Pixar is leading the charge in the computer animated film world, and with Toy Story being their first ever release 1995, and the world's first ever computer-animated feature, the sky has been the limit ever since.
But did you know that Pixar actually got their start way back in 1979 as part of the Lucasfilm computer division? That's right, THE Lucasfilm. Pixar then became their own corporation in 1986 with funding by none other than the tech giant Apple Inc. and co-founder Steve Jobs would become the majority shareholder. That's a pretty impressive early track record for an animation company.
Pixar would go on to produce 19 computer-animated feature films to date, and as mentioned earlier Toy Story was the beginning of it all in 1995. Each film that followed has gained critical praise, something that is hard to find in any studio or production company in Hollywood.
Pixar has become associated with success, and fans from around the world flock to see any film with the company's name on it based on the Pixar name alone. It seems everything they do turns into instant gold, and it's hard to argue against a company which produced the Toy Story series, Monsters Inc. and Up.

This character was the psychotic next door neighbor to Andy in the first Toy Story. His best friend Sulley discovers a child has entered the monster world and tries his best to get her out of there without detection from the authorities. Of course this is easier said than done. He was the main character in Pixar's 1998 release A Bug's Life. While the film was one of Pixar's least successful, it grossed $336 million at the box office, which says everything about Pixar's success rate. This bug makes a big mistake and is ousted from his colony. He's often the most critical toy as well, but one of the most hilarious as it seems Pixar wrote him into the movie more so for the parents than the kid demographic they were chasing after, and a lot of his jokes will go over the head of most kids.

She had the unfortunate pleasure of being Sid's younger sister in the first Toy Story movie. Sid would often steal her toys and destroy them with fireworks or other experiments which saw him pull the heads off of two different toys and swap them to create a monster. She's harmless and tries to make the best of a bad situation with her broken toys, and does get the last laugh when Sid is brought to pure terror when the toys break the code to teach him a lesson.
