If there's one thing that we can all learn from the past decade or so, it's that news and journalism have become very different things for a number of reasons. Due to the advent of social media and the widespread lying done by politicians, it has become harder to trust sources on facts than ever before. Sadly, we have to put a lot of time in now to check whether or not we're reading is actually true, as people are constantly trying to get the best story in the media. Not only that, but people are actually willing to lie and ignore facts if it means that their preconceived notions are validated.
We decided that we wanted to put you all to the test to see how good you all are at spotting fake news from the real stuff. We've pulled together a number of news stories that have been circulating throughout the past year, some of them true and some of them false. It's up to you to see if you can figure out whether they're fake or not. Think you've got it in you?
It's time to find out just how gullible you are and whether or not you've got what it takes to spot the fake news popping up in your social media news feed. Believe it or not, this sort of thing is important, so we're hoping that you all do very well on this one.
Was Sharia Law Legalized?
One of the hottest topics in the Western world at the moment is whether or not we are threatened by militant Islam and the supposed spread of Sharia Law, so you know that this question header was likely to draw some attention. Crazy to think that there are people in this world that are so scared of somebody because of the color of their skin or the clothes that they choose to wear. We need a lot more love in this world.
Is Western Kentucky University Offering Free Tuition To Black Students As Reparations For Slavery?
We actually love the idea that American universities should start offering free education to black students in way of reparations for slavery. That way, you are offering people an education while also making up for the heinous acts committed by our forefathers. That sort of thing is important if you ask us. You are helping to change some of the people's lives, a concept that should not be scoffed at in a world where it can be hard to keep people motivated.
Did Indiana Legalize Marijuana?
If you could go back in time like twenty years and tell the people of the US that many states would end up legalizing Marijuana by 2017, there is no way that they would believe you. It's great to see that the tide has turned on the drug and that we as a society seem to mostly be alright with it. However, there are still those that oppose it in such a strong manner that likely see its legalization as a mistake.
Did Trump Pass Out While Making A Speech In New Jersey?
One of the weird things we've noticed about US elections is that people become oddly obsessed with the possible bad health of the leading candidate for the opposing party, something that we will never understand. Clinton came under a lot of fire during her election attempts for her purportedly lying about her ill health. Weird to think that some people could look at Donald Trump and think that man is the peak of health when compared to Hillary Clinton, but maybe that's just us.
Have The California Fires Destroyed Marijuana Crops?
It really is getting to a point that we have to wonder how certain areas of the US aren't just cinders right now. Why is it almost impossible for them to make sure that no fire starts to spread across certain states, growing out of control within minutes? Are we wrong in thinking that there seem to be no other countries in the world that have this very specific problem? We're probably not educated enough to make an informed comment...
Did The Obama Administration Spend $770 Million On Mosques?
Once again, the weird obsession with Islam comes into play, which we will never understand. Honestly, finding out an administration spent this amount of money on any form of a religious building should get people annoyed. There's a reason that it's known as the separation of church and state. Spending government money on a religious building is such a waste that it should have people on the streets complaining, but we're sure people wouldn't mind if it was for churches...
Is Vaping Being Outlawed In Public Places In New York?
While we understand that, looking at early studies, vaping isn't as bad for you as smoking, we still think it's crazy how little we know about what they do to our bodies. You would think that it would be in the public interest for somebody to do a lot of work and study the effects that it has on us all, not only on the active user but those passively taking in the smoke as well. Seriously, this stuff is important.

Can you believe that we currently live in a world where the President Of The United States is not able to properly condemn the violent and unpleasant actions of Nazis? It's honestly like we've traveled to a parallel universe sometimes, one where everyone but ourselves is seemingly insane. We know we're not alone on this one, but sometimes it can be very hard to see that. Maybe it's time we all chose to speak out a little bit more on the topic.

Honestly, if anybody of color stated that they were made to feel unsafe by Donald Trump, everyone around the world should immediately understand why that is. In fact, we will extend that to pretty much every single minority across the planet. This man is the perfect example of a white guy who has been handed everything and yet continuously complains about how people paint him in a bad light or are generally mean towards him. Pretty rich if you ask us.
Did Malia Obama Lose An Internship For Smoking Marijuana?
Honestly, not only do most young people try smoking Marijuana during their younger years with little to no negative effects on their life, there will be adults taking this quiz who regularly take drugs and may even be on drugs now. This taboo around taking drugs really has to stop if we want to move forward as a society because it's impossible to be progressive when these insane prohibition laws continue to exist in the modern world. Get over it people.
Were 25 Million Of Clinton's Votes Fraudulent?
One of the best ways to tell if a campaign thinks they're losing the battle is to look how much they attack the other candidate, especially when it comes to the act of voter fraud and rigging the election in some way. Not only is this desperate, it's actually pretty dangerous to undermine the whole election. This raises doubt in the mind of the electorate which you do not want to do if you want the democracy you live in to keep on working.
Was Marijuana Delivered To A Couple By Amazon?
Look, we all know that we love Amazon even though we probably shouldn't, what with their lax reasoning for not paying the right amount of tax, while also underpaying many of the people who work for their company. We continue to go to them for pretty much anything we're looking for, so if this story is real, we don't see why they couldn't ship drugs to states where those drugs are legal. Where is the law that they're breaking there?

For all the talk of Sharia Law in the Western world, we're pretty sure that most of the people constantly talking about it actually have no idea what it is or why we should be supportive or scared of it. This is one of those topics that just gets constantly parroted on about, with nobody actually taking a moment to look into what it is that they're against. That, if you ask us, is why modern politics is slowly becoming an embarrassment.

We have spent a lot of our lives telling everyone that Beyonce shouldn't be as loved as she is, so when Solange released her most recent album to critical acclaim, we were happy to see that people understood there's a credible alternative to Beyonce. We know that Solange will never be as loved as Beyonce, but we know that we can always turn to her music whenever we want a look at what Beyonce may be making if she was actually talented.

For all their talk of persecution in the modern world, the religious right really does seem to have an obsession with making sure that minorities in a society are not allowed the same rights as everybody else, something that will constantly lead to their downfall if they don't do something about it. There is a lot of misinformation that seems to be spread throughout the United States these days that free speech means you're allowed to do and say whatever you want, which really isn't the point of free speech. Willfully engaging in hate speech in a public area is illegal for a reason and that concept should not be thrown away just so some white guy can feel comfortable with his views that are entirely wrong in the first place and based on no logic.

We just want to make it known that we totally get where Black Lives Matter is coming from and think it's time that everybody really started to look at their message, not the message that is being spread about them by the media. What is wrong with a group of people within a modern society protesting the fact that they are statistically more likely to be shot and killed by the very system that was supposed to be set up to protect them?

This insane obsession with Islam is really going to get the modern world into a lot of trouble, even more trouble than we're already in, as it only helps deepen the chasm that seems to split so many of us. If you're like us, you know that it's only worth judging human beings as individuals, for the specific actions and words that they choose to use. Otherwise, we're getting into very dangerous territory that persecutes people that have done nothing wrong.

If America wants to be seen as a progressive place in the world, they're going to have to accept that the Confederate flag is a part of their history that they should actively be trying to forget, or at the very least be ashamed of in the greatest possible way. We all live in countries that have committed heinous acts, but to celebrate those acts is the problem. If you have a connection to this flag, it's about time you got rid of it.

So, how do you lot feel about the way these football players are being treated by the media and politicians alike? We think it's insane that these people are not allowed to take part in a silent and peaceful process without the world seeming to lose its mind. The whole saga between this woman and Trump was amazing, especially when she willingly took on his insult for her, having it printed on a t-shirt and wearing it while being interviewed for the news. That is some perfect trolling. We never thought that anybody would be able to master Donald Trump when it came to the art of political trolling, but it seems that we were so wrong on that one. We're glad it was a woman who did it as well.
Did California Pass A Law Allowing HIV-Positive People To Give Blood?
If you're worried about people who are HIV positive giving blood, you should be aware that we test all of the blood that is given anyway, to make sure that it doesn't contain anything we wouldn't want to pass onto other people, which just makes good sense if you think about. Why aren't we allowing anybody to pass on blood, especially if somebody who was HIV-Positive needed blood and therefore could use the blood of somebody else who has the same problem?
Did Donald Trump Refuse To Shake A Disabled Child's Hand?
The concept of shaking hands and kissing babies never really seemed that normal to us, as if these things actually highlighted somebody's ability to properly rule, or that they even really cared about the person they would touching or kissing. Anybody can shake a hand or kiss a baby. That is literally the easiest thing that has ever been asked of a presidential candidate in their entire lives if you ask us. This should not be swaying any opinions and we hope it doesn't.
Was Nancy Pelosi's Daughter Arrested For Smuggling Cocaine?
Do we feel that the children of officials should be held to a higher standard than that you'd expect of a random child? We're not so sure. Obviously, smuggling cocaine is illegal no matter who you are, but should we believe that Pelosi should be bringing her children up in a much better way than that of anyone else? Is this really more of a scandal than if you were to take part in cocaine smuggling? We don't think so.
Did Barack Obama Attend G-20 2017?
Is anybody else really enjoying all of the images of the Barack Obama loving life now that he's been able to hand over his old job to Donald Trump? It must be such a conflicted feeling, knowing that you no longer have to keep that responsibility on your shoulders, but also knowing that you're handing that responsibility to a man like Donald Trump. Now, he's just loving life, and we really can't blame the guy for doing that these days.
