Every Friends Fan Should Be Able To Pass This Couples Quiz

According to IMDb, the television show Friends ran from 1996 until 2004 and in those eight years, there were ten seasons and a total of 236 episodes. So many episodes meant so much drama for the hilarious cast of characters: Joey, Chandler, Ross, Monica, Phoebe, and Rachel. We watched as jobs changed, apartments changed, and more often than not, relationships changed. But what else can you expect from six people in their twenties living in the middle of New York City?

There have been plenty of memorable faces to grace the television show, some briefer than others. There was Janice, Chandler's loud and obnoxious ex-girlfriend who just seemed to always be around and able to spout her iconic phrase, "Oh my GOD." There was also all of Ross' ex-wives who, for some reason or another, just couldn't seem to make their marriage to this poor man work out for the best. That's not even mentioning all the men who have come and gone from Monica, Phoebe, and Rachel's lives.

Now, over ten years since the show came to an end, we can all confidently say that everyone ended up with who they should have. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't reflect on all these relationships, as well as all the ones that came before them! We challenge people to take this quiz and see if they really know the couples on Friends!

Question 1

How did Monica know Richard before they began dating?

Richard and Monica were a couple who surprised everyone, including the people closest to them. Not only was there an incredible age difference between them, but the circumstances that brought them together were just a little bit unusual, too. However, these two proved to everyone that love knows no number and maintained a beautiful relationship for awhile. Of course, all good things must eventually come to an end, but for a long time Monica really thought she was going to end up married to Richard. This would have been a little awkward for some people though, considering how she knew him before they actually began dating.

Question 2

How many times has Ross been divorced?

It was a running gag on the show about Ross’ inability to maintain a marriage without it ending in a messy divorce. That isn’t to say it’s always Ross’ fault that his marriages don’t last, but it definitely seems like he’s at least partially to blame for a few of them. Maybe he just has bad luck with wives, or maybe this is the universe’s way of telling him he’s not the kind of guy who’s cut out for that married life. Whatever the reason, Ross got divorced time and time again. Poor guy just couldn’t seem to keep a wife.

Question 3

Who interrupted David's proposal to Phoebe in Barbados?

It takes a lot of courage to propose to someone, especially if that person is as shy and painfully awkward as David was. Still, some misguided advice from Chandler convinced David that proposing to Phoebe was just the thing he needed to do, and he chose to pop the question while the two were on vacation together in Barbados. He had the perfect setting, the perfect woman, and the itty-bitty diamond ring his salary allowed for. However, just as he was asking Phoebe the big question, one person showed up to effectively put a stop to the whole ordeal and ultimately convinced Phoebe that David wasn’t the man for her.

Question 4

What was so strange about Rachel's boyfriend, Russ?

In season two, Rachel introduced us to her new beau: a tall, dark-haired man named Russ. He was certainly an interesting man, not very funny or particularly stimulating to speak to, but Rachel seemed to like him and that was all that mattered. However, upon meeting him, Ross was a little unsure of the whole relationship. There was just something unusual about Russ, but Ross couldn’t put his finger on it. That being said, literally everyone else realized it as soon as they met the guy! Rachel didn’t notice until it was pointed out to her, but once she learned what everyone was so surprised about, she decided there was no future for her and Russ.

Question 5

Which couple had a cold snowy wedding on the streets of New York?

Most people choose a summer wedding or perhaps a spring wedding for the perfect time to say their “I do’s” and marry the one they love. However, tradition has never really suited this couple who decided that just wasn’t for them and ended up having a snowy outdoor wedding on the empty streets of New York. While definitely picturesque, a winter wedding isn’t exactly ideal circumstances and a sudden blizzard sent this wedding briefly off the rails. Question 6

Who dated a police officer?

This character didn’t met their cop beau the old fashioned way with a meet-cute situation. Instead, they found their badge in the couch cushions at Central Perk and decided they could use this power for good. So, they set out to stop people from littering, putting out cigarette butts on tree trunks, and even attempting to make someone move their car when they parked it high up on the curb. However, the driver would turn out to be the real owner of the cop badge. Pretending to be a cop is no laughing matter, but this particular officer had a soft spot for the person using their badge and the two dated for awhile! That is, before the cop shot a bird and the relationship effectively ended.

Question 7

Whose girlfriend shaved her head?

Everyone has a hairstyle they prefer, and for this character’s girlfriend, it was the cleanly shaven, no-hair kind of style that suited her best. For awhile she actually let her hair grow out long and beautiful, much to her spouse’s delight. However, a little encouragement from someone made her realize how much of a hassle it really is to try and take care of long hair. So, she decided to take the electric razor to her head once again and made sure not a single hair was left behind. While shaved heads can definitely be a fantastic look, her significant other wasn’t much too pleased with the outcome and the relationship didn’t last long after that.

Question 8

What big mistake did Ross make during his wedding to Emily?

There are only a few things that a groom has to worry about on his wedding day. It’s typically the bride who plans everything else out and makes sure that everything is happening exactly according to plan. With so few responsibilities, it’s pretty hard for a groom to mess up the big day, but that didn’t stop Ross from effectively making a pretty big mistake during his nuptials with Emily. That is, until she slipped out the window and ran away. Must have been a pretty huge mistake!
