Star Wars is a great franchise, and plenty of us know all about it. Not only have there been tons of different movies, but there have also been video games, TV series, comic books, novels, and much more. It's one of the most extensive universes out there, and there have been quite a few stories told within this amazing world. But what makes a story unforgettable? The characters, of course! There are quite a few amazing characters in the Star Wars universe, and fans each have their own personal favorites. But each and every character in the Star Wars universe impacts the story in some way, and true fans don't forget a single one.

Even someone as knowledgeable as Yoda couldn't name all of these Star Wars characters. Sure, there are a few easy ones that everyone knows about. But what about those weird aliens no one seems to know? Or what about those random Jedi warriors who are just sort of sitting around in the Jedi Council, without saying a single word? Everyone knows who this Jedi is. When fans saw this Sith, they were blown away. We'd heard tales about ancient Sith warriors before in the past, but we'd rarely seen one so talented. In the past, we were used to seeing Sith as old or crippled warriors. But this one was fluid, fast, and amazingly agile. His trademark was his double-ended lightsaber, which proved enough to take on two Jedi at once. Eventually, this character was put down by a strong Jedi warrior, but not before he became a fan favorite.

This Epic Villain

Fans will undoubtedly be aware that this is the granddaddy of all Star Wars villains. This man fooled an entire empire, pretending to be a mere old man when really he was plotting the takeover of the entire galaxy. In the end, it was revealed that he was the Sith Lord behind every ploy in the entire galaxy, including the Separatists. It was all just a ploy for him to gain control, and ultimately end the Jedi Order.

This Protocol Droid

This droid provided one of the most iconic voices in the Star Wars series. He might not be well-suited to combat, but definitely provides a lot of comic relief. He's also familiar with tons of different languages, which makes him pretty useful in certain situations. The character was actually built by Anakin Skywalker a long time ago. He is characterized by his gold plating and his proper, polite manner of speaking. He's definitely one of the most recognizable characters in the Star Wars series.

He didn't stick around for very long, but he definitely made a great impression when he appeared. This Jedi Knight was the main "leader" in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. He was the one who actually found Anakin Skywalker, and realized the incredible potential that the boy had. This character has an interesting arc, and he betrays our heroes at one point. But afterwards, he manages to redeem himself.

He seems to be fulfilling a mostly administrative role. It isn't until some time later that we see this Jedi in action. It then becomes clear that this man is more than capable with a lightsaber in his hands. In fact, this Jedi would have defeated Sidious, if it weren't for certain circumstances...

In many ways the prequels mirror the first films. Instead of Princess Leia, we get another regal female character in the form of this woman. At first, we're not even sure who she is, as she uses body doubles in an ingenious way. But eventually, we learn that this complex character is actually very down to Earth, and she's capable of holding her own in battle - just like Leia. She also falls in love with a famous Jedi warrior.

This character might not have appeared in many scenes, but fans seemed to love him. It's no wonder why. There's a lot to love! He might not be a Jedi, but he can swing a lightsaber. This famous separatist leader proved himself to be quite troublesome, and go the better of many Jedi over the course of his life. That's exactly how he started to collect so many lightsabers. And due to his many limbs, he was able to wield his entire collection all at the same time. Eventually, this leader fell to one of the best Jedi out there. But not before he had caused a lot of harm.

This is definitely one of the most clear cut heroes we've ever seen in the world of Star Wars. She's probably the best hope for the Jedi order right now, and she seems to have miraculously learned most of the Jedi skills, even when she wasn't being taught by anyone. Quite a feat. She seems to instinctively know how to duel with a lightsaber, and she continues to show her talents in the newer Disney reboots of the Star Wars series.

In the first few movies, there were quite a few villains. Yes, there were the familiar faces of Vader and Sidious, but there were also the many officers and high-ranking officials within the Imperial Military itself. One of the most well-known commanders was this man. He was incredibly intelligent, and formed a good team with Vader. The two seemed to have an almost friendly relationship, and complemented each other well. This leader was firm, but he knew how to get the job done.

One of the best ever actually signed up for a secret program to create an entire army of clone warriors. These clones were to be exact copies of this particular Bounty Hunter. It proved to be a great choice, because this guy could definitely handle himself in a scrap. Eventually, he met his end.

In the prequels, there were all kinds of villains roaming around. Of course, true fans will know that according to the rules of the Sith, there are only supposed to be two Sith at any one time. There is a master, and there is a servant. But at one point, there seemed to be quite a few. This character was one of the Sith, but he had his own Padawan in General Grievous. Eventually, this character met his end at the hands of one who would later become a Sith himself.

This character didn't actually appear in any of the movies. She was one of the main characters in a series called "Star Wars: The Clone Wars." This character proved to be quite interesting, and she was actually the Padawan of Anakin Skywalker at one point. She was definitely a wild Jedi, and had trouble following orders at certain points (just like her master). Eventually, she left the Jedi order for good. She was instrumental in the Clone Wars, and fought in many battle.

Rarely do we actually get to see inside the world of the Empire. The Storm Troopers seem to be in a world of their own, and it's tough to see behind those iconic masks. But that all changed when we got to know this character a little better. He was a guy who actually showed remorse and regret for the actions of the Imperium, and he later decided to switch sides, joining the Alliance. He proved to be a very interesting character

He might not have appeared in many scenes, but this character proved to be quite integral to the overall plot of the entire series. When we meet him, he's in a position of authority when it comes to the administrative functioning of the galaxy. But he quickly proves that he's a capable ally to the Alliance. As Order 66 comes into reality, he is forced to flee. But he takes with him a young Leia, to raise as his own.

Sure, he didn't exactly live very long. And he probably should have thought twice about getting on Han Solo's nerves. But that doesn't change the fact that fans loved him, and haven't really forgotten about him. Since his appearance in the movies, this character has been included in all kinds of media, from cartoons to comic books and much more. He is also at the center of a long debate about who fired first - Han Solo or this guy...

This is another character who didn't get to appear in more than one movie, although she definitely made a strong impression in the movie she DID appear in. She is the daughter of a very interesting and skilled man. This man actually designed the base of the Empire. He didn't want to, however, and tried to escape the Empire. His daughter eventually joined up with the Alliance, and started to find out the true story about what happened to her father. She's a great character.

This Droid would be a very dangerous enemy to face... Luckily, he's actually on the side of the good guys! He might look like an Imperial Droid, but in reality he's been reprogrammed to serve only the Alliance. Funnily enough, something strange happened with his programming... In the end, this droid become very sarcastic and funny for some reason. He was a fan favorite from the movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. But like pretty much all of the characters in that movie, he didn't make it...

This Legendary Engineer

Remember how everyone made fun of the fact that the huge, moon-shaped Imperial weapon had a glaring and obvious problem with it? It was was pretty funny (and unlikely) to think that this giant, sophisticated base had something that would destabilize the entire structure if it was compromised with just one torpedo. But with this particular character, this problem was actually explained! Yes, this character actually purposely designed it to have these flaws. It was a great addition to the Star Wars world.

Sometimes, a villain doesn't need to have the ability to shoot lightning out of his arms and choke people with his mind. Sometimes, a villain who can simply be the bad guy is enough. That was the case with this particular villain, who appeared in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. His viciousness and villainy was enough to make us really dislike him when the movie was over. Luckily, he got what was coming to him by the end of the movie.

He also served on the Jedi council, where his wise words were always well respected. A personal friend to people like Mace Windu and Master Yoda, this Jedi fought until the bitter end. Eventually, he was put down by Darth Sidious.

And for the REAL fans out there, the action figures were some of the most valuable.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story included some truly amazing characters. It was definitely unfortunate that almost every single one of those characters never made it off the surface of the planet which was their final battle. One of the best characters in that movie was this character. He was blind, but he seemed to be guided by the force alone. Somehow, he was able to enjoy combat just as much as any other warrior. He probably would have been a Jedi, if the order still existed.

Here's another character who was an amazing addition to the story of Rogue One. This character seemed to be a grizzled veteran, and he definitely could handle himself in a battle. This character was actually an intelligence officer, which means that he was essentially a spy. Considered one of the Alliance's most stealthy and accomplished warriors, this character was sent in to where the combat was the thickest. He certainly proved himself during the events of Rogue One, and plenty of fans really enjoyed his performance in the film.

Star Wars is filled with all kinds of strange alien characters. Perhaps this was a little bit more extenuated with the older films. These movies seemed to be filled with all kinds of random puppets. This face might be familiar to some fans. He only appears for a little while in the very first Star Wars film, but he definitely makes an impression. He is the caregiver of Luke Skywalker, and this early father figure clearly wants Luke to stay and help with the farm. He clearly cares about the boy. Soon afterwards, the moisture farmer unfortunately falls to the Empire along with his wife. It's not long after that until Luke starts his very first adventure.
