The term minimalist refers to anything that is spare or stripped to its essentials. When people are described as "minimalist" this means that they prefer not to own many personal belongings other than the bare essentials and a few meaningful items. In visual arts, music, and other artistic or creative mediums, minimalism refers to an art movement that dates back to post–World War II Western creativity in the 1960s and early 1970s.
Currently, digital artists have decided to apply minimalism to a certain franchise that is the antithesis of minimalism - Disney! Disney characters are known for being bright, loud, colorful, pretty, strange, interesting and vivid. This makes sense, right? Cartoons are usually meant for children and children love bright colors that draw attention. There's a lot to look at in a Disney character. Applying minimalism techniques to Disney characters means that our beloved and treasured fan favorites are going to look quite different, abstract even.
So we are posing this challenge to you hardcore Disney fans out there. Guess these Disney characters from these super minimalist artistic renderings. Don't be sad because they don't look as familiar as they normally do to you. Just think of them as dressed down in these drawings. Challenge accepted?

It almost looks as though both characters have their arms up - could they be dancing? What Disney movie has a significant amount of dancing characters in it? Aw! Andy's shoes are so darn cute! It is hard to get perspective from the size of this drawing so we can not really tell if these are supposed to be big shoes or little shoes. But from what we can tell Andy is either two people (two different people named Andy) or Andy has feet that are able to fit in very different sized shoes.
