With the National Hockey League playoffs in full swing it's time to put your knowledge to the test. 16 teams are battling for the Stanley Cup, the most coveted prize in all of professional sports with the World Series of Major League Baseball giving it a run for its money.

Teams have come and gone in the NHL, and those who have stuck around have all changed their logos in some form or another over the decades of battling it out for Lord Stanley's mug. Those teams who are not around anymore have left a legacy within the NHL in terms of their logos and uniforms such as the Minnesota North Stars, Atlanta Flames, and California Golden Seals to name a few.

Some logos look incredible, such as the current Vegas Golden Knights, where as others are.. questionable, like the 90s New York Islanders fisherman logo, but all have been worn with pride by the teams and their fans for decades, and some jerseys have become collectors items at this point.

Name this NHL team

This hockey club originally stems from the 70s era World Hockey Association, which was a direct competition product of the National Hockey League at the time. They played out of Boston, before moving to Hartford due to scheduling conflicts with another little known club in the form of the Boston Bruins. They were on the move again in 1997 and found a home where they still play out of today, finding success with a Stanley Cup win in the 2005-2006 season.

This franchise was a power house for a long time in the National Hockey League, so much that people forget they actually originated in Kansas City in 1974 before moving to Colorado in 1976 to form the Rockies. In 1982 they were on the move again and have stayed in their current home since then. They have three Stanley Cups to their credit, and produced a slew of Hall of Famers over the course of their history, most notably in the net minding department with Marty Brodeur.

Since then however they haven't managed to bring home another championship, and had fallen on some dark times since in terms of team performance.

They are well known for their rough and tumble style of play.

This club is one of the biggest power houses in the entire National Hockey League right now, although their history in the league tells a different story where they almost went bankrupt and were a losing franchise for a long period of time. They won two Stanley Cups in the early 90s under the leadership of Mario Lemieux and it wasn't until the late 2000s where they would strike gold again and win a Cup under their new franchise player Sidney Crosby.

The team had eight losing seasons during their run in the NHL, and barely made a sound when it came down to the playoffs. This franchise formed in 1924 as part of the National Hockey League's Original Six hockey clubs. Their rough and gritty style of game play is fitting based on where their hail from, and has been part of their club identity since its formation. They have produced some of the greatest players to ever play the game in Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito, and have six Stanley Cups to their name, with their latest coming in the 2010-2011 season against the Vancouver Canucks.

They have an impressive 11 Stanley Cups to their credit, and went on the longest streak ever recorded in National Hockey League history for making it into the post season which ended after 25 seasons of making it into the spring dance.

This franchise came into the National Hockey League during another expansion year which saw the Mighty Ducks in Anaheim (owned by Disney) join the western conference as this club joined the east. They made a pretty good first impression in the early going, making it all the way to the Stanley Cup final in 1996-1997 against the Colorado Avalanche but would ending up losing that series in a four game sweep. To this day they haven't had much more experience in the post season, however they are turning it around with their crop of prospects and young talent.

This franchise is likely one of the most recognizable teams in all of professional hockey, stemming from their early going as part of the Original Six and having the most Stanley Cups out of any other franchise in the National Hockey League to date with an impressive 24 total championships to their name. Although they have not won a championship since 1993, they are one of those teams who always look a little dangerous when it gets late in the year.

This franchise is the second incarnation of a club under the same name who played in the same city from 1917 to 1934. The original club won an impressive 11 Stanley Cups in that run, but this current franchise has won zero so far, after joining the National Hockey League in 1992. They won the President's Trophy in 2002-2003 at the league's top team that year, but failed to make it through the Eastern Conference finals over the New Jersey Devils.

This franchise entered into the National Hockey League during the very first expansion era which saw it and five other franchises join the Original Six in 1967. Despite their long standing history in the NHL they have yet to win a Stanley Cup, although they have been making waves during the post season and are likely to win a championship sooner than later. The club is one of the few lucky teams to have played home to Wayne Gretzky before his retirement.

They joined the National Hockey League in 1979 after the leagues merged and played there until 1997 when they were relocated to Carolina and are still there to this day. While they have no Stanley Cups to their credit, they did manage to snag an Avco World Trophy in 1972-1973, the WHA's equivalent to the Stanley Cup at the time.

The won a Stanley Cup in the 2006-2007 season, and it's their only cup to date despite always being in the running.

This club was originally formed in Atlanta in 1972 before before being sold and moved to its new Canadian home while still flying the same banner. They have played home to some of the all-time greats like Lanny Mcdonald, Doug Gilmore, and Theo Fleury, and even won a Stanley Cup with that core for their team in 1988-1989. They made another run at the Cup in 2003-2004 but fell short against the Tampa Bay Lightning in a hard fought seven game series.

They are making quick work of their current playoff run and are high favorites to win it all in their first year, which would be a first for any expansion team to date.

This franchise is the most recent club to have been relocated to another city in the National Hockey League. They were formed in 1999 and played in the NHL until 2011 when they were relocated to Winnipeg, which was a blessing for the fans in the Peg as they were finally getting another NHL team after the Jets rolled out of town in 1996. They didn't see much success in terms of team performance and were a minor blip on the radar of National Hockey League fans.
