Rick and Morty is an animated, science-fiction sitcom dreamed up by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland that seemingly took the world by storm when it debuted back in December 2013. Now--just a mere 4 years later--everyone knows about the show Rick and Morty for better and for worst. I'm looking at you Star Trek fans who think that Rick and Morty is just a watered down version of their show. I mean, hey maybe it is, but it's sure as heck entertaining and funny to watch. Despite how you may feel about the show, all can agree that it is extremely popular among millennials. Everyone wants to dress as Rick for Halloween, businesses are trying to cater to fans by subtly referencing the show, and everyone knows the song "Get Swifty".
But how closely are you paying attention to the show? Many people think there is something weird going on like the Rick and Morty you start with in season one may not be the same Rick and Morty that you see in season three. What do you think?

Rick is known as a mad genius so it only makes sense that his daughter would be wicked smart, as well. In the show she is an accomplished horse surgeon seen operating on a horse's heart in the very first episode of season one. Now if only those smarts carried into her offspring. But then again, there would be no Rick and Morty show if Morty was another family genius. Morty has a West Highland White Terrier as a pet whom they refer to as Snuffles. Snuffles is a fairly minor character who only appears once in the show. If you had always thought dogs get the short end of the stick in our world then season one episode two may have been one of the more interesting episodes for you. In the "M. Night Shaym-Aliens!" episode, Rick realizes his world is just a simulation made by aliens to steal the recipe for his concentrated dark matter. Rick and Morty are able to find a glitch in their simulation by showering naked together. However, Jerry is not so observant and tries to sell his apples pitch to a group of buyers. It's not until he receives an award for his efforts that he is able to outsmart the simulation (unknowingly, of course). Many strange things happen that Jerry doesn't seem to question, including all those repeating characters that say this phrase over and over again.
Easy Question Time! What substance is Rick addicted to?
Here's an easy question! Anyone who has seen at least one episode should be able to get this right. Although, we aren't too sure why Rick has this addiction. What's so bad about being super smart and living with your daughter's family? Apparently Rick seems to understand something that everyone in his universe is missing it. One popular theory is that Rick is self-actualized: he knows he is a cartoon character and he wears the burden of always trying to entertain otherwise his show will be canceled. Remember Meeseeks? The blue, lanky alien who seems to be constantly screaming? This is the episode where Rick leaves Summer, Beth, and Jerry with the Meeseeks box to help them fulfil their desires. All goes well for Summer and Beth, but not so much for Jerry. Ironically, it was Jerry who advised Beth and Summer to not make an overly complicated request for the Meeseeks. Back in Rick and Morty's world, Morty's idea of an adventure quickly turns sour when they wind up on trial for murdering the village's giant. However, all of this falls to pieces when Jessica sneezes onto another classmate who then passes the love potion serum to everyone via the air vents in their high school gymnasium. Soon everyone becomes just as in love with Morty as Jessica. But how does Rick save the day?

Originally, the entire family was watching a spin-off of the Bachelor. Everyone seemed into the show, except for Rick. After taking a crap on the family's interest in the show, Rick installs interdimensional cable on their cable box. If you don't know the backstory then here it is! Beth was knocked up in high school by Jerry. During the episode of interdimensional cable, viewers find out that Beth and Jerry were intending on having an abortion but life got in the way. They had a flat tire and plans fell through from there. The couple to this day laments the lives they would have had if they had not gone through with the pregnancy. Beth finds out she would have been an actual human surgeon (instead of a horse surgeon) and Jerry finds out he would have been a movie star. Go figure.

Naturally, Rick finds out right away that it's none other than the Devil himself selling cursed items. He sells items like cosmetics that make women beautiful but also causes blindness and microscopes that cause the user to become mentally retarded. Luckily, Rick saw right through the Devil's charade and made a shop that rids his items of their curses to put him out of business.

Morty takes on a fatherly role for his new alien baby, and later on in the show when Morty is playing with his son, his son says what sounds like "Dada" but really he is saying this word instead!
