who read the guy’s three resumes should be aware of that fact, as well as various minutiae about his life he decided necessary to share. Question: can you pass this test on Dwight K. Schrute trivia?

Question 1

What type of vegetable does Dwight farm?

In addition to his exemplary career at Dunder Mifflin, Dwight Schrute has been involved in a secondary profession pretty much since his birth. Far away from the hustle and bustle of an office, Dwight lives on a gigantic farm, which his family appears to have owned for centuries. Not only that, but the farm is often rented out for parties, events, and as a bed and breakfast, all for a reasonable price. Most of the time, though, Dwight spends his time on Schrute Farms growing his favorite vegetable, one he finds infinitely adaptable.

Question 2

Which work title does Dwight invent for himself?

Officially speaking, Dwight’s title throughout most of The Office is very simple: salesman. Granted, he’s a darn good salesman, bringing in record numbers again and again, but the fact remains, he’s just a salesman. It’s Dwight’s dream to one day have his mentor Michael Scott’s job, and until that day comes, he kind of invented a new position for himself to boost his own credentials. Of course, everyone in the office knows it’s a lie, with Jim in particular making sure to point out his real title every time Dwight says it.

Question 3

What is Dwight’s strange Amish cousin’s name?

For as weird as Dwight seems, it would turn out he’s remarkably normal in comparison to some of his stranger family members. Although Dwight’s brother and sister are relatively normal, his aunts, uncles, and cousins are all strict adherents to an old school traditional type of living free of the frills and thrills of modern day life. There’s no real explanation for why this is, aside from the fact they have distantly Amish origins. That said, no religious inclination explains the way Dwight’s cousin talks, rarely able to form a sentence with more than three or four words.

Question 4

Who does Dwight dress up as during the first office Halloween?

The costumes people wear on Halloween generally go one of two ways. Either they’re a random mesh of whatever was popular that year and whatever a person had available, or they speak to the wearer’s most powerful interests and desires. In Dwight’s case, this usually meant dressing up as some sort of super villain or outright monster, allowing him to terrorize his coworkers in a more literal fashion than usual. Dwight was arguably at his most manipulative the first time around, begging Michael to make the decision when someone needed to get fired due to downsizing.

Question 5

With which of Dwight’s coworkers does he engage in a years long affair?

Given all his quirks and eccentricities, it may be a surprise that Dwight Schrute is almost something of a ladies man, at least in comparison to his coworkers. Part of the issue is Dwight’s attempts at maintaining dominance and order, a quality certain women around him seem to find attractive. Most infatuated of all is one of Dwight’s coworkers, a quiet, traditional ultra-religious accountant who he dates on and off for the better part of the show’s run. This should be a pretty easy one, especially since they get married in the series finale.

Question 6

What does Dwight claim is his middle name when he suffers from a concussion?

Ever the professional, Dwight is often quick to reveal his middle initial K when introducing himself to a client, or even a potential friend. However, when Michael burns his foot on a George Foreman grill, Dwight springs into action so fast he rams his car into a steel pole, causing a severe concussion. In this mentally weakened state, Dwight can’t remember his own name, leading to trouble when Michael can’t fill out his hospital admission form. Luckily, Jim is there and knows the real answer, because Dwight’s suggestion is obviously wrong.

Question 7

What does Angela give Dwight for Valentine’s Day?

Valentine’s Day is as much a celebration for quiet love affairs as it is one for relationships that are out in the open, meaning Dwight and Angela exchanged gifts every year when that time rolled around. The couple’s first Valentine’s was probably their sweetest, with Angela secretly bestowing Dwight with a deeply personal albeit novelty gift that would gradually turn into one of his trademarks. Recognizing the item’s popularity, The Office producers actually created a real life version that sold out within minutes.

Question 8

Who once kissed Dwight at a Christmas party?

Believe it or not, Angela isn’t the only action Dwight gets throughout the course of The Office. In fact, she’s not the only woman in the actual Dunder Mifflin office to ever express interest in the guy. Early on in the show’s run, there were also hints that another coworker might have had a crush on Dwight. The biggest hint came when this usually forthright woman made the first move, planting a huge kiss on Dwight during the first Christmas party. Unfortunately for her, Dwight was more shocked than appreciative, causing her to claim drunkenness and the plot line to fade away.

Question 9

Which dictator does Dwight unknowingly steal from in his infamous speech?

It’s not small feat that Dwight became the best salesman in Dunder Mifflin. The company is far bigger than the Scranton branch alone, meaning he not only outranked Jim, Phyllis, and Stanley, but the entire company. Through his efforts, Dwight likely sold millions of pieces of paper, something any company would wish all of its employees could accomplish. Offering a platform for Dwight to share his secrets, the company holds a sales retreat with Dwight as the star speaker. Unfortunately, he’s not that confident at public speaking and needs Jim’s help, leading to one of his classic pranks.

Question 10

What drug does Dwight find on Dunder-Mifflin’s premises?

Calling Dwight Schrute a paper salesman, farmer, and martial arts expert still doesn’t quite paint the whole picture of his many hats, as Dunder Mifflin’s Assistant (to the) Regional Manager as also a volunteer sheriff’s deputy for Lackawanna County until a certain incident involving discarded drugs found on company property. Ironically, it was Dwight would found the drugs and reported them to the police, leading to company mandated drug testing that Dwight helped Michael cheat on. Feeling he broke his oath, Dwight returned his (honorary) badge.

Question 11

What word did Jim make Dwight’s name auto-correct to after hacking his computer?

Always standing in the way of Dwight’s mission to perform his job to perfection is his coworker/rival, Jim Halpert. In one respect, Jim is as good a salesman as Dwight, or at least he has the potential to be if he could only focus on his job once in a while. Unfortunately, Jim finds his career way too boring to actually think about, preferring to torture and mock Dwight at every change he gets instead. One of his greatest pranks was hacking Dwight’s computer and inserting a macro that made it impossible for the man to type his own name.

Question 12

Which of Michael’s errands does Dwight start doing for him after attempting a coup?

Let’s face it. Despite the fact that it often feels like Dwight Schrute outright worships his boss Michael Scott, no employee as concerned with success could fail to notice the man in charge of Dunder Mifflin Scranton is completely incompetent. His girlfriend Angela knows it, too, suggesting Dwight go over Michael’s head and talk to Jan Levinson, Vice President of Northeast Sales and someone who could do something about the problem. Unfortunately, Jan sees Dwight’s subordination as the bigger problem and tells Michael about it, leading to some harsh punishment.

Question 13

What science fiction series is Dwight a massive fan of?

Dwight Schrute may live on a farm and respectfully adhere to some of his familial Amish traditions, yet he’s also a modern man in certain respects. Notwithstanding his background, Dwight is a huge fan of certain movies and TV shows, his preferred genre appearing to be science fiction taking place in dystopian futures. High on the list of Dwight’s favorites is one long running series known for its highly devoted fans, who got the show back on the air again and again despite networks trying to cancel it.

Question 14

What advice does Michael repeatedly give Dwight, hurting his feelings every time?

In Michael Scott’s own mind, his protégé is probably Ryan Howard, but Dwight’s the one who really listens to their boss and constantly takes his advice to heart. In a manner of speaking, the Ryan connection almost works, in that the youngest salesman at Dunder Mifflin did once go on a bizarre initiation ceremony with Dwight, where second hand advice was offered in addition to bizarre rituals. Included amongst those tools of the trade was a popular phrase Dwight apparently believes Michael invented, helping him out and hurting his feelings all at once.

Question 15

Where does Dwight work during his brief absence from Dunder Mifflin?

Even a fool like Michael Scott knows that the second time around, it’s shame on him for letting the wool get pulled over his eyes. This is why Dwight Schrute’s second betrayal nearly becomes his last, as Michael momentarily fires him from Dunder Mifflin, destroying everything Dwight had been building towards. There was a light at the end of the tunnel, though, in that Dwight’s exemplary record selling paper made it easy for him to get a job at a nearby office supply store.

Question 16

What weapon does Dwight use to stop Roy’s attack on Jim?

Although Dwight technically retired from his post as a Lackawanna country volunteer sheriff, he still regularly took it upon himself to protect his fellow coworkers when the situation called for it. This includes being a bit too forward with females at Dunder Mifflin when they look like they’re in trouble, but it also once saved Jim’s life (or at least prevented a severe ass whooping). Seeing Pam’s ex Roy make the attack after hearing she kissed Jim, Dwight immediately jumped into action and took Roy to the ground with a single use of his weapon.

Question 17

Where are the majority of Dwight’s ancestors from?

Most people are proud of their heritage in one way or another, and Dwight Schrute is no different from the norm in this regard. As it would turn out, however, maybe Dwight shouldn’t be so open about his family’s past, especially that one uncle of his who had to flee to Argentina after his side lost an infamous war. In fact, Dwight comes from a long line of war criminals, and it isn’t entirely clear if he ever supported or even understood what his family was fighting for.

Question 18

What word did Dwight get wrong in the final round of his grade school spelling bee?

Much of who Dwight Schrute is today was warped by the experiences he had in early childhood, with his weird Amish family instilling bizarre values that still live on in his heart and soul. There were also plenty of disappointments in Dwight’s life, like an apparent battle with childhood obesity that lead to early onset high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Aside from these medical issues, there was also the issue of public embarrassment, like the time Dwight came within a word of winning a spelling bee only to lose to the worst word possible.

Question 19

Which of Angela’s cats does Dwight kill, briefly ending their relationship?

For every reason Dwight and Angela are bizarrely perfect for one another, there’s a counterpoint that suggests the two may just be too weird together for their own good. The biggest sign there may be trouble in paradise comes when Angela asks Dwight to take care of her sick cat, and the poor animal winds up dead within minutes of their encounter. Living on a farm, Dwight believed a mercy killing was best for the dying creature, sticking it in a freezer and waiting for it to die, much to Angela’s chagrin.

Question 20

What game does Dwight spend hours at the office playing?

Given Dwight’s interests in science fiction and anime, it’s hardly a surprise he would also spend hours at a time lost in the world of his favorite video games. Like many others, when Dwight discovered a computer game that he could play at work, it occupied almost all of his time. Throw in the fact Dwight recently went through a tough breakup with Angela and it could be said the game was even saving his life…or taking it away from him minute by minute, day by day.

Question 21

Who in the office does Dwight feud with over Angela’s affections?

After Dwight kills her cat, Angela is deeply hurt and decides to break up with him, as probably should have been expected. The fact they still work together is hard enough on Dwight, who feels heartbroken over the ordeal, never quite understanding what he did wrong. Making matters worse, a coworker realizes that Angela is available and wastes no time in swooping in. Granted, he never knew about Angela’s relationship with Dwight in the first place, but it probably wouldn’t have stopped him from pursuing her either way.

Question 22

Who does Dwight bring to Michael and Jan’s dinner party?

When Michael Scott invites Jim, Pam, Andy, and Angela to a couples only dinner party, Dwight decides he has to get in on the action immediately. Unfortunately, the pesky “couples only” designation is preventing Dwight from receiving an invitation. Also, Jan appears to hate him, which is probably why she demanded Michael implement the rule in the first place. Little did Jan know just how resourceful Dwight can be, though, as he soon found an old woman from his past willing to fill the role as his date.

Question 23

Which of Ryan’s friends does Dwight believe isn’t human?

In an effort to spend more time with their old friend/new boss, Michael and Dwight once took a disastrous impromptu trip to New York City, where they partied with Ryan all night long. This was a huge surprise given their usual relationship, which typically saw Ryan rebuffing his coworkers turned employees and generally treating them like dirt. This time around, however, Ryan is clearly strung out on drugs presumably procured by his short and somewhat Tolkien looking companion. Recognizing the man’s features as similar to the cast of Lord of the Rings, Dwight is instantly fascinated for all the wrong reasons.

Question 24

What do Dwight and Meredith try putting in Holly’s car when hazing her?

Thanks to his experience with Toby Flenderson, Michael Scott immediately hates any and all things related to the HR department. In fact, this feeling of enmity pretty much extends to the entire office at Dunder Mifflin Scranton, none of whom can put up with the sad sack or misery generally confined to the annex. Because of this, Michael immediately tells Dwight and Meredith to haze Toby’s replacement Holly Flax, almost instantly regretting the decision when he starts falling in love with her at first sight.

Question 25

What type of doll does Dwight buy en masse to flip and make a fortune on Christmas?

Ever the entrepreneur, paper isn’t the only item Dwight tries to sell in his lifetime. On top of his day job, it turns out Dwight is one of the scalpers who researches the hottest toy of the holiday season and buys them en masse, selling them back to the public for a higher price and keeping the profit to himself. One year, he does this with a doll every young girl in Scranton just has to have, including the daughters of both Toby and Darryl.

Question 26

Which rival company do Dwight and Michael go undercover to research for David Wallace?

Always ready to go the extra mile, when Dunder Mifflin CFO David Wallace enlists Michael Scott on a surveillance mission, Dwight Schrute is more than happy to come along. For once, Dwight’s presence might actually help, as it gives them twice the options when infiltrating a small, local owned paper company that has apparently been blocking DM from some pretty decent business. With Michael posing as a potential client and Dwight an “aspiring” salesmen, they get all the information they need to help Wallace crush the competition.

Question 27

Who has a heart attack when Dwight stages a highly misguided fire drill?

There’s such a thing as being over prepared, and Dwight Schrute definitely fits that bill when he attempts to train his office how to act in the event of a fire. The fact he did this some three years after they successfully evacuated the office during an actual fire didn’t seem to stop Dwight from seeing it as necessary to trick his coworkers into believe the real deal was happening again, and that it was too late for them to fall back on the normal means of escape. Terrified at the thought of death, the staff panics, and one person has a heart attack.

Question 28

Who does Dwight hook up with at Jim and Pam’s wedding?

Still broken up with Angela, Dwight decides to use Jim and Pam’s wedding to find a new potential mate, wearing his favorite wolf shirt to let women know he’s available. Surprisingly, the tactic works almost immediately, and on a member of the bridal party no less. Believe it or not, Pam’s friends aren’t so quick to cast aside Dwight as she and her new husband, instead finding his quirks oddly sexy in their own way. Acting the way people sometimes do at weddings, they consummated the relationship the day they met.

Question 29

What incentive system does Dwight propose in attempt to get Jim fired?

Having been pranked by Jim countless times, it was inevitable that Dwight would at one point try firing back. That said, the mastermind behind Schrute Farms tends to aim way bigger than his workplace rival, looking to get Jim fired rather than simply annoying him into an outburst. Rather than settle on a petty trick, Dwight goes all the way to the top, using Jim’s relationship with CFO David Wallace against him by suggesting an incentive program for Dunder Mifflin that intentionally backfires in spectacular fashion.

Question 30

Which classic movie does Dwight try to relive after a bad experience at the Steamtown Mall?

Generally speaking, it’s a good idea to wash up in between work and recreation. Somehow, Dwight Schrute never quite got this lesson, and making matters worse, it wasn’t his office job that he forgot to clean himself after. Covered in dirt and beet juice that looked like blood, Dwight wandered into the Steamtown Mall and promptly got himself kicked out. Because he left out the details, Dwight’s coworkers are quick to suggest he follow the example set by a classic film, getting gussied up and heading back to the mall so he can make a bombastic scene.

Question 31

What fictional title does Dwight create an amusement park to bestow upon himself?

“Hay Place: a place for hay” is the sort of amusement park that only sounds like a fun place to visit to the children of farmers, yet to his credit, Dwight turns the idea into what looks like a fairly lucrative endeavor. If anyone would know how to do that, Dwight’s the guy, as the festival-like extravaganza is largely culled from his youth, including the ceremonial way a day of fun in the hay is supposed to end. Of course, Mose always won when they were kids, and this time around, it’s up to Dwight to change that fact.

Question 32

What do Dwight and Michael play together on Michael’s last day?

Despite many ups and downs between them, it could easily be argued that Dwight Schrute and Michael Scott were best friends. Michael would never admit it of course, and the closest Dwight could come is acknowledging his boss had a huge influence on him as a professional. However, the interactions they share make it evident a deeper friendship has long been present, making the day Michael left Pennsylvania for Colorado a difficult one for his closest friend. To make it a special one, Michael suggests they play one of Dwight’s favorite games before he goes.

Question 33

Why does Jo Bennett decide Dwight can’t be regional manager?

Once Michael Scott leaves the office, the obvious question was who could take his place. First up, Deangelo Vickers tried to fill the gap, only to get horrifically injured in a basketball accident mere days into the job. Next, Sabre CEO Jo Bennet offers Jim the job, only to get turned down. Nowhere else to turn, Jo then asks Dwight, and he readily accepts with a huge smile on his face. Unfortunately, Dwight’s reign is even shorter than Deangelo’s, as he makes a massive faux pas on his first day in charge.

Question 34

What type of side business does Dwight try opening in the office building?

Realizing his profits have been through the roof lately, Dwight takes the advice of Jo Bennett and decides to diversify his assets. Included in this is purchasing the very building in which Dunder Mifflin does business, which has the side effect of allowing him to control his coworkers without having any actual corporate power over them. It also allows Dwight to use some of the empty space scattered throughout his new enterprise, opening up various businesses on unused floors and attempting to squeeze every last dollar he can out of the process.

Question 35

What is the name of Dwight’s first sensei?

On top of Dwight’s incredible skills as a salesman and beet farmer, the man also has considerable training in martial arts, specifically Goju-Ryu karate. Well, that may be a bit of a stretch, as he doesn’t earn his black belt until the very end of the show’s run. Also, he spends the first several years of his climb up the karate ladder practicing mostly against children. Actually, Dwight usually just wipes down the floors when the kids break boards. Not that any of this affects his sense of accomplishment, getting promoted to senpai—basically assistant (to the) sensei.

Question 36

What emergency surgery does Dwight find he needs while on business in Florida?

When Sabre’s new CEO Robert California thinks the company should open up a physical store in Florida and wants the Dunder Mifflin crew involved, Dwight is naturally the first to raise his hand and offer whatever help he can provide. Absolutely nothing can stop Dwight from going the extra mile when it comes to his job, even when his own body starts painfully acting against him. Thinking he can withstand the pain, Dwight continued listening to seminars and attempting to do his work despite his stomach feeling like it was on fire for hours, refusing the medical treatment he desperately needed.

Question 37

Which fictional language does Dwight teach Erin?

Of all the characters on The Office, Dwight and Erin are two people who didn’t get to interact all that much. Dwight likely saw Erin as dull and uninteresting, while Erin simply couldn’t understand what the heck the weird farmer was talking about half the time. However, after nine seasons on the air, half of which involved Erin, it was inevitable they would spend at least a few seasons together. Looking to impress her boyfriend Andy, Erin wanted to learn a new language, and Dwight was quick to step in and teach her one.

Question 38

Who does Angela pretend is the father of her and Dwight’s child?

Pretty much the second Angela announces she’s pregnant, Dwight becomes certain he must be the baby’s father. Their relationship had flared up and cooled off plenty of times since he killed Sprinkles, and there was definitely a chance one of their contracted dalliances resulted in a child. However, by the time that actually happened, Angela had become involved with another man who she went on to marry. That the man was clearly gay and in the closet didn’t seem to bother her, especially since he was a (State) Senator.

Question 39

Who is the traditional farm girl who Dwight dates after Angela?

With Angela distracted by her marriage to Robert Lipton, Dwight was forced to accept their seemingly perfect coupling wasn’t going to last the test of time. Luckily, the old Schrute charm had yet to wear off, and it was almost easy for him to woo an attractive blonde farm maiden after doing business with her father. Though Dwight’s coworkers were worried she was lying about her interest and looking for a deal on farm equipment, she was able to convince Dwight she was the real deal, nearly making him forget about Angela.

Question 40

Who is Dwight’s bestest mensch at his wedding to Angela?

At long last, Dwight and Angela were able to admit their love for one another out in the open. In fact, Dwight loved Angela so loudly the only way he could express himself was through a megaphone. Touched by this move, Angela also admitted her child had been Dwight’s all along, and the only thing left for the happy couple to do was get married. Initially, Dwight selects Jim to be his bestest mensch, but ever the prankster, Jim decides it should be someone older instead.
