Even Hardcore Vampire Diaries Fans Can't Pass This Final Season Test

The Vampire Diaries is a famous supernatural drama TV series that was developed by Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson.  It was based on a very popular book series of the same name that was written by the talented writer L. J. Smith.

Season one of The Vampire Diaries came out in 2009 (has it really been 10 years already?) and was an immediate success. The final season, season eight, aired two years ago, in 2017 (much to the disappointment of the show's fans who wanted the series to continue forever). The show proved to be so successful that two spin-off shows were created - The Originals (on air between 2013 and 2018) and Legacies (season one of which aired last year).

Set in a fictional town of Mystic Falls, The Vampire Diaries centers on a human girl named Elena. The world of Elena and her friends was plunged into chaos after she meets a handsome and mysterious man named Stefan. Soon enough his equally as mysterious and equally as handsome brother Damon shows up and a love triangle ensues. That's basically what the show is all about, at least until season seven when Elena is no longer around. Season eight is when things get truly interesting, however, partly because we are introduced to countless exciting new characters and partly because it is the season where we get to find out how things end for the characters that we have grown to love.

Question 1

Who is this siren?

Who thinks that they know the name of the woman in the image above? As most fans are probably well aware, she was a siren. Sirens are supernatural beings who were once psychics but who were granted immortality in return for harvesting the souls of the wicked. They feed on the flesh of human beings in order to remain young and beautiful. This siren was sometimes referred to as "The Armory's Monster". We first met her at the end of season seven of the show. She became the main villain in season eight of the series and caused numerous problems for the show's protagonists.

Question 2

How does Stefan propose to Caroline?

Stefan's and Caroline's relationship was beautiful so it comes as no surprise that quite a few fans abandoned the Stelena ship (Stefan and Elena) and jumped on the Steroline ship (Stefan and Caroline) even before it was evident that Elena was going to choose Damon over Stefan. Stefan was the one who taught Caroline how to be a good vampire. He saved her life on numerous occasions and he was always there when she needed a shoulder to cry on. She too was always there for him and she was one of the few people that Stefan could trust unconditionally. We all knew that they were going to get together at one point or another but we were still surprised when Stefan proposed.

Question 3

What are the names of Caroline’s twin daughters?

Caroline's daughters were not really her daughters, at least not biologically speaking. If you're a true fan of the show then you probably know that Caroline became the surrogate mother for Alaric Saltzman's and Jo Parker's babies after Jo's life was taken by none other but her twin brother. While skeptical at first (after all, female vampires can't get pregnant), Caroline was overjoyed to find out that Alaric's and Jo's babies survived. She was more than happy to accept responsibility for them and even put her own romantic life on hold so as to take better care of them. Of course, Caroline's daughters were featured in season eight of the show. But what were their names?

Question 4

Who is Cade?

We were not introduced to Cade (who was sometimes referred to as Arcadius), until season eight of the show. He was the oldest character on the show according to The Vampire Diaries Wiki. Cade was a recurring character in the final season of the series and one of the antagonists. He was not a nice person but then again, he did have a pretty sad backstory. Before 750 B.C. he was an ordinary human being. He was optimistic, kind and empathetic. He loved nothing more than to help those in need. However, his personality underwent a serious change after his townsfolk betrayed him.

Question 5

Name this siren.

At the start of this quiz we asked you to name one of the two sirens that served as the show's antagonists in season eight of The Vampire Diaries. We have no doubt that you got that question right just like we have no doubt that you will ace this question too. This siren was the older adoptive sister of the siren that we have mentioned previously. She was worse than her sister however in that she saw nothing wrong in engaging in cannibalistic practices when she lived on an isolated island. She tricked her sister into eating human flesh too (she told her that the bodies of the sailors that they were consuming were pieces of animal meat).

Question 6

And what does this siren pose as?

In the question above we asked you to name the woman in the image. We also mentioned that she was one of the two sirens that acted as the two main villains in season eight of the show. However, we didn't actually know that she was a villain - and a siren - straight away. Indeed, initially we thought that she was a normal human being. She certainly did not seem extraordinary. Of course, it helped that she had a normal job. Who can remember what this siren posed as? If you've watched season eight of The Vampire Diaries you should pass this question with flying colors.

Question 7

Who does Bonnie choose under the command of one of the sirens - Damon or Enzo?

The two sirens were the two main antagonists of season eight of The Vampire Diaries so it makes sense that they were incredibly mean to the characters that we had grown to love. For example, at the end of season seven, one of the sirens captured Damon and Enzo and made them do her bidding. In season eight she made Bonnie choose between the two. Obviously, that was a hard decision - Damon was Bonnie's best friend and Enzo was her lover. To make sure that Bonnie did make a choice, the siren forced the two best friends to fight. Eventually Bonnie did make a decision. Who did she choose - Damon or Enzo?

Question 8

Georgie Dowling had a self-proclaimed Ph.D. in what subject?

Georgie (or Georgina) Dowling was a recurring character on season eight of The Vampire Diaries. In total she appeared in only five episodes of the show but was nonetheless a rather important character. She was fun and witty but had a dark secret. In one of the episodes she opened up to Alaric Saltzman, confessing that when she was younger she got into a car accident. She wasn't the only person in the car - her best friend who was too drunk to drive was there with her. Both of them passed away but for one reason or another George returned from the other side.

Question 9

One of the sirens gets a job as a teacher. What subject does she teach?

In one of the episodes in season eight of the show one of the sirens got a job as a teacher at Mystic Falls High School. But who can recall the subject that she taught? If you're a loyal fan of the show then you should have no trouble whatsoever selecting the correct answer from the four options that are available above. Of course, the siren had no intention of teaching the kids. Her main objective was to get her hands on a very special object and she used the kids as a way to blackmail Caroline into helping her search for it.

Question 10

Who is this?

We were introduced to countless characters over the course of The Vampire Diaries. Interestingly enough, we met quite a few of them for the very first time in season eight of the show (the reason we think it's interesting is because season eight was the final season of the series which means that the storylines of new characters could not really be developed properly for they only had limited screen time). The man that can be seen in the image above was introduced to us pretty early on in season eight. In total he appeared in as many as eight episodes and was a rather important character. But who was he?

Question 11

Where is Bonnie secretly keeping Elena?

Avid fans of The Vampire Diaries are without doubt well aware that at the end of season six Elena was placed in a very deep sleep by Kai (who also took the life of his own twin sister). Initially no one knew as to what had happened but of course Kai couldn't resist gloating and as such confessed that Elena's life was linked to Bonnie's life. This meant one thing: as long as Bonnie was alive, Elena would not wake up. No one was prepared to take Bonnie's life hence why everyone tried to make peace with the new state that Elena was in. Of course, seeing her friend in deep slumber was hard on Bonnie but instead of letting her go she kept a close eye on her.

Question 12

The secret to eliminating Cade is written down where?

We mentioned Cade, also known as Arcadius, earlier in this quiz. He was one of the antagonists in season eight of The Vampire Diaries, which is when we were first introduced to him. He was a mean man (or rather, supernatural being) who loved to exploit people's weaknesses. Of course, he wasn't always bad. Once upon a time - back when he led a perfectly normal life - he was kind, empathetic and friendly. But then he experienced betrayal and his perception of humanity was changed forever. Cade was the reason why some of our favorite characters passed away in season eight of the show. As such, it comes as no surprise that pretty much everyone was preoccupied with the thought of getting rid of him.

Question 13

What is the name of this character?

We were first introduced to this particular character in episode one of season eight of The Vampire Diaries. He was an occult studies student and he worked alongside Alaric Saltzman. Halfway through the show he began to recall how his family passed away because Stefan Salvatore (who, at the time, was traveling with the Original Vampire and Hybrid Klaus), set their house on fire. Hoping to exact revenge he captured Stefan, intending to shoot him in the woods. However, he couldn't go through with his plan. At the end of the season we saw this character employed at Caroline Forbes's and Alaric Saltzman's Salvatore Boarding School for the Young & Gifted.

Question 14

One of the sirens wants Caroline to retrieve a mysterious object from her garage. What is it?

We mentioned previously that at one point during season eight of the show one of the sirens got a job as a teacher at Mystic Falls High School. Of course, teaching her students was the last thing on her mind - she just wanted to gain leverage over Caroline. When Caroline showed up to her class, the siren showed her just how easy it was for her to mind control her students. She then brought them - and Caroline - to the nearby woods where she made them build a pyre. That's when she told Caroline to either locate the object that she was looking for or watch the innocent students burn. Caroline rang Matt and found out that the object was in her mother's garage.

Question 15

Who is turned into a human halfway through the season?

Throughout the course of the series we saw countless characters turned into supernatural beings (mostly werewolves and vampires) although on a few occasions we also saw a few supernatural beings turned back into humans. Most vampires were more than happy with their supernatural abilities and had no regrets of turning (except for Elena of course who always wanted to be a human), even if they never did want to turn when they were still human. As such, most supernatural creatures had no desire to revert back to their normal human selves. Still, they were not always given a choice. Which one of the above four supernatural characters was turned into a human halfway through season eight?

Question 16

Who came up with the idea for the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young & Gifted?

At the end of season eight the Salvatore Boarding House was converted to a school for supernatural children. The school was called the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young & Gifted. Alaric and Caroline taught there, as did a few other people. It was where Caroline's own two daughters learned about their own powers as well as the world that surrounded them. The idea to set up a school for supernaturally gifted children was a good one but who was it that came up with the ingenious thought? If you consider yourself a true fan of the show then you will without doubt know the answer to this very simple question!

Question 17

Why does Bonnie’s mother burn Enzo’s body?

Most fans will probably agree that Bonnie Bennett was one of the best characters on the show. At the start of the series we liked her for her kindness and her optimism. As the series progressed we began to love her for her inner strength and her intense loyalty. That's why we were so disappointed when it became apparent that she was not going to get the happily ever after that she deserved. We all wanted her to end up with Enzo. The two were perfect for one another but unfortunately, they were not meant to be. As most can probably recall, Stefan took Enzo's life, leaving Bonnie with an incurable heartache. She could still keep contact with him using her magical powers but then her mother burned his body. Why did she do that?

Question 18

Cade makes Damon choose between eliminating Elena or Stefan. What is Damon’s choice?

We have already established that Cade was a wicked man. Not that we expected him to be nice. After all, he was one of the main villains of season eight of the show. He toyed with people and he enjoyed watching them do bad things. He brought people pain and he made them make impossible decisions. For example, who can forget that time when he made Damon choose between Elena or Stefan? Damon was supposed to decide whether Cade should eliminate Stefan, his brother, or Elena, the woman that he was in love with. Who thinks that they can remember Damon's choice?

Question 19

What is the name of the witch that returned from the other side halfway through the show?

As mentioned previously, we were introduced to a large number of new characters during season eight of The Vampire Diaries. We've asked you to name a few of them earlier on in this quiz and if you are truly the loyal fan that you think you are then you obviously aced the questions. However, just because we were introduced to new characters does not mean that we did not get to meet some of the old characters too. Indeed, halfway through the season we got to meet one of the show's most disliked villains who managed to return from the other side and had a favor to ask.

Question 20

Why does Matt’s mother return to Mystic Falls?

We first met Matt's mother, Kelly, in season one of the show. We were quick to realize that she was not a good parent. She could not keep a job for more than a couple of weeks and she spent most of her time hooking up with random men. As such, it comes as no surprise that her son, Matt, was so mature for his age. He had to learn how to take care of himself pretty early on in his life. Kelly took off at the end of season one and was not seen again until season eight. But why did she return to Mystic Falls?

Question 21

Who is this?

Here we have another character that was introduced to The Vampire Diaries in the show's final season. Even though she appeared in only four episodes of the series she was a rather important character hence why everyone (and by everyone we mean loyal fans of the series) should ace this question. This character was a student at Mystic Falls High School and a member of the Fell family. When we first met her she was a normal human girl but before long Stefan had her transformed into a vampire. She could not control her urges however and as such Stefan ended up staking her.

Question 22

Who interrupts Caroline’s and Stefan’s Christmas Eve?

Caroline and Stefan had a pretty complicated relationship. They did not become close until Caroline was turned into a vampire which is when Stefan taught her how to feed on animals and how to control her urges. He was always there for her and naturally, she was always there for him too. They knew that they could count on one another no matter what. It was inevitable that they were going to end up together but their relationship was far from simple. They ended up spending quite a lot of time apart so in season eight we all wanted them to spend as much time together as possible. Unfortunately, they were not left alone even on Christmas Eve. Who was it that interrupted their special night?

Question 23

Whose bones are used to construct a dagger that was meant to eliminate Katherine?

Remember Katherine? She was the woman who turned the Salvatore brothers (Stefan and Damon) into vampires. They both loved her and for a while they believed that she loved them too. Of course, in the end it turned out that Katherine loved no one but herself. She was manipulative and cold-hearted and she made Elena's life miserable. In fact, as most people are probably well aware, she was one of the show's most hard-hearted and merciless villains. We all thought that she passed away at the end of season five which is why we were more than surprised to see her re-appear in season eight of the show. Of course, the Mystic Falls gang took the opportunity to find a way to get rid of her once and for all.

Question 24

What is Caroline’s gift to Damon?

In one of the episodes in season eight of the show, Damon is in a room full of people. Some of the people that he is surrounded by are people that he has known for years whereas others are practically strangers. Since Damon is acting under the orders of one of the sirens, he tells the group of people that he is going to send one of them - the one that is most contemptible - to the other side. Before he makes this charming little speech however, Caroline gives him a gift. Who can recall what was Caroline's gift to Damon?

Question 25

Why does Vicki return to Mystic Falls?

It was all the way back in season one of The Vampire Diaries that we were first introduced to Vicki Donovan. Vicki was Matt's sister. However, even though they were siblings they had very little in common. Whereas Matt was mature and hardworking, Vicki was irresponsible and spent most of her time partying and taking illegal substances. As such, it came as no surprise that she was one of the first few Mystic Falls inhabitants to be turned into a vampire. Being a vampire did not really work out for her. She couldn't stick to the bunny diet that Stefan told her about and as such she had to be eliminated before she became a real threat. But why did she return from the other side in season eight of the show?

Question 26

Who passes away at the end of season 8 – Stefan or Damon?

At the end of season eight Mystic Falls almost disappeared in hellfire. Luckily, our favorite witch, Bonnie Bennett, realized that she could use her magical powers to reverse the hellfire back to hell. This was not only to save Mystic Falls but also to get rid of hell. Pretty much all Mystic Falls inhabitants had evacuated the town at that point. Damon, however, stayed behind so as to make sure that Katherine was liquidated in the hellfire. This was very noble of him for it meant that he would be liquidated with her. Then Stefan showed up and told Damon that he was willing to sacrifice himself. So, which Salvatore brother stayed behind? In other words, which Salvatore brother passed away at the end of season eight?

Question 27

Who controls Cade?

You're probably sick and tired of answering Cade-related questions. However, there is a good reason as to why we focus so much on Cade. Cade was the main antagonist of season eight of The Vampire Diaries. Pretty much everything that happened in season eight was a result of his interference. All the characters that passed away, all the characters that never got to live the life that they deserved... That was all Cade's fault. Or was it? Towards the very end of season eight - when Cade was eliminated - we learned that Cade was actually controlled by someone else. Who was that someone else?

Question 28

True or False - Elena awakens from her slumber?

We mentioned earlier on in this quiz that at the end of season six of the show Elena was placed in deep sleep by Kai, a Siphoner and a member of the Heretics (he also took the life of his twin sister, Jo Parker). Initially no one understood as to why Elena was in what seemed like a coma but eventually Kai explained that her life was linked to that of Bonnie's. This meant that as long as Bonnie lived, Elena would remain in her slumber. While the old Damon would not have hesitated to snap Bonnie's neck, the new Damon loved Bonnie as a friend and did not want to hurt her. Elena did not make an appearance in season seven of the show but who knows whether she awoke from her slumber in season eight of the series?

Question 29

Which Original Vampire makes a donation to the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young & Gifted?

At the end of season eight of The Vampire Diaries we learned that the Salvatore Boarding House was turned into a school for supernaturally gifted children. The school is known as the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young & Gifted and it is run by Caroline Forbes and Alaric Saltzman. Their two daughters are among the supernaturally talented students who attend the one of a kind school. Of course, teaching supernaturally gifted kids is a huge undertaking which is why Alaric and Caroline have enlisted the help of other people. They were also given a generous donation by one of the Original Vampires. But which Original Vampire was so kind as to part with millions of dollars?

Question 30

What does Enzo give Bonnie in the hopes that they’ll be together forever?

Bonnie and Enzo made for a lovely couple but theirs was not a love at first sight. Indeed, they first met under tense circumstances and for a long time were frenemies. They became more tolerant of one another when Bonnie saved him from being sucked into Oblivion as the other side began to collapse. Later Bonnie gave Enzo advice on how to go about dealing with Lily Salvatore, Stefan's and Damon's mother, and he saved her before the Armory could get a hold of her. It is while hiding from the Armory that the two shared their first kiss. Before long, they were in a committed relationship.

Question 31

What does Bonnie decide to do at the end of the season?

When we first met Bonnie Bennett in season one of The Vampire Diaries we had no idea that she would have to go through so much over the course of the show. Indeed, as the series progressed Bonnie not only learned that she was a powerful witch but also lost plenty of loved ones, became the Anchor to the Other Side, served as a supernatural huntress, went to college, and found herself stuck in jail world. She also befriended Damon, something neither she nor us the viewers could have predicted in season one of the show. So what did Bonnie decide to do with her life at the end of season eight?

Question 32

Who eliminates Cade?

Cade was one of the villains of season eight of The Vampire Diaries so it only makes sense that he got quite a lot of screen time (he appeared in eight episodes in total but other characters mentioned him and acted on his behalf too). Cade was the reason why some of our favorite characters passed away (and also the reason why some of our favorite characters never got the happy ending that they deserved). We all wanted Cade gone, and so did all the characters. Eventually they managed to get rid of him for good. But who was it that took Cade's life?

Question 33

Which character thinks of running for Mayor?

Every town needs a Mayor. As loyal fans of the show should have no difficulty recalling, Richard Lockwood was the Mayor of Mystic Falls in season one of The Vampire Diaries. As far as Mayors go, Lockwood seemed pretty competent although we didn't see him in action all that much. Still, he cared about the town and its inhabitants and was prepared to do all it took to get it rid of vampires and other supernatural beings. After he passed away his wife, Carol Lockwood, inherited his position as town's mayor. But her life was also taken and for a while it seemed like Mystic Falls was left without someone to look after it. Which of the above four characters was seen thinking of running for Mayor at the end of season eight?

Question 34

Who said “I think I'm on the waitlist for heaven, but they haven't called"?

The Vampire Diaries is an enthralling TV series known not only for its captivating characters and intriguing plot but also for its great writing. We've heard the characters utter some amazing lines over the course of the show. Some of the lines were sad (and had us reaching for tissues), some were thought-provoking (and as such left us inspired) and some were hilarious (and made us laugh out loud). Some of the lines were more memorable than others. The line above - “I think I'm on the waitlist for heaven, but they haven't called.” - was pretty memorable, in our opinion, but who was it that said it?

Question 35

Who takes Tyler Lockwood's life?

Tyler Lockwood was first introduced to us all the way back in season one of The Vampire Diaries. He attended Mystic Falls High School and played for the school's football team. He was arrogant and selfish and as such most of us did not like him very much. As the show progressed he unknowingly activated his werewolf gene and later was turned into a hybrid (a half werewolf and half vampire) by the Original Vampire and Hybrid Klaus Mikaelson. He managed to break his sire bond however and eventually left town. He then joined the Armory, an organisation known for specializing in supernatural knowledge and supernatural artifacts. However, he did not get to live a long and happy life for he was eliminated in season eight of the show. But who was it that took Tyler's life?
