There were so many characters in Harry Potter that it's impossible to remember every single one. J.K. Rowling made sure to give each one a unique story. They had surnames, backstories, families, physical descriptions, personalities... even allies and enemies. Now we obviously can't keep track of all the information we've been given, but what about middle names? We can try to remember simply the middle names of some characters, but even that will be no easy feat.

No matter how big of a Harry Potter fan you claim to be, can you really claim to know it all? Can you really guarantee that you'll get 100% on this difficult quiz? Question 1

Harry _____ Potter

Harry Potter was the centre of the entire seven book and eight movie franchise. Without Harry, there would be no world for us to escape to, no story for us to soak in, and no characters for us to fall in love with. His feud with Voldemort has fuelled everything and without it we would be without J.K. Rowling's magical world. He managed to defeat his evil adversary in the last portion of the final novel and for that he will always be remembered. What was his middle name?

Hermione _____ Granger

The brains of the bunch, Hermione got her friends through thick and thin. Without her, they would never have gotten through all of the mayhem alive. From discovering the Philosopher's Stone to packing clothes for Harry and Ron in her bottomless purse, Hermione has never let anyone down. Harry and Ron always knew that she was the best thing to every happen to them and appreciated her as such. Ron even ended up marrying her and having two children with her.

The redhead member of the trio, Ron was cumbersome and funny. He was also sweet, loyal, kind, and loving. He was a realistic character because he felt envy and jealousy. He was not made out to be a perfect person. We love him with all our hearts and always forgive him for his mistakes, even the tough ones like when he walked away from Harry during the last book. That was attributed to a Horcrux after all. We also have no doubt that he became an amazing father.

Tom _____ Riddle

Lord Voldemort was once a young, handsome boy by the name of Tom Riddle. He hated his mundane, simple, Muggle name and despised its mediocrity. He later evolved to become the greatest Dark wizard of his time and renamed himself. He also underwent a makeover, from his hair to his eyes to his nose. Why did he become someone who barely resembled a human? Because he split his soul into many pieces, all called Horcuxes. He was stripped of his humanity and the world was left with Lord Voldemort in Tom Riddle's place.

Ginny _____ Weasley

The youngest of the Weasleys and the only girl, Ginny had to prove herself to her family. She turned out to be a very strong witch. Her childhood crush on celebrity Harry Potter turned into a romance. They married and had three kids. Although she dated several boys along the way, to Ron's dismay, she ended up with Harry as we hoped she would. She also was able to produce a patronus and fought valiantly in several fights against the Death Eaters.

Fleur _____ Delacour

Fleur attended a school for witches called Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. It was run by Madame Olympe Maxime; they all wore blue and spoke French. She fell in love with Bill Weasley, a man with scars across his face, fighting the assumption that she was incredibly vain. Since she was half Veela, she was a very beautiful woman and it was the first thing that most wizards and witches noticed about her. She noticed and enjoyed it, but grew up dramatically during the course of the story.

Draco _____ Malfoy

Draco Malfoy was a self-proclaimed enemy of Harry from their first train ride to Hogwarts. After Harry turned down his offer of friendship, Draco taunted and bullied Harry every moment he could. Wanting to make his father proud, he loudly opposed the Gryffindors. He even targeted the likes of Neville Longbotton, a boy who had no defence and very little magical ability. He proved to be more of a dynamic character than that, but that came later on in the series.

Bill _____ Weasley

Bill Weasley worked for the goblins at Gringotts Wizarding Bank. He married Fleur Delacour in the seventh book but their wedding was intruded upon by the Death Eaters. During a battle at Hogwarts, he was injured by werewolf Fenrir Greyback and was severely scarred. Although he did not become a werewolf, he grew a liking for very rare meat. He lived at Shell Cottage with Fleur after their wedding, the place where Dobby died and the trio took refuge after their incident at Malfoy Manor.

Phineas _____ Black

Phineas was an ancestor of Sirius Black who became a headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. His family strongly believed in the importance of blood purity, making them important in Voldemort's schemes. Like most of them, he was sorted into the Slytherin house and hated Muggle-borns. He was despised by the students and in return he hated his post. We have only interacted with him in his portrait hung in the Headmaster's office. What was the full name inscribed on the frame?

Remus _____ Lupin

Remus was a father figure to Harry before his untimely death during the Battle of Hogwarts. He showed up in the third book and had his cover blown by Hermione who revealed that he was a werewolf. He then cleared Sirius' name and tried to capture Peter Pettigrew, but the rat scurried away. Remus tried his best to watch over Harry and protect him. He taught Harry how to produce a Patronus, something that came in handy many times. He was a truly good person.

Albus _____ Dumbledore

From dropping baby Harry off at the Dursleys to teaching older Harry about Horcruxes, Dumbledore had a hand in guiding Harry through his entire life. He recruited Snape onto his side as a double agent, tried to protect James and Lily, and was the only person that Voldemort feared. His death was tragic but turned out to be orchestrated by himself. He had three middle names in addition to his first and last, giving him a very long name in total. What were the middle ones?

James _____ Potter (Harry's son)

Son of the famed Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley, brother to Albus and Lily, grandson of James and Lily Potter. James Potter was the relative of many famous people and relished in it. He was excited to attend Hogwarts with no worries and was sorted into Gryffindor. He resembles his namesakes in his mischievous nature and love for teasing and trouble. The young boy did not have a large presence in the books, as we were graced with his character only in the epilogue.

Albus _____ Potter

The second son of Harry and Ginny, we meet Albus in the epilogue and learn that he's terrified to be sorted into Slytherin. Harry acts as a good father, telling him that it's okay and he will be loved no matter what. In the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, we learn that Albus was indeed sorted into Slytherin. He and Scorpius, Draco's son, happen upon a Time Turner and mess up many things in current time. That adventure teaches us a lot about the boy who is named for Albus Dumbledore and a Slytherin.

Lily is the third child of Harry and Ginny and the only one who inherited her mother's famous Weasley red hair. She was very impatient to begin attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, similarly to how her mother had acted as a child watching all her older brother go to school before her. Her first year coincided with her cousin Hugo, the son of Ron and Hermione. Lily was named for her late grandmother and one of her parents friends. Which friend was she named for?

Cornelius Fudge was the Minister for Magic during the majority of the Harry Potter franchise. He had the responsibility of maintaining the entire Ministry of Magic on his shoulders in addition to communicating with the Muggle prime minister when necessary. He had trouble accepting the fact that Voldemort had returned despite Harry's many testimonies and Cedric's dead body and only believed the truth when he saw the Dark Lord with his own two eyes. When he admitted to the public that he'd been wrong, he was forced to resign from his post.

Teddy was the only son of deceased Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks who had died in the Battle of Hogwarts. He inherited the ability to change form from his mother and often wore his hair as bright blue. Harry was named his godmother and helped Andromeda, Teddy's grandmother, raise the boy. When he started school at Hogwarts, he was sorted into Hufflepuff. He and Victoire, Bill and Fleur's daughter, enjoyed each other's company and dated. What was his middle name?

Regulus Black was a pure-blood wizard and brother to Sirius Black. He did his family proud by being sorted into Slytherin, unlike his brother, and joining Voldemort's forces. However, once he discovered the degree to which Voldemort would go to accomplish his goals, including torturing Kreacher the house elf, he backed away from the whole empire. He discovered Voldemort's Horcruxes and traveled to the cave where ond was hidden to destroy it. Sadly, he was murdered shortly after and Harry finished the work that Regulus had began.

Newt Scamander was the author of the textbook "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." J.K. Rowling wrote a play starring him, giving us the opportunity to learn so much more about him. He was a Hufflepuff and had a great interest in magical creatures, eventually joining the Ministry of Magic in the Beast Division. He learned about many creatures, gained their trust, and wrote the book about them. He caused trouble in America when his briefcase of creatures opened and they escaped across the country.

Horace _____ Slughorn

Horace Slughorn was a member of the Slytherin House who taught Potions and taught Tom Riddle about Horcuxes. Since he was the reason that Voldemort was immortal, he lived in fear of being captured by the Death Eaters either to be murdered or converted. He returned to Hogwarts in Harry's sixth year and reinstated a club called the Slug Club. The members of the club were shown extreme favouritism, and the club included Harry, Hermione, and Ginny. He only included people who he believed would be beneficial to him in the future.

Sybill _____ Trelawney

Professor Trelawney taught Divination at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She is famous for her predictions called prophecies, having been the one to predict that a boy would challenge Voldemort. It was her words that began the war between Voldemort and Harry, since the Dark Lord wanted to vanquish the young child who had the potential to one day overcome him. Umbridge removed her during her reign at Hogwarts, but Dumbledore brought her back when he returned to Hogwarts. Can you guess her middle name?

Dolores Umbridge was a woman who always wore pink and decorated her office with ornate China plates with designs of cats. She made her way through Hogwarts intending to change it as drastically as possible. She began as the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor and then climbed to High Inquisitor and then to Headmistress. We hated her as much as we hated the Death Eaters so it made sense when we encountered her again in the seventh book with a Horcrux.

The ghost of Gryffindor, this ghost scared Harry and the other first years when a certain part of his body almost came clean off. His full name was Sir Nicholas de Mimsy Porpington and he feared death enough to choose to stay in the mortal world as a ghost. In Harry's second year, the ghost invited Harry to attend his Deathday Party. The party had lots of old, smelly, potent foods that the ghosts could imagine tasting when they floated through it.

Myrtle _____ Warren "Moaning Myrtle"

Moaning Myrtle used to be a regular girl from Ravenclaw who attended Hogwarts at the same time as Hagrid and Voldemort. When the Chamber of Secrets was opened for the first time since Slazar Slytherin had built it, she met the eyes of the Basilisk and died from its gaze, as per Voldemort's orders. Rather than moving on, she stayed in Hogwarts and haunted the girls' bathroom on the first floor. She spoke often with the trio, especially when they brewed Polyjuice Potion in her bathroom.

Percy _____ Weasley

Percy was the third Weasley and Ron's older brother. Percy had a large ego and made sure to be perfect in all areas. He sucked up to professors and authority figures within the Ministry of Magic. He was appointed as both Prefect and Head Boy, two prestigious positions for a student to have. When he worked for the Ministry, he often picked his job over his family which caused his siblings to resent him. He did apologize at the end and cried with his family when Fred died.

This ghost was the ghost of Slytherin and invoked fear in the students there. He was the only one who Peeves the poltergeist feared, a fact that was taken advantage of by Filch. Before his death, he fell in love with Helena Ravenclaw. Rowena Ravenclaw sent him to go find Helena but when she would not return with him, he slaughtered her. He then stabbed himself out of horror and became the ghost of Slytherin. The story of his death influenced his nickname. What was it?
