When you think about gory, graphic television shows, what comes to mind? For the last number of years, two titles have topped the charts, weaving together gore, sex, the unknown and of course, plenty of camaraderie along the way. We're of course speaking about the two cultural juggernauts Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead.

The Walking Dead premiered on AMC in 2010 to massive fanfare. Based on the comic book series of the same name, it followed the zombie apocalyptic outbreak that most people are fairly sure is an inevitability going forward, especially in today's current climate. The show followed Rick Grimes as he wakes up from a coma in the midst of an outbreak of an unknown disease, and chronicles his journey through this new strange world he has awoken into, and try to stay alive against all odds.

Game of Thrones, also based on a multinational book series that has garnered rave reviews since its release in the early 90s, and was aired by HBO in 2011, to tell the thrilling saga on the small screen. The show follows the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros as they fight for control of the realm, beginning with the death of the General of the Kingsguard of King Robert, and Warden of the North Eddard (Ned) Stark was granted the title. From there, the show evolved into a cultural phenomenon, earning massive viewers and a dedicated fan base.

These shows parallel each other so much that it is quite simple to draw comparisons on them, and it's even more fun to make you guess which one's which. So grab some popcorn and put on your thinking caps, it's time to begin.

In the end, this action did create a very intense and interesting storyline in the newest seasons, but we won't say anything about that quite yet. Which show was this?

Question 5

A brother and sister have an incestuous relationship

Another paramount between the two shows is their ability to really push the envelope with what the audience will handle before thinking it's possibly a bit too weird, and this one toes the line expertly.
