If there is one thing that most people from all the around the world has in common it is that they've seen at least one Disney movie. From the oldest to the youngest, Disney and its franchises have been a part of many childhoods... even adulthoods! There are certainly many reasons to like Disney, its animation, the catchy and sometimes can't get out of your head songs. But one of the things that makes Disney popular has to be its characters.
Princesses, talking animals, mythological gods, children - Disney's characters range from the seemingly normal to the extraordinary. It isn't just their looks or their stories that capture the fascination of children and adults alike worldwide, but it is the personality of these characters. Disney has a way of really giving their characters a heart and soul. They give them attributes that make the viewers connect with these characters on a personal level. It could be being brave and having the courage to be true to yourself like Mulan. Or being loving and loyal to one's family like Anna. Disney creates characters that people find themselves really loving or even admiring.

On or Off the Squad: Flynn Rider?
Flynn Rider, or rather Eugene Fitzherbert, comes from the 2010 Disney film Tangled. Humorous and sarcastic, Flynn would often use his charm to manipulate others. He was once a thief, only caring about himself, money and living a life of freedom. That was until he met Rapunzel. Through falling in love with Rapunzel his true personality came out, being selfless and loyal.

Jasmine is from the 1992 Disney film Aladdin. She is the princess of the kingdom of Agrabah, where her father rules. Jasmine yearned to break free from the society that only saw her as a prize to be won or a tool for power. Sneaking out of the palace one day led her to meet Aladdin, who also sought out freedom from the confines of his social status. Jasmine is a smart and independent character who has no trouble standing up for her beliefs.

Aladdin is a character from the self-titled Disney movie. Aladdin was orphaned at a young age and grew up in poverty for the majority of his life. Despite being a thief, stealing food to keep himself alive, he maintained a kind and generous nature. He was looked down upon by society because of his social status, which gave him a desire to prove himself as someone of worth. He accomplished his goal after many trials and tribulations, and found self-worth within himself.
On or Off the Squad: Hades
Hades is a characters from the 1997 Disney film, Hercules. Hades is the god of the Underworld and holds the desire to take over Mount Olympus and overthrow his brother, Zeus. A prophecy by the Fates, telling him that Zeus' son Hercules would one day end his scheme to rule Olympus, prompted him to try and take out Hercules when he was just a baby. Despite being a villain, Hades is persuasive, meticulous and is rather comical, though he has a very short temper.
On or Off the Squad: Charles F. Muntz
Carl Muntz is a character from the 2009 Disney and Pixar film Up. He was once an explorer and adventurer that collected rare things that he found as he traveled the world in his airship. He was disgraced when one of the specimens he found was concluded to be fake and vowed to the world that he would find a living specimen of the bird he called "The Monster of Paradise Falls". He was originally smart, charismatic and daring, but his obsession to find "The Monster of Paradise Falls" corrupted him.
On or Off the Squad: Andy Davis
Andy Davis is a character from the Disney film trilogy. He is the owner of Woody, Buzz and most of the other toys shown in the film. He very loved by his toys and shows the same love for them throughout the three films, even in the third one when he is older and heading off to college. He had been planning on taking Woody with him to college, as Woody held a special place in his heart, but ultimately decided to give him and his other toys to Bonnie, where they would continued to be played with and loved.
On or Off the Squad: Ariel
Ariel is a character from the 1989 Disney movie, The Little Mermaid. She is the youngest of seven sisters and the daughter of the King Triton, the ruler of the undersea kingdom Atlantica. Ariel has a fascination with the human world and yearns to be apart of that world, especially after she saves Eric and falls in love with him. She is rebellious and a little naive, but is a very free-spirited and gentle hearted young woman.
On or Off the Squad: Hercules
Hercules is a character from the same titled Disney film. He is the son of Zeus who was abducted from Mount Olympus and turned mortal by the scheme of his uncle Hades. Hercules grew up under the car of his adoptive parents, unaware of who he really was. His inhuman strength and led him to be called a "freak" by those around him. Though he might not be the brightest of characters, Hercules is one of the most heroic, compassionate and pure of heart.
On or Off the Squad: Jenny Foxworth
Jenny Foxworth is a character from the 1988 movie, Oliver & Company. Jenny brings Oliver to her home after a failed scheme to get money literally lands him inside of Jenny's car. She bonds with Oliver immediately and is very loving with him from the start. When she got a ransom note that Oliver was "cat-napped," she went to pay the ransom herself, using the money in her piggy bank. Jenny is a sweet and good natured girl.
On or Off the Squad: Esmeralda
Esmeralda is a character from the 1996 Disney movie, The Hunchback of Notre Dame. She is a performer, dancing on the streets and during the Festival of Fools where she first met Quasimodo. She is the first human character to show Quasimodo kindness in the film, which led him to develop romantic feelings for her. Esmeralda, who is street smart, morale and righteous, is the only one in the film to openly act against Frollo's tyranny.
On or Off the Squad: Jack Skellington
Jack Skellington is a character from the 1933 Tim Burton and Disney film, The Nightmare Before Christmas. Jack is the "Pumpkin King" of Halloween Town, and the patron "saint" or figurehead of Halloween. He grows bored with how things are done in town and ends up stumbling into Christmas Town, where he becomes enchanted by the preparations being done for Christmas and decides to take over Christmas for himself. Though he causes a lot of havoc during Christmas, Jack had the best of intentions. He is eccentric and debonair, and is willing to help out his friends when they need it.
On or Off the Squad: Mickey Mouse
Mickey Mouse is one of Disney's most notable characters and acts as the franchise's mascot. He has appeared in several different works and merchandise of the franchise over the years, becoming an icon for Disney. He is often seen as fun-loving and charismatic, though he can also be a bit mischievous at times. He is shown to be a great leader when he is among his friends.
On or Off the Squad: Charlotte
Charlotte La Bouff is a character from the 2009 Disney film, The Princess and the Frog. She is Tiana's best friend and is the daughter of Eli "Big Daddy" La Bouff, the richest and most influential man in New Orleans. Because of that she grew up getting anything and everything she wanted, making her very spoiled. But at her core, Charlotte is generous and kind-hearted and is very loyal to her best friend Tiana, giving up her own dream of marrying a prince so that Tiana and Naveen could be together.

Cinderella is a character from the 1950 Disney movie of the same name. Cinderella is treated horribly by her stepmother and stepsister, practically reduced to a servant in her own home. Despite suffering such abuse since she was a child, Cinderella remained kind, generous and humble. She ultimately finds her happy ending when she marries the Prince.
On or Off the Squad: Kristoff
Kristoff is a character from the 2013 Disney movie, Frozen. He is an ice harvester who ends up traveling with Anna on her way to find her sister Elsa and get her to return to the kingdom. Initially, Kristoff seems to be more a lonely who prefers the company of his pet and best friend reindeer Sven. But as he travels with Anna and becomes touched by her persistence and love for her sister, Kristoff becomes more soft and open.
On or Off the Squad: Lady Tremaine
Lady Tremaine is a character from the Cinderella trilogy. She is also known as the "Wicked Stepmother", as she shows a great cruelty and contempt for Cinderella. Since Cinderella was younger, she forced her to work as a servant in her own house, acting verbally abusive to her and allowing her two daughters to also mistreat Cinderella. Though she carries herself with a sophisticated air, she has a cold and jealous nature.
On or Off the Squad: Phineas and Ferb
Phineas and Ferb are brothers on the Disney television show, Phineas and Ferb. The show has the boys coming up with elaborate and often zany plans on how to spend their summer days, with their older sister Candice trying to desperately "bust" them. Both boys are very smart and imaginative and are each other's best friend.
On or Off the Squad: Lilo
Lilo is a character from the 2002 Disney film Lilo & Stitch. She is a young girl who lives with her older sister in Hawaii. The passing of her parents, that left her and her sister Nani orphaned gave Lilo a very eccentric personality. It often ostracized her from her peers and left her pretty lonely, until she met Stitch. She is mischievous but also very loving and courageous.

Miguel Rivera is a character from the 2017 Disney and Pixar film, Coco. Miguel comes from a family that has a rule that bans all music from their household. It is a difficult rule for him to keep, as he loves music and inspires to become a famous musician. He tries to get help from his musical idol, Ernesto de la Cruz.
On or Off the Squad: Governor Ratcliffe
Governor Ratcliffe is a character from the movie Pocahontas. He is the leader of an expedition to the New World to find gold. What his crew doesn't know is that he plans on using the gold he thinks they will find for himself to gain him fame and popularity back in England. He is inspired by the life of the real Governor Ratcliffe though his story was changed within the film.
On or Off the Squad: Jafar
Jafar is a character from the movie Aladdin. He is the Royal Vizier of Agrabah, but he holds the Sultan and everyone else in contempt. He uses his staff and vast collection of magical and mystical items to manipulate the sultan and anyone else he needs to in order to take over the kingdom and ultimately the world.
On or Off the Squad: Merida
Merida is a character from the 2012 Disney movie, Brave. She is the princess of a mystical Scottish Kingdom. Her mother, Queen Eilnor wishes for Merida to act more like a traditional princess, while the wild spirited Merida wishes to be in control of her own life. She ends up feeding her mother cake given to her by a witch, which turns her into a bear and she must discover the way to break the curse before it is too late.
On or Off the Squad: Madame Adelaide Bonfamille
Madame Adelaide Bonfamille is from the 1970 Disney movie, The Aristocats. She is the elderly owner of Duchess and her kittens. Mada Adelaide loves her pets very dearly, to the point of even writing in her will that all of fortune were to go to them once she passed on. This led her butler Edgar to become angry and jealous, which made him form a scheme to get rid of the cats so he could be the sole inheritor of her fortune.
On or Off the Squad: Pocahontas
Pocahontas is a character from the Disney movie of the same name. She is the daughter of the Powhatan chief who is conflicted over the path she should take in her life. When English settlers arrive, she meets one of them and John Smith and bonds with him. Despite her and John Smith getting along, tensions rise between the Powhatan and the English settlers.
On or Off the Squad: Star
Star Butterfly is a character from the Disney animated series, Star vs the Forces of Evil. She is a princess from another dimension known as Mewni that has a tradition of passing on the family's heirloom, a magical wand on a princess' 14th birthday. Star causes chaos almost immediately and is sent to Earth as a foreign exchange student to get her to control her powers.

Prince Eric is a character from the Disney movie, The Little Mermaid. Prince Eric is a human, who Ariel comes to admire and fall in love with after she saves him from drowning. Eric finds himself trying to find the woman that saved him, having fallen in love with her for saving him and because of her beautiful singing voice.
On or Off the Squad: Penny
Penny is a character from the 2008 Disney movie, Bolt. She adopted her pet dog, Bolt when she was eight and years later, the two of them become TV stars on a show named Bolt. She gets very upset when Bolt goes missing, and tries to find him by putting up lost dog fliers. After she and Bolt nearly lose their lives when the TV set catches fire, she and Bolt quit the show and move to a more rural home to live an easier life.

Moana is a character from the 2016 Disney movie of the same name. She is the daughter of an island chief who has a great love of the sea and a desire to venture beyond the reef that surrounds her home. When her home, and the rest of the world is in danger of being devoured by darkness, Moana braves the sea to find the god Maui to help her save the world.
On or Off the Squad: Mulan
Mulan is a character from the 1998 film with the same name. Mulan is a young woman who is torn between being herself and being the type of person that she is expected to be. Her love for her father prompts her to act as a man and join the army in his place. Mulan discovers that she is a fierce, strong and intelligent woman and doesn't try to fit herself into the mold the society around her expects out of her.
On or Off the Squad: Ratigan
Professor Padriac Ratigan is from the Disney film, The Great Mouse Detective. He is the James Moriaty to Basil's Sherlock Holmes, and is a criminal mastermind. In the movie, he plans to become the ruler of the "Mousedom" with his scheme to kidnap the ruler, replace her with a robotic toy fake of her, and feed the real ruler to his pet cat.
On or Off the Squad: Sofia
Sofia is a character from the Disney television series, Sofia the First. She becomes a "princess overnight" when her mom marries the king. The show features Sofia adjusting to her new life as princess. She has a magical amulet that gives her a number of special powers, which include talking to animals and talking with the other Disney princesses who help guide her when she faces a problem. Though Sofia is young, she is fairly pragmatic and compassionate.
On or Off the Squad: Victor Frankenstein
Victor Frankenstein is a character from the Tim Burton and Disney 2012 movie, Frankenweenie. In this rendition of Frankenstein, he is a shy boy who has an intelligent and creative mind and a passion for science. He has a beloved dog named Sparky who he spends most of his time with.
On or Off the Squad: Roger Radcliffe
Roger Radcliffe is a character from the 1961 Disney movie, 101 Dalmatians. He has a dog named Pongo, who considers Roger to be more of his "pet" than the other way around. Roger is very creative and talented at his job as a songwriter, able to come up with a song after hearing the name of Anita's old classmate, Cruella De Vil.
On or Off the Squad: Basil of Baker Street
Basil of Baker Street is a character from the 1986 Disney film, The Great Mouse Detective. His character is based off Sherlock Holmes, and he runs a private investigation agency. Basil finds himself trying to follow trail of his arch-nemesis Ratigan and figure out what the villain's plan. Basil is a little self-centered and naughty, but he is a brilliant detective.
On or Off the Squad: Rapunzel
Rapunzel is a character from the Disney movie Tangled. She is a young woman who only knows the world within the walls of her tower. Though her "mother," the witch Gothel keeps her locked away and tries to scares her, she still holds a deep yearning to explore the outside world. Rapunzel gets her chance when a thief named Flynn Rider tries to hide out in her tower. Rapunzel has a curious and bubbly nature. She is also very brave and takes promises very seriously.
