Can We Guess Which High School Clique You Belonged To?

1.5K Shares

Oh, high school. Depending on which group one runs in, it’s either the best time of your life or the worst. Who are we kidding? It’s almost always the worst, and yet for some reason, everyone has incredible nostalgia for those four formative years when we, as children, first started to become young adults. For most people, memories of high school are almost entirely devoid of any actual learned facts or thoughts of the classroom, but rather the people who surrounded us, both in our fellow classmates and also the teachers who taught us.

Although most people who graduate from high school are simply happy it’s over, never once wanting to go back there, others spend their whole lives wishing they could relive their personal glory days. Even people who didn’t like high school all that much can look back on it and learn from the person who they used to be, or at least reflect on how much they’ve grown since then. Hopefully, we also all have a friend or two (or two dozen) we can look back on fondly and help us remember there were plus sides to the education system. Assuming the idea wouldn’t amount to pure torture to you, take our quiz and let us guess which clique you belonged to in high school.

Question 1

Did you like going to school?

Before we get too far into this quiz, it’s probably good for takers to stop and think if they even liked high school all that much in the first place. To some people, high school was a terrible time that should never be revisited, while others wish they could go back there every day. The reasons for this vary, as people who loved or hated high school always did so for different reasons. Keeping it simple, though, which column did you fall in?

Question 2

What did you do after school?

Forget about what actually happened during school—what you and your friends did immediately afterwards says way more about who you were as people. After all, from bell to bell, school is mostly about shuffling from class to class and hopefully taking in some knowledge while doing so. Once it’s over, though, teens can go and do pretty much whatever they want, so long as their parents aren’t too strict about it. What did you do?

Question 3

What was your favorite subject?

All right, so maybe the actual point of high school is going too much of an elephant in the room for this list to ignore. It’s true that how you interacted with your friends is far more important, yet at the same time, the sort of learning you excelled at generally relates to your personality, as well. Of course, hating every single class no matter who sat next to you also says a whole lot, but for now, we’re limiting the answers to positive ones.

Question 4

Were you in any after school clubs?

For those of you who feel how you did in class didn’t necessarily say anything about your social status, well, you’re probably right. However, this doesn’t mean everything that happens inside a classroom is totally irrelevant. Many students stayed in school after it was over to keep their education going in various clubs and organizations. Naturally, others thought these groups were even more pointless than school itself. Regardless, did you join any?

Question 5

What type of music did you listen to?

No matter how old you happen to be, the sort of music one listens to usually plays a huge role in the type of people they hang out with. As Madonna once said, music makes the big world come together, and as most high schoolers have thought at one point, Madonna’s a pretty smart lady. Or maybe you thought her successors as the Queen of Pop were the cool ones. Depends on how long ago high school was for you.

Question 6

Which high school TV show best represented your life?

Although the subject of high school nostalgia is basically a 50/50 as to whether or not it brings back good memories or bad ones, the entertainment world has nonetheless turned it into one of the most common settings on TV. This is reasonable enough, as nowhere else in life are so many people forced to stick in close quarters with people they may not necessarily get along with, causing great drama and/or comedy. Of the following stand-outs, which high school show was closest to getting it right?

Question 7

Did you do any drugs in high school?

Ultimately, this next question may come down to how much attention you paid during the D.A.R.E. program. Ironically, though, the less you paid attention the better, as studies have shown that graduating from Drug Abuse Resistance Education actually increased a student’s likelihood to experiment (presumably because of how terribly that program lied and exaggerated). In any event, it still says a lot about a person whether or not they were doing drugs, especially at young ages. Did you?

Question 8

Did you ever go to school dances or prom?

Speaking of drugs, it could be said that school dances were pretty much impossible unless or until someone spiked the punch and made things a little more festive. Well, that’s one way of looking at it, anyway. Others may feel tainted drinks could seriously damage prom or any other teenaged get together, and further hard drugs would ruin the events altogether. Hopefully, if you did go to your prom, you had a good time, either way.

Question 9

Did you go to school sporting events?

As an adult, whether or not you go to professional sporting events largely hinges on one issue: your interest in pro sports. In high school, however, the situation is a bit different, as local football games are some of the hottest social events around. Even kids with no interest in the game whatsoever will still go just to hang out, knowing its where a bunch of their friends will be. Others, of course, avoid the events like the plague. Which were you?

Question 10

How would your friends describe you?

Most people taking this quiz are probably doing so alone, answering questions about themselves based on their own memory. There’s not really any alternative to an online quiz, so we won’t blame you for it, but let’s be honest: everybody lies, especially about their own lives. What our friends say about us may also be a little bit suspect, but there’s also the plus side in that when a person describes you, their own personalities usually play a role in the words they choose.

Question 11

What type of movies were your favorites?

In many places of life, making friends isn’t necessarily about what you are like, but rather the simpler question of what you like. Typically, people don’t take much consideration towards another’s personality until they realize they have some common ground, and in high school, where emotions are underdeveloped to begin with, common ground can quickly be found in movies and entertainment. Which ones did you like the most?

Question 12

Did you have lots of friends?

Despite all the bad stuff that happens to some people, there’s no denying high school nostalgia is an incredibly popular concept for people everywhere. After all, this quiz wouldn’t exist were that not the case. The reason for this dichotomy large comes down to the friendships made, some of which may even last forever. Even if they ended the minute after graduation, having a core group of people you liked helping you get through the day makes everything easier.

Question 13

What did you think about your teachers?

Even if you didn’t love your fellow students while in high school, you most likely gritted your teeth and bore the torture that was getting along with them to stay out of trouble. The same can almost definitely be said about teachers, who some students probably view as the most irritating class of people around. That said, others might consider their teachers the most influential and important people in their lives. Which side are you on?

Question 14

What kind of car did you drive?

Nowadays, drivers ed isn’t necessarily part of the high school curriculum, though most schools still do offer some sort of elective course on the subject. This should pretty much go without saying, as aside from graduation, arguably the greatest stepping stone towards adulthood teens can earn in high school is learning to drive. Unfortunately, not everyone is lucky enough to do so, and even if they are, they don’t always get a car right away to benefit from doing so. Did you?

Question 15

What was your favorite high school movie?

As we already covered in the question about high school related TV shows, and as has subtly been referred to through most of our images, the entertainment world loves taking viewers back to class. Generally speaking, TV has a better chance at accurately representing one’s high school experience merely by nature of the fact that a lot more can be told in 100 episodes than 100 minutes. Still, we’ve all seen a movie or two that reminded us of life. Which one was yours?

Question 16

What was your favorite sport?

Even if you don’t like sports much now in your adulthood, there’s a good chance you attended a high school sporting even or two. This quiz already covered whether or not you liked them in general, but assuming you did, the specific sport you enjoyed probably related to the social scenes that surrounded it. Because our last question was a bit general, which sport was your favorite?

Question 17

Did you date in high school?

If everything about your high school experience went the way it does in movies, chances are you learned about a whole lot more than what they were teaching you in school. Ideally, there was also a special someone standing by you as your high school sweetheart, giving you both your first few lessons in the art of romance. On the other hand, you might have been too focused on your studies to ever land a date…or at least that’s the excuse you should tell people to explain why you were alone.

Question 18

Did you get along with your parents?

Teenagers in high school only spend a small portion of their lives actually learning/pretending to learn in the classroom. Even time spent with friends probably only amounts to a fraction of their lives, with the real bulk of existence taking place at home, alongside their families. Unless, of course, life was all about escaping from your family, because sometimes parents just don’t understand. Were your parents like those of the Fresh Prince, or did you generally get along?

Question 19

Did you ever play video games?

If you happen to be older the age of 50 or so and taking this quiz, this question might not quite apply. With all due respect to those who are of that age, though, we’re going to assume most of our audience is on the younger side, meaning your high school education likely took place after video games began exploding in popularity. Of course, how many bits your games could deliver also varied with age, and might affect what your answer means about you.

Question 20

Were there any cliques you didn’t get along with?

Even if the result you get from this quiz isn’t entirely accurate, we genuinely hope you won’t leave the site mad at us for getting your life so wrong. Unfortunately, the nature of high school means it’s totally possible that you could get a result that makes your blood boil, wondering how we could possibly miscast you so terribly. Again, our fingers are crossed that won’t be the case, so to make extra sure we don’t offend you, tell us which group you’d never want to be in.

Question 21

What was your favorite after school snack?

No matter who you are, who you hung out with, or what you felt about school in general, every single person can stand together on one concept: eating an after school snack immediately made the day better. Even if your school happened to have a decent cafeteria, chances are the government cheese pizza they were feeding you didn’t quite hit the spot. What special treat did you beg your parents to always keep in the kitchen for you?

Question 22

Were you invited to lots of parties?

Forget about going to prom or any school dances—other kids in school threw the real parties when their parents were out of town. Or, depending on just how “cool” their parents were, they may have been supplying the beer. Okay, that scenario is pretty rare and probably not all that true to life, but by hook or by crook, most high schoolers can and do find ways to drink alcohol together and have fun when the adults weren’t looking. Could you?

Question 23

What type of clothing did you wear?

While it’s the business world that suggests the clothes make the man (or woman), the phrase may actually hold more true to high school than any other part of life. The way a teenager dresses him or herself can easily dictate everything about their lives, from what people think about them and what exactly it is they're trying to express about themselves. Sure, some people just wore whatever was around, but assuming you actually put care into your looks, how did you dress?

Question 24

How would your teachers have described you?

Earlier on, we asked what you thought about your teachers. Quite frankly, few teenagers have much respect for authority, so if you didn’t think much about them at all, that wouldn’t be too surprising. However, if your teachers were any good at their jobs, they probably formed some pretty strong opinions about you as a student. We’re not just talking about the grades they gave you, as good teachers should in turn have good understandings of the people they’re teaching if they want to reach them.

Question 25

One a scale of 1 to 4, how much did you enjoy high school?

The quiz is almost over, and so our journey through your past is likewise about to come to a close. We started things off by asking if you liked high school in general, so to wrap everything up, we’ll get a little more specific about it and ask just how much you liked it. Or, alternatively, how much you hated it. With a 4 meaning high school was pretty much the best time of your life, and 1 meaning you’d never, ever want to go back, rate your experience.
